They use a higher quality when using the usb-c dongle, but the quality is on the lower end. The Sony Inzone, Jlab Epic Lab, and AKG N5 Hybrid all have a better mic with Jlab and AKG being the best. But the Gamer Buds mic is still better than most Bluetooth mics. I'd say it's close to like a airpods Pro quality. The advantage the gamer buds have is the 12 to 9 hour battery life per charge, wireless charging, physical buttons make controls easy to use, and it's just a couple click to swap between two devices on USB/Bluetooth. They have a fully custom EQ which is also nice and sidetone to help with hearing your own voice and ambient sound. But yeah I've gotten a few complaints with this mic I'm discord with my friends every once in a while. I don't know if I have a bad set or if my settings are affecting it, but they don't ever complain about my other buds. I've almost sold mine a few times but I've kept them around. They have one of the smallest lowest profile dongles that is also case friendly for phones and tablets and handhelds which I love. So yeah, probably the best overall value for a true gaming earbud. Edit: I will say if you buy these, try and get the Xbox version, they also work on Playstation. It works on everything. The Playstation version works on everything, except Xbox.

Yes! Was waiting for someone to say these. You can find these used for like $60 or less, they retail for $200. They're solid all around. 12 hour battery life, great bass because it uses the same xm5 drivers I think. No battery issues with these. Mic is high quality. Only two downsides. The case is huge if you travel with it, not a big issue. Then if the earbuds don't sense any input after about 15 minutes, the mic will automatically turn off, and the only way to get the mic working again is to drop the buds back in the case for a few seconds and then put them back in. At least this is the case with my pair.

My favorite higher end for sound quality, build quality, ANC/transparency, features, and mic quality? AKG N5 Hybrid. My favorite mid-range all around? Probably Steelseries Gamer Buds Artic X. Another good all-around are the Jlab Epic Lab. Let me know if you want them, I'm trying to sell them and I can post them on hardware swap. Best deal? Sony Inzone buds. I think you can still find these used for under $60, sometimes under $50. I wouldn't spend a full $200 price for brand new though. Best budget? Anker P10. New they are around $60, used they are around $30.

i tested the xm6 with my pc yesterday and i did not like it. after a crap ton of testing with open and closed back head phones and wireless gaming ear buds i have found the sony inzone buds were the best for me for the sound, sound staging and ambient mode. i use an external mic as well. i highly recommend it

i hear very bad things abou the steelseries ones, not on linux but just in general the quality is supposedly not that good and especially the mic is on the bad side. I only have experience with the sony inzone earbuds and basically i think they defaulted to the "chat" channel on linux, i had to swap the sink to get the "pro audio" working which is the gamechat, then since there was no software for it on linux, i kinda had to code my own, so i made a simple app for adjusting game/chat, muting mic and switching anc mode plus checking battery. if you care about such functionality you should google if anyone has coded anything similar for whatever you end up with.

This sums it up pretty nicely. I’d like to add Sony Inzone Buds to the list here. They have extremely low latency for PC, an amazing battery life, they’re comfy (for me), and since they’re earbuds, they work great with glasses and don’t interfere with any hair-dos. Sony’s software is shit though, and the media controls often don’t work as expected. Still worth checking out for low latency wireless gaming audio.

I have the Sony inzone earbuds and the only negative for me is that the easy mute on the controller doesn’t work with them

Sony Inzone buds are pretty good. I ended up going for them when deciding between the steelseries wireless buds and the Sony Inzones.
