Sure as hell isn't the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro - Xbox version. Nothing but issues with it, and I've had it less than a year.

I've had mine for about 3 months now, I bought a new strap because the stock one was giving me a headache. I still have issue with them feeling like they are clamping too hard on my head and glasses tho. I have one of the really flexible meshy plastic comfort straps and have one side set to the middle, one side set to the top any looser and it feels like its gonna fall off my head, any tighter and it feels like a vice clamp. That's literally my only complaint. The sound is phenomenal. No issue with speakers, hardware/software or anything buggy on that. If they didn't weigh so much they'd be perfect. But I put on my old Razr Blackshark V2 pros, adjusted the equalizer and in comparison it sounds like actual crap. If I could get this comfort thing under control they'd be absolutely perfect. Sometimes I wish I could exchange them for something lighter but then I want the same kind of sound too. So I guess I'll put up with it until I find a solution.

Razer, Black Shark V2 Pro. I got them 4 years ago when I got my ps5 and they were like $200. The sounds quality is phenomenal, and the comfort of them is amazing. My head never hurts wearing them for long periods of time. Razer makes good products. I don’t think they are specifically advertised for ps5, but they work with the console perfectly.

I think you are right. I had this same issue with a BlackShark V2 Pro. It would disconnect constantly when the dongle was in the back. As soon as I moved the dongle to one of the front ports, I never had that issue again.

Currently, I use the Razer Kraken V4. It's wireless with either 2.4 Ghz USB-C dongle or Bluetooth. it can also be used with a wired connection, which simultaneously charges it. There is a cheaper option in Razer Kraken V4X, which is a solely wired version. I've both headsets and have had no issues with either. I also quite like the Blackshark V2 Pro. The mic is noticeably better on the Blackshark vs the Krakens, in my experience. However, the mic on the Krakens I own is retractable, which is a big selling point for me. My first ever headset was the Razer Kitty Kraken. Honestly loved it to bits, especially customising the cat ears' RGB, so I can also recommend it if you want something cute. It comes in black, white and pink versions. I'm not sure if the other Razer headsets do, but I absolutely know for certain the Kitty Kraken does! In the past, I've also used Steelseries Arctis 1 and Arctis 5. Both were serviceable, but I feel as though the audio was tinny. The only reason I bring these up two up is because Razer products can be quite expensive, and Steelseries options are affordable whilst still offering similar features (wireless, wired, Bluetooth, detachable and/or retractable mic, etc...) whilst being cheaper. They are also much lighter on ear/in general compared to the Razer headsets. Hope this helps! Would love to know what you go for!

As with anything know what you are buying. "Gaming headset" includes everything from a cheap ass 15 dollar headset Walmart would be embarrassed to stock. To the $330 Audeze Maxwell. "Gaming headsets" as a group are more likely to sport some nice to have for PC Gaming. Including integrated mics, and wireless connectivity. Though yes, they do sacrifice quality of their feature set vs dedicated units. Does that make them bad. Not in my book. I personally can not stand be wired to my desk. So, wireless allows me to keep hearing what's going on/what a buddy is saying, while taking care of real world things. Side note: have a set of razor headphones, the blackshark v2 wireless i believe. Going on some 5 years, still work just fine. They are now just a backup/travel set. Just take of your belongings. Also have had hyperx in the past, solid stuff. Gave them to a friend who has been using them for a while now.

Do NOT get the razor black shark pro. It’s a great headset and I love it, but it is god awfully quiet. I even fine tuned the sound and tweaked settings to get the best out of it, still very quiet. Or at least on my ps5 it is, Xbox may be better but it’s a gamble

There are some, like the Black shark V2, Audeze Maxwell, I've got a pair of Artis Nova 5x, can't complain they are very good for the price. My recommendation would be Sennheiser HD560s or one of the newer variants. The HD38X which has a boom mic. I personally use the K712, which I love as a gaming headphones, I even have a 3rd party cable with inline mic so it becomes a headset. I use this on an Astro mixamp connected to my Xbox, works great

I don't know anything about the headphones you mentioned, but I do know for roughly $30 more than the Corsairs, there's the Razer Blackshark V2's. My favorite feature of them is the volume knob on the side, so you can always adjust volume on the fly. The convenience of that alone feels worth it to me. I've had my set for nearly 2 years, and they are holding up great and still sound phenomenal. I'm also a musician, so I will concur with the other commentor that using an audio interface setup with just a set of studio music headphones and a separate microphone is the best way to go. But that's your choice, and that can be just as expensive if not more in my opinion if you're wanting the mic and playing with others and/or streaming. One thing you'll want to be sure and do, though, even with your current set of headphones, is that on your PC, and this is for Windows 11, you should go to Settings > System > Sound > All Sound Devices, and find your set of headphones. Click on the headphones, and it should bring up many different options. Make sure the format is a 2 channel option at 24 bit (Studio Quality). I just checked mine and I've had it on 96000 Hz and it's been great, but I bumped it up to 192000 Hz and that should be even better. This paired with the Dolby Atmos spacial sound setting (what I have, but any other might suffice as well) at the bottom of the same page, and I've had the best sound I've ever had across all games. You have to make a one-time purchase of Dolby Atmos (I think I paid around $10), but if that fixes your sound and you don't even need a new set of headphones, that might be the way to go for you. Also, in your Quake Champions audio settings, my speaker configuration is set to 7.1 surround, which sounds great for me, and I would imagine if you do the other things I suggest and make sure that setting is on too, you should be ready to rock and roll. I can definitely hear people strafe jumping from quite a far distance through walls and stuff. I have been very happy with my footstep audio in every game with this setup. For something like PUBG, for instance, I can tell exactly where a bullet is shot from and flick right to that direction. I was never able to accomplish this without changing that format hz rate setting in my headphones properties, and enabling spacial sound. But alas, I'm rambling far too much. Sorry for the length of this, but I hope you read it and try it out and it helps!! :)

Also, the mic sounds really good according to everyone else I game with on the V2's. You might have to adjust some settings there as well for microphone output depending on the application you are running. Lemme know if you have any issues there and I'm more than happy to look into it and help :)

Blackshark has a great mic. My current steelseries mic is pretty good too. I was once on the headphones plus seperate mic train, however I said fuck it and realized as of late the "gamer" headsets have about everything I need in them, albeit audiophile quality which most people don't care much about anyway.

I had a blackshark and loved it until the hinges disintegrated on me. I currently have the steelseries and it's... Okay? Noise canceling is useless on it. Software is ass. Other than that it's pretty good. The hot swappable batteries is neat. If I could go back I'd probably get the Audeze Maxwell. However they're heavy and a little unwieldy (I tried my friends on).

Ok, so first of all, let me give you some context: Around 10 years ago, I had the Sennheiser PC363D for gaming. For me it was almost all I wanted: Excellent sound quality and positional sound, lightweight, comfortable, never made you sweat. I really liked it and it was also good for listening to music. But it had two problems: * First, the software was abandonware. Sennheiser stopped updating the drivers and those didn't work well on newer operating systems. * Second, the build quality was not good. It was made of cheap plastic, and after 10 years of heavy use, it was starting to fall apart, specially the flexible rubber of the mic boom. So, when I relocated 5 years ago I sold it. Surprisingly, someone paid for it more than what I paid for it new, because the guy really wanted it. I then got (yeah, I'm an idiot) a wired Razer Blackshark. Not only the sound quality is waaay worse than the PC363D, but the rails to adjust the ribbon band are crap, and the Razer software is horrible: Buggy as hell, and in the past it attempted to install cryptominers. I had it for a few years to recoup my investment, but it is time to let it go. This time I do not want to repeat the mistake, and want a proper headset. I've read good things about the **Beyerdynamic MMX** **~~300~~** **330 Pro**, and I'm also considering the **Audio Technica ATH-M50xSTS**. I owned the normal ATH-M50x at the same time I owned the PC363D, and honestly I thought the PC363D sounded better with most music and games. Is the MMX ~~300~~ 330 Pro as good or better than the PC363D was? Any other contender? My sole requirement is that any recommendation has an integrated mic and equals or surpasses thr PC363D in sound quality for gaming and media. I do not care jack or USB. Detachable cables and mic are a nice to have. Price is not a problem (within the gaming realm), but please do not recommend me some crazy expensive audiophile headset of >500€ because it is not what I need. I am also not interested in gaming crap, such as Logitech headsets. I got one once because it was what all review websited highlighted as "best gaming headset" and I returned it inmediately. Crappy plastic toy with white noise and money spent on rainbow leds. Thank you if you read so far! Edit: there were a couple of typos in my original post. While I originally wrote MMX 300 Pro, I really meant MMX 330 Pro (the newer, open end version). Edit 2: my motherboard has the Realtek ALC4080, which seems to be fine driving headsets up to up to 600Ω. If possible, I'd like to avoid having to buy a separate and big and bulky DAC because my desk is very crowded already. If it is something small like the DAC which came with the P363D (similar to a USB dongle) then it is ok.

It's worth it for what it is but my issue im having with it is that the mic after a while has trouble picking up your voice. It's funny cause I had the blackshark razor headset too and I got rid of that too cause of the same issue of after a while it starts to not pick up your voice.

I've been using them for a 1 year now, if you want a headset exclusively for your desktop there is no better option in the market considering comfort, build quality and battery life. I've also tried for a month or so the logitech g pro and the razer blackshark. Sadly mine died out of nowhere yesterday, got in touch with warranty and they are solving everything really fast.

Search through r/razer and do your own analysis, but the most common failure patterns and causes are as follows: 1. Thin ABS or PC plastic at stress points, specifically at the fork/slider that connects ear-cups to headband. 2. No metal reinforcement on entry-level lines: (Kraken X, Kaira, Barracuda Pro), leading to plastic fatigue after minimal usage. 3. Warranty issues: Razer sometimes approves RMAs when cracks appear inside the 1 or 2 year window, but posts frequently report warranty claim denials, citing physical damage. 4. Razer's design consistency: Similar break locations are reported across multiple generations, implying the underlying manufacturing defects have not fundamentally changed over the years. So, should you buy a Razer headset? If you want a headset that will survive daily travel or years of heavy use, look elsewhere. A review of r/razer posts shows repeated structural failures across most plastic-frame Razer lines within the first year. If you want to ignore post history and reported failures, consider the BlackShark model family. The BlackShark uses a spring-steel headband and has the fewest cracking complaints, though you should be extra careful with the plastic hinges and keep proof of purchase for RMA.

If you can find it on sale the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X is a great one, great build-quality, light, good sound and microphone if you tweak the EQ a bit, insanely long battery life and the simultaneous Bluetooth connection is amazing when you are on your PC and there's an incoming phone call or you want to use a console alongside it. From the ones you mentioned I know the Razer Blackshark has one of the best microphones ever on a gaming headset but can also be prone to breaking.
