Ye mine popped from the first minute i got em but no fade jus a pop crackle when bass hits mostly. I used synapse 4 on nari ultimate and v3 pro so far no pops so it has to be the headphones or the connection to headphones. Idk I liked everything about em besides haptics are way way way less than nari ultimate or even v3 pro so they going back.

I own artics nova pro wireless and kraken v4 pro and so far so happy about them except they are a lot less breathable and just saw the alpha 2 since I kinda liked the original alpha wireless with the ear cups material on the alpha2 I wonder how it will turn out whether I will be keeping it or returning it

Just go them haven’t eq them yet but so far works great sound alittle quieter than artics nova pro wireless(which is my other one) super comfy mic is amazing im still confused on why the virtual sound the ngenunity Spatial Audio doesn’t work maybe since its beta and the software is a little buggy but build seems amazing id put the kraken v4 pro the highest on the gaming headset i own in terms of build quality and this second and nova pro wireless third

mine just started popping it both ears randomly today and it is making audio fade out and fade back in. could be an issue with my pc audio but i have not adjusted audio settings in weeks and there are no updates for it. i'm hoping it is just the firmware that needs updating. i have used astro A40's with the mixamp for about 4 years and saw this one come out and figured i should upgrade. i was highly satisfied with the software but the compatibility and durability may be the downfall

I have this headset and I posted in that cracking thread. All I want to say is I like the sound a lot. particularly with the haptics at lower settings. To me these sound as good and clear as my Sennheiser GSP 550s, and better than the Beyerdynamics I have. I use the Kraken V4 pro 4 or 5 hours a day gaming and listening to music. I am not an audiophile, I am a long time PC gamer, so that is where my ears are coming from. The leather ear pads don't heat up too much for me. I am pretty sure sure the cloth ear pads from the other Kraken V4's will fit this, so hopefully you can buy those as a replacement if you want to. Yes for the money it would be nice to get both types of ear pads in the box. I have a fairly large head and I only have the headband extended to 3. I can't imagine anyone having them fully extended on both sides at 7 or 8. That plastic piece really should not break at any length, but I can see how fully extending the ear cups could add some pressure. Maybe Razer could sell that plastic piece as a replacement repair part, or we can make a metal replacement. It looks fairly simple. Anyhow I am really happy with this headset and hope it lasts as long as possible. Personally I think if something were to fail it would be the haptics first, but we will see. If the haptics do fail I would very much miss it in games, and also listening to Judas Priest and Megadeth! I get a nice head massage when I listen to those :)

I have the Beyerdynamic MMX330 Pro and the MMX 200 Wireless. They are definitely good headsets, but not perfect. The MMX300 Pro mic swivel sucks, I don't like it. It just does not swivel smoothly. Sound wise they are very good, but out of the box the Razer Kraken V4 Pro sounded much better to my ears with little to no tweaking. The Beyerdynamic's, particularly the MMX 300 Pro, requires a lot more work to get it to sound good, at least in my setup. I used the MMX 300 Pro with a Soundblaster Audigy FX V2 sound card. Comfort wise the MMX 300 Pro is better, but sound wise I still like the Kraken V4.

This Kraken V4 headset is the first haptic headset I have ever owned or tried. Four months later since my last post and I still use it every day when I play games. It has been fantastic and without issues. I hope in the future Razer keyboards approach the quality of this headset. I have had numerous issues with their keyboards, from the Blackwidow V3 and newer (V4 and Huntsman). Razer headsets and mice I own have worked fine.

I agree on the sound department. The mids are too low and the high end just doesn’t have enough detail. I did a comparison between the Corsair HS80 Max and the v4 Pro and the difference is massive to a point where I am shocked that such expensive headsets are tuned like this. The default presets are terrible. Low midrange performance, barely any detail, narrow soundstage and muddy sound. I have tried to EQ it but I simply cannot make them match the HS80 Max. Really disappointed because I do enjoy the haptics quite a damn lot.

Not gonna be a hot take on this thread but I have the Kraken V4 Pros and so far I love them. The haptics are a really cool feature... They actually sound better than my sennheiser's and are waaaaay louder. They are plenty comfortable and although a weak point in the few reviews I've seen is the mic... Mine sounds good. They also feel premium... Personally I'm happy with my choice. Then again I have a ton of Razer gear and like staying in the ecosystem. Sure they are on the pricey side but honestly used to that with Razer.

HD 650. I love them but they just aren't loud enough. I use them with a dac as well. The Kraken out of the box and being wireless just really surprised me.

Yes occasionally it's like a vibration. Don't think it's the actual speakers. Just rattles a bit with certain base. When I turn haptics off it also stops doing it. It's only occasionally though. Sounds like the plastic vibrating. Edit: also swapped out mine for that reason. Same thing this time but only on opposite side now. It's not super common so I can deal.

Hearing is definitely subjective. But I find myself laying in bed streaming music from my PC to the Krakens more than I use my 650s. I love loud punchy headphones a lot and these seem to satisfy both. All without losing quality. I messed with the EQ and fiddled a bit with the settings but I cannot for the life of me choose my 650s over the V4 Pro. Call me crazy!

It doesn't bother me enough to return. The sound quality is really good. It's not a game breaker for me unless it was really often.

Oh sure one of my dacs I can crank it super loud. Then it's "loud" enough but sounds like absolute garbage. I'm sure there are better dacs out there but from my experience this is what I see/hear.

I had the Nari ultimate and I loved the haptics for single player immersion. The build quality with the Nari is unfortunately very bad, and it stopped working for me completely last week so I went to get the kraken v4 pro. The kraken is a much better build quality and has decent if not better sound quality than the Nari but the only down side is that I feel the haptics is not as strong as the nari which is a bummer for me because I got these solely for the haptics. Another con is that while it copies the concept of the steel series pro line, it does not come with swappable batteries which is one of the best features a gaming headset could have, especially at the rate the kraken drains its battery with haptics and rgb. And because I have steel series pro headsets so I had been using steelseries GG software for audio mixs. I accidentally found out using the kraken with GG with its audio profiles for games makes the sound so much better than synapse.

I used razer kraken for years and was pretty happy with them, very comfy too However if you want really good audio get some seinheissers and a separate mic for chatting, non gaming headphones are way better quality and value for money, but often don't have a microphone

The setting is called 'Spatial Sound'...........use it if you want surreal audio in games and realistic channel distribution for movies and tv. But DO NOT double up on spatial surround. Most brands have their own active surround sound (5.1/7/1), if you use this AND Dolby Access..........it'll sound super wrong

Yeah the generic 'enhancement' driver is rubbish, disable ALL of those effects and just customise EITHER your Dolby Access app OR use the hardware Surround Sound 7.1 that most headsets come with. I believe if you use the Corsair ICUE app you can customise through there anyway (I bought the same headset as you for a instant replacement for when my Razer Kraken dies)

It is and I like that it operates very much the same as the Razer Kraken in that whilst the Corsair can deliver 24-Bit/96k sound (USB mode only), which is slightly better than the Razer...........you can still have 16-Bit/96k over wireless which is more than MOST people will ever need

Yeah Reddit is weird sometimes but seriously sound is a very important aspect in hunt, way more compared to other online fps. Main reason is, that a lot of sound cues gives you crucial information about your enemies - and based on that information you make decisions about movement, positioning etc. Without the valuable knowledge from the audio it’s almost as if you’d play blind. Even a set a cheap razer krakens will do the job. I personally bought the mmx 300 mostly for hunt.

I have these headphones, they hurt my ears and after an hour or so I'm constantly adjusting them to try and stop the ear pain. The sound is good enough but not nearly as good as the Razer Kraken's (R.I.P) they replaced.

Fifine H9 is an example of a headset with USB, however there are more options than it may seem. If you want USB, then search for 7.1 headphones, because they come with a dongle (with surround virtualisation). They can cost more than headsets and heaphones without it though. You can get a regular pair with a jack and add a USB dongle like for example apple dongle or Jcally JM20. If you need a mic, then Jcally JM20pro has a mic input. Apple dongle has mic input as well. The difference between Jcally and apple is the power output, which is higher for Jcally. It can make the headphones louder and also build quality is better. Apple dongle is somewhat delicate. Apple limits the output on non-apple devices. These two small dongles have very high audio quality for both headphones and the mic. There are even less expensive dongles from aliexpress and there's a lot of them, but it's hard to make sure which has a working mic. The cheapest that I found is 'Essager External USB Sound Card' for $2 on AliE. Logitech makes very lightweight and comfy headphones (ex. G432 and G335 which are now discounted), although they're also delicate and they break easily. For lightness they're hard to beat though. Well maybe JBL Quantum 100X, which is now discounted for $19. Razer Kraken is also popular for comofrt. Eksa E900pro is also this kind of comfy but chintzy model, but they have detachable cable... Maybe something like Jeecoo J70 is better although they're also not the sturdiest. Fifine H9 is better made and still lightweight. However you can also buy a mic and headphones separately. There are inline boom mics available. The benefits are that you are getting replaceable cable with a mic, so if something breaks you can just swap that one cheap thing and not the entire headset. Headsets with both the mic and the cable detachable usually cost more, but maybe you can find one. For a microphone I'd pick oneodio inline boom mic. With some discounts on aliexpress you can find it sometimes for like $8. You can also get it together with Oneodio A71d headset. If you want a noise canceling mic, then go for V-moda boom pro X. Comfort is subjective and some headphones clamp your head strong when they're new, but they stretch over time. You can also help them stretch faster if they have metal headband. I'm just saying in case you get something that may squeeze you. We all have different heads and some headphones are made to accomodate many people and they have that initial clamp. The plasticky headphones that sit softly, get very loose over time and they fall off your head, so you may want some clamp and some metal in the headband, so that they hold on to your head. Now you can pick some headphones like Fifine H8, t.bone, ISK, DNA, or anything else with a jack. Later you can find some nice earpads for them. You can find some big ones made of velour or linen. Pleather is used for headphones to have more bass and isolate your from expternal noise, but it also makes your ears sweaty in the summer. That's why I think it's better to buy cheap headphones and invest in nice, plushy earpads. You can wash them, ideally every couple of months, and they'll serve you well for longer than pleather earpads, that fall apart after a year.
