Sony / PlayStation - Pulse 3D Wireless Headset

Just go with the 3D Pulse, they're cheap and have great audio. Have had mine since launch and no issues.

Been rocking the Sony Pulse 3D for the last 3 years I’ve had my PS5 and I’ve loved them. Swapped out the factory ear pads for a set of more comfortable cooling ones and never had an issue with comfort. I’m not deep in the audio world so they personally sound great.

Honestly the PlayStation Pulse 3D headphones are phenomenal, and very highly reviewed even compared to brands like SteelSeries

Don't dick around bud. Just get the PlayStation headset. Even the new PlayStation pulse 3d

Comfort is okayish but mic quality isn't good overall headset is good but when you screen record your gameplay you will notice the mic quality is bad

Do not get pulse elite. It is badly designed and essentially guaranteed to break. Look on reddit., And there is very little bass and if you eq it, it crackles. Old Pulse 3d was better all around.

Pulse 3D. Can buy used for cheap on eBay (make sure it includes the dongle which is unique to each headset!). We have multiple pairs - comfortable, affordable, stylish.

People don't know about this one but u /LifeLongCaboose sold me on these a few years ago with his *extensive* gaming headphones reviews. People need to read his stuff at r/gaming_headsets (Edit corrected subreddit rec) That said, I've actually appreciated the ease of use of the basic wireless PS5 pulse 3D ones. They sound quality as far as music worthy rich sound goes blows, but for sweaty footstep eavesdropping, they rock with the sound settings changed for quiet sound boost. That setting can obviously be used with other headphones, but I felt it was more just loudening things overall, rather than surgically picking out the quiet sounds. Its almost bad now because if I use those, I'll hear footsteps further away than I'm used to, and think someone 100m away is more like 30m. Anyway, the PC38X are amazing overall, and are just short of some nice open air audiophile music headphones I have.

Big fan of the arctis 7p. Very comfortable and good battery life. The pulse 3D is ok but the rubber ear muffs feel a little gross to me. Turtle Beach 700s are also nice but for some reason TB headsets and my WiFi do not get along and I constantly get noise dropping or crackling. This rarely happens with the other headsets

The ps5 pulse ones and I replaced the ear pads. They are decent.

Alright, I can provide some important context here. I can't believe comfort isn't a priority for people here.  I play on a monitor, not a tv so I need headphones/earphones. I did but the Pulse 3D and the sound is pretty good but it's really not comfortable for me. Thankfully I was able to return it. Your next (and more expensive) options are the Razer and Steelseries.  I didn't want to spend more money on headphones so I decided not to buy them. These would anyway just be for the PS and I don't have that kinda money.  Context: I have the Audio Technica ATH-M40 (wired) which I initially plugged into the controller and use. But it's a pain to have that wire dangling and I hated it. I tried switching to earphones but they're not fun for gaming.  I also had a Bose QC45 lying around but with no obvious way to connect it to the PS5. It is more comfortable than my already comfy M40s.  Someone had mentioned a UGreen adapter for connecting bluetooth headphones and after not finding more feedback than "it works" which was more than useless for me (give context people!), I decided to grab it since it wasn't that expensive.  This has been the perfect companion for me. I connect my Bose QC45 headphones to it and it connects without a hitch. I would not recommend it for rocket league or other competitive games but it's nominal latency won't be noticeable beyond 10 minutes of gameplay. I finished 3 games with these headphones connected with the UGreen adapter to the PS5 and i would highly, highly recommend it if you're only playing story games. F123 also works well and audio will not be the thing holding you back in this game.   ---  TLDR - Either get the Razer or Steelseries headphones. I bought the Epos H6Pro on Amazon for about 85€ some time ago on sale and I find it awesome for gaming. Nice immersive sound. Definitely beats my Sony PS5 Pulse 3D headset which I was using until then.

Depends on the game and if 3D surround sound is a part of it and makes the experience better or more authentic. Example, some games you wear them and can hear if something is coming up behind you. And I know a lot of people bash them, but I’ve had the ps pulse 3D headset for a couple years and I love it.

Sony Pulse 3d is awesome

I avoided them for years bc I thought they would be useless for me. I gave in and bought the wireless xbox headset for my series x out of curiosity and I loved it so much that I ended up buying the 3d pulse for ps5. Thought they were pretty cheap sounding/feeling, so I went with steelseries p7+ and they've been great. Xbox cans are my favorite bc they have a good amount of low end and the dials are so easy to use. I also bought the starfield variant as a backup. I have a fully discreet atmos setup that set me back a few grand, but sometimes the closeness of the cans are better bc they can be more immersive.

I have the pulse 3d for 2 years now… and it aged terribly the first year feels amazing but the battery life worsened so fast. And with time the plug for the headset loosened, making me wrap the cable in a specific angle to charge, earmuffs are easily teared. In the end maybe a 5/10

Nothing can be better than Pulse 3D headset around 5.5K for PS5 for now. I have been using them for years now and I have no complaints so far.

Yeah, not too bad for the price. Only thing is that after a long gameplay session my ears are really warm and the headphones become a bit uncomfortable.

No way, my 3D pulses sound like 7/11 ear buds compared to the elites. Granted… I think my pulses were bunk from the beginning, maybe defective, and so quiet. The Elites are amazing.

I was so excited to get these at Christmas time but the mute button right on the mic blows and they hurt my ears so I have already gone back to my pulse 3ds.

I have just acquired the sony pulse 3d headphones, and wow, what headphones they are, the sound is brilliant from them, so crisp and clear.

I used to have quest 2 , was amazing but i sold out later. My personal preference I don't like zuckber selling my data and sony (i have ps5) a hardware they will discontinue 1 year later. I almost buy valve index , but they said maybe come this year . Let's see

i have the sony 3d pulse, i used it alot when i bought them, but right now i have sick speakers with bass, so i use them more , but sometimes when i want to watch a good serie i put headset also when i used to play rb6s, i play only with headset. (caveira for lyfe)

Pulse 3D is pretty good and fits your budget nicely.

It's literally just soundstage and imaging. There's no such a thing as a "3D audio headphone.". There are headphones with good soundstage and imaging and poor soundstage and imaging. The irony? All the headphones that are marketed with "3D audio" like the Sony pulse 3D are actually pretty garbage when it comes to soundstage, although they do have decent imaging. Except for the Pulse Elite, that one is garbage on both ends. Just do yourself a favor and don't buy gaming headphones.

I agree but I can't find headphones that don't give me a headache after about 40 minutes. Gave my ps5 pulse ones to my girl and bought a steelseries to see if it would be better but it's not unfortunately.

Sony's pulse headsets are excellent.

Ive had mine since launch, not had an issue with it. I wonder what the fail/braking rate is as I often dee people saying the main stem broke for them.

I like my Pulse hs, sound quality is great, but the constant disconnects are so annoying. Is there any way to improve / fix this that anyone knows of ? Thx 👍

Yes I’ve returned and had no less than 3 Pulse headsets now. I’m resigned to just put up with it now, cause the actual sound quality is great. But yes, I’m out of ideas, I don’t know if the Bluetooth connection is being interfered with by other devices, but I’ve put my Pro in 2 (completely) different locations and it’s still basically just the same.

Ty, I am just trying fiddling about with some router settings, specifically 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz as I heard some folks say that because the dongle uses 2.4 it might be getting interference. So I’m trying to set the router to use 5ghz to see if that helps. Fun lol ! Anyway thanks and GL to you 👍

Yep I think so. 👍. Pro is such a great console but they messed up with the dongle somehow.

Not only that but a broken two in the same spot now and went back to the regular pulse just to be told by my friends I keep breaking up and dropping mid sentence. It’s fucking annoying. I need something new. I enjoyed having my headphones connect to my phone or laptop and my PlayStation though. That was cool while it lasted. I’ll never buy another set of Sony headphones in my life.

Terrible unfortunately. The pulse is built better than the elite but worst tech inside. Constantly being told my mic is cutting out mid sentence. The elite was good but the side parts above the ear cup breaks every single fucking time. Which is why I’m here after my third set of elites and now a third set of pulses. I’m tired of it man. I get that your not having an issue but the elite is made factually worst with design issues and constantly disconnects mid game, forcing you to get up and fiddle with it. It’s actual bullshit. I’m really mad about it. Which is why I’m here on this thread looking for something new.

Official Sony ones, pulse are great. I paid £70 for mine check online maybe eBay

Got the Pulse headset at launch and have probably used it 3 times max 😩
