That's a shame. I've had the original pulse for like forever and still looks and works brand new. I was worried that the cushions would ware down by now but nah and I use them basically every day. Glad I didn't bother with the elite then!
Yeah, the white plastic is thin as shit, especially for their “more expensive” headset. I had two of them break now (because with the first I genuinely thought it had to be my own misuse since my OG Pulse from PS4 was still in better condition) but it happened the second time and I realized it’s just Sony cutting cost. Never trust a headset that goes UNDER the VR band
Sony's pulse headsets are excellent.
Ive had mine since launch, not had an issue with it. I wonder what the fail/braking rate is as I often dee people saying the main stem broke for them.
The faux leather on Sony headsets start to peel and reveal the cushion inside after awhile and it looks fugly. I wish they get better faux material. Maybe I need to rub some leather cleaner on them to keep them looking fresh longer, IDK. Thats my only issue with Sony Pulse (im on my 2nd pair because the peeled faux leather looked so bad after 6 months I just threw them away). I use headset 97% of time I game, while the other 3% is when im charging or have company while playing on TV.
Good sound yes but terrible build quality
Love the pulse. No issues thankfully. I’ve had the Sony headset for ps3, 4, and now 5 with no major issues besides peeling.
Yes I will testify to Sony headset build quality. I’ve had the pulse and pulse elite (2 pairs each) elite were SO GOOD as far as audio but keep snapping at the headband. Went up to the H9II’s and it’s a step above with system integrations and audio but I treat them like glass given my history with.
Mine started to lose the BT connection randomly. Took several minutes to get the USB thingy to work. (USB slot is fine in PS5) Had both Pulse1 and PE ones. After one year or few months they both broke.... Never did anything to them. No throwing or handling them rough.
