probably avoid anything from razer, especially because of their misogynistic advertising. a headset i currently have is the redragon zeus h510 in white and rose gold, i've had it for almost two years now and it's given me no problems
yep, sound and voice is pretty good for a budget headset that comes with a mic. gets the job done without breaking the bank :)
my partner and i game about 4 ft apart and he is an…enthusiastic gamer. if the issue is only hearing him, look for something noise cancelling (and maybe have a talk about your needs in shared space but idk). however, if the problem is picking him up through your mic, you’re kinda sol forevs 🫶 (unless you get your own gaming rooms, but in this economy?). i have my mic turned down quite a bit, and it’s simply inevitable. but the same goes for my voice getting picked up by his mic. so for the recs: if your goal is noise cancelling, get a set of beats studio pro. i’d never had a product with this feature until purchasing beats. i LOVE them for wanting to silence the world, but it does make your head feel funny sometimes (or maybe that’s just me idk). and then purchase a standing mic (tends to have more customizations on sound input than a headset mic i think). if your goal is to prevent him from getting picked up by your mic, i love my corsair virtuoso. but…looks like the pearl sold out. the mute button is on the bottom side of the mic. i will mute my mic when he gets REAL loud, out of respect for the fellow call members lol. it’s not noise cancelling, but it definitely dampens the external sounds. if you are looking for something a little more budget friendly, i really liked my red dragon headset (lasted almost five years, which is a long life for a headset). i had the zeus in white and pink (pink is subtle, but not screaming PINK). it’s not noise cancelling but the mute button is further down the cord (this is the only corded option presented), so it was easily accessible. hope this helps!
