Sennheiser - HD 550 with HD 500 BAM

I have this and the HD620s and its killer

Sennheiser HD550 with the HD500BAM has been working out VERY well for me vs the PC38X or H6Pro, ore even my 6XX with a Modmic. Fantastic combo, well built, great wide directional audio, and they’re great for music as well. The 505’s are supposedly great too (and I think they look fantastic with the copper accents.

The reviewers have all been talking about the new HyperX Cloud III S Wireless as being fantastic, but I personally haven’t heard it. People like Josh Valour and Joe at GadgetryTech have had pretty high praise for it, so that’s saying something. On the wired side of things, the Sennheiser HD560s with their new HD500BAM mic cable would be a KILLER combo. I’m currently using the HD550 with the HD500BAM and it’s fantastic. If you do go for the 560s, they are a neutral focused headphone, so not a ton of bass, but good accurate bass. The 550 is more expensive but has a richer, fuller sound signature and more bass than the 560, but almost double the price (in the US at least). Both do a great job with wide, positional audio and music.

I would say a large majority of players are ditching the gaming headsets, and picking up studio headphones, or IEM’s. Both of them can be paired with a mic. The main thing to look for in a headset is imaging. I myself use the Sennheiser 560s + HD 500 BAM mic.
