Microsoft - Xbox Wireless Headset (2024 Model)

IMO, Movie with the Intelligent Equalizer set to Detailed works really well. Great balance between loudness and clarity. I used this guy's settings in the xbox accessories app and it seems to pair very well.

I have the second edition of the Xbox Wireless Headset with the free Dolby Atmos. Static occurs once in a while, but that is to be expected with a wireless headset and it’s not a big issue. Good quality for $120. Even the Stereo wired headset is pretty solid for $60.

Just bought a pair, and I am an audio file. The drivers they put in these headphones are worth the price tag alone. Once the eq is adjusted properly, holy shit was I blown away. They sound like $200 to $300 headphones. Honestly, and it is impressive the amount of bass these can produce and it’s real bass as well. No haptic bass like scull candy.

I spent my whole life playing without any headset, since PS2, until new generation with my XSX I bought official Xbox headset and grab dolby atoms license… definitely a life changing experience, i was stupid 🤦🏻‍♂️

It also is not compatible with the Wireless Adapter for windows. It's either a driver bug or a huge oversight. The old version works fine with it.

It doesn't work with any xbox wireless adapter on windows. You have to use bluetooth on the new version.

What did you end up getting? My older Xbox wireless works but they don't sound as nice or are as comfortable as I'd like.

I like the Xbox headset I think the price went up abit over years , but it does the job

I used the Xbox Wireless Headset for a while and liked it a lot more than the Turtle Beach Stealth 500.

This headset blows. I have had the Astro A30 for 2 years till my friend stepped on them. I got these and they absolutely blow for call of duty. Sounds like you are in a closet playing. Game audio is horrible. I’m returning them and buying a new pair of a30’s tomorrow. DO NOT BUY.

Xbox wireless headset is really good

Idk about gaming headsets but i’ve been using xbox wireless headset for years now (i also have xbox so double purpose). Not the best sound quality for music but it is really good for gaming and it blocks almost all outside noise and comfortable for hours.

The official xbox wireless headset is amazing. $110 and will last 5 years minimum if taken care of.

I have several. I have a Razer Kairi Pro headset and the official Xbox wireless headset. They are absolutely worth it imo. Not necessarily for multiplayer and chilling out, but some games for story/atmosphere they're brilliant. Dead Space was ten times better with the headset than without.

Gone from Xbox Wireless Headset (poor build that keep needed supergluing) to Nova Pro Wireless X over the past few days. I'm happy with them and considering my monitor doesn't have an AUX input, I can now use my Xbox and PC audio through my aux input speakers when my headset is turned off. Only issues I'm having is the GameDAC won't turn off when both the computer and Xbox are turned off (seems to think the Xbox is still awake or something). Read that an update caused this but it's been an ongoing issue for nearly 2 years and haven't seen any updates since. And it's abit annoying that Bluetooth turning on/off is with a separate button so the headset doesn't actually power off until both sides are powered down.

I tried the Xbox Wireless Headset and it’s been solid on Series X ... connects instantly, sounds balanced, and the mic is good enough for party chat.

They suck, bad connection with xbox, bad connection with smartphone , bad connection with pc vía USB (im not making the de mic work)

People say they can barely hear me, especially if I take a phone call

The Xbox wireless headset is the best gaming headset I've had. I prefer it over my Razer Kraken or Turtle Beach

I've been using the Xbox wireless headset for years and it's been great. And the newest version is better now. I finally had to replace the ear cups but they're cheap and easy to deal with

For Xbox, they are great since they are wireless and can be used with or without the controller.

I got this headset last week and the sound is good while playing games but is scratchy on the Home Screen menu and every app. Any idea how to solve this?

You can adjust it, and it’s the in game mic that’s awful. When I’m in discord it’s just fine.

Interesting. I've personally never felt the Xbox one was poor quality. I didn't know there was a TB G3, but i have had quality issues with the g2. They're just too hesvy for the materials they use. If you handle with care though, they're excellent.. The Xbox model is eat I use an the time now

the mic is garbage tho. It picks up every small sound so if you play with people, be warned that they will be upset with u. Had to return mine

mic monitoring does not change the mic volume or sensitivity. Mic monitoring allows you to hear your own voice back in the headset to allow you to hear how loud or quiet you are speaking. Xbox literally does not have a way to change your own mic settings in 2025 and it’s embarrassing when the ps3, ps4, and ps5 literally all have that option Other than the mic settings, i thought the headset was good but that was a dealbreaker for me

I have that one too but after about 30 minutes of using it, it starts to sound staticy. I couldn't figure out what was causing it so I just gave up on it

I have the Xbox wireless headset and Ilit has worked great for about 4 years now. mic is good, build quality is good, and it's comfortable. the audio sounds very good to me but I'm not an audiophile.

I'm late but I was able to connect to my xbox and Bluetooth at the same time on my original pair of xbox wireless unless they changed it. It was weird I was in a party chat and my dad called and I heard all of them at the same time but obviously my dad couldn't hear the party it was pretty trippy 😅 I just got a pair of the new ones the first served me well but I believe the auto mute is just wonky because sometimes they say they couldn't hear me even tho I responded or maybe just because I don't have a very bass-y voice 😅😅 they're updating now about to try them out

Agreed the Xbox headset is amazing, and the price is very good for what you get. Easy decision.

I just have the Xbox Wireless Headset. Wouldn’t say they’re the best, but they’re good for $120. They sync straight to the Xbox like a controller does and you can use Bluetooth at the same time, like have your phone connected. Sound quality is good, especially if you have the Dolby Atmos app, you can change the EQ to your preference. The mic is okay, but the voice isolation is actually really impressive.

The Xbox Wireless Headset is absolutely banger for $100. I haven't heard that much power from an over the ear headset for $100. Ever. Plus the ability to connect to your mobile phone and play music in tandem with your game audio? They were the first to do it.

I bought it 3 weeks ago and I can say that even though it says it long 20 hours, for my use it lasts less, I'm going to see if I can change it for another one that lasts longer.

I beg u to try this eq out, honestly the one u used I've tried, and as kind of an audiophile, it absolutely rapes your ears and doesn't address the proper frequencies that need attention, which is the mids, the highs have no business needing such an insane amount of boosting when the headphones already come with an aggressively V-shaped frequency response. My eq sorta gives a volume boost, + completely eliminates the mudiness but still retains bass without stuff like bells and cymbals in games like ori to absolutely give u hearing damage

If he plays with ppl I couldn't recommend it. The mic on that thing is atrocious. I've played with numerous ppl who have it, and it's up there with the worst mics I've ever had to deal with.

I mean, glad for you, but allot of ppl tend to just not say anything, like I didn't just sit there and act like a jerk going on about how bad a friend's mic is, unless it was blatant echoing cuz they left TV sound or whatever. A buddy of mine just upgraded to what I'm using and it's might an day.

My buddy adjusted his, we use almost nothing but discord.... even with noise suppression on it was terrible.

Yup..... my one buddy just upgraded to what i have.... playing with him was a nightmare. If playing alone cool, but I'd never recommend subjecting the ppl you play with to that type of torture.

they have models for xbox. i bought two for this reason.

They get too loud for me I have to use them halfway mess with eq and the chat game know on left

The official Xbox wireless headset is pretty fantastic and it can connect to both your console and a Bluetooth device

I use the Xbox official wireless and really love it. You can customise the sound profile and with The Dolby app it makes it sound really good. I’ve never had a problem with it and I’m usually able to hear footsteps before my friend when playing. It’s a good headset imo I’d give it a solid 8/10

I use the Microsoft Xbox wireless stereo headset and have the Xbox wireless dongle to go with it and have never had an issue and the mic sounds good as well the sound, and on pc you can turn on Dolby atmos sound profile and make it sound even better

Microsoft wireless headset because i got a lot of criticism for criticising it so im seeing how great it apparently is and its alright but the volume slider can get annoying

There are a few headsets that approach audiophile grade sound, but not a lot. And unless a pair of gaming headphones has more than one speaker per cup (which may exist, but which I have not come across), it isn't going to be particularly more capable of "3D" audio than any good pair of headphones with a competent amp/DAC. With gaming headphones (especially for PCs), you're paying for the convenience of having a built-in mic and the brand, and honestly you can find a lot of good headphones with built-in mics, a boom mic cord, or an external mic and spend less overall for better sound. I have a couple of old ones kicking around, but I basically never use them anymore because I get way better resolution and clarity from a Hifiman or Meze, and then I don't need to swap around headphones when I move to music. Might be more worth it for consoles, if you don't want to have to deal with cords. (For example, I still use the Microsoft Series X headset with the Xbox Series X for pure convenience and not wanting to have to fumble with wires or mics in my living room.)

I’ve had a bunch of Turtle Beaches over the years (and just bought one to cannibalize for the drivers), but don’t have any experience with that model. I will say I’ve had maybe two headsets marketed as “gaming” that I thought were good enough sounding to be worth using: Audeze Maxwell and the Microsoft Series X headset, neither of which have ANC. Good luck though!
