Steelseries Arctis nova 5p. They cost about £130. I have had so many sets of wired headsets and either the mic breaks or the cable screw up, or they are cheap and I sit on them or something. So I thought I would get wireless ones and I honestly can't complain. The battery life is amazing and the sound quality is great. You can spend more but to be honest I don't know what I am missing with the more expensive ones so couldn't say. But it's mad, you can hear whether someones above you, behind you etc, mad.

Have been through many, can highly recommend SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P Wireless Gaming Headset and i use them for both pc and ps dayz. Comfortable for extended hours of use easily. Pull out mic, and easy mute button as well. It actually has a dayz setting as well and the 3d directional sound is unbeatable. https://preview.redd.it/2shgioixpyaf1.jpeg?width=1320&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dcaaa085913d5893203111901e0f5a6ba425791d

SteelSeries Arctis 5P has been my go-to for the past few months. The sound quality is great for both gaming and streaming, and it has a really solid mic that picks up my voice clearly without too much background noise. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2YBKD62](https://links.findgoodlist.com/SteelSeries-Arctis-5P) It’s super comfortable for long sessions too, with nice padding on the ear cups and headband. What I value most in a headset is comfort first, then sound quality second. I use a standalone mic, so I can't comment on the mic quality, but as far as comfort and sound quality for the price go, it's a fantastic purchase. Super comfortable - and with my previous headset lasting five years, I’ll gladly keep coming back to SteelSeries[. ](https://www.reddit.com/r/PlaystationPortal/comments/1cw8qou/comment/m0uvidr/) Battery lasts almost all week long its insane. The sound is good and loud, comfortable on the ears and head, perfect connectivity, haven"t dropped or lost sound a single time, excellent headset. No complaints!

ahh, on the nova 5p wireless the mic can be retracted or pulled out, it can then be bent closer to your mouth, not to sure of the 7p. i like the mic passthrough where i can hear myself a bit, helps to know if im muted or not. its a stepup from my last headset which was a cheap $40 hyperx playstation headset. although it contained some metal i feel that if i keep this on my headphone stand and keep good care of it, it should last awhile. i bought it for $90 using my employee discount at walmart so i cant be mad as they normally cost $120+tax and wasnt trying to break the bank. i needed wireless as i have my pc a fair bit away and i would frequently get up or move and tug on the aux port and didnt want it to break.

Also I just realised you said PS5, unless he sits at a desk then headphones and a seperate mic probably wouldn't be the best idea. If he's a couch gamer then regular gaming headphones with a built in mic would be a better option. I really liked these Steelseries Arctis Nova 7P headphones. The 5P are also decent. There's also tons of options out there for headbands and earcups to customize them. This is a problem I faced a month ago, my first Xbox and i learned the bad way that you cannot connect anything good directly, you need a DAC approved by Microsoft, I think only the mix/amp (I got it and I could never made it work, no updates available anymore) and the steelseries gen 2 (this is the one that worked for me)… then you can connect anything non-Xbox approved (everything made for Xbox is shit)… then you can connect any headphone… unfortunately the dac itself is about 100 USD… with a very basic iems you will get a much better experience ( around 20 usd) vs any “gaming headphone”… over ear I suggest you go for an open back headphone (maybe kiwi ears altruva) but it would never be close to 50 usd with good quality… you would love the IEMs, it is a game changer vs any gaming headphone you ever tried. I had the Astro a50 and they are awful compared to a 20 usd iem… a good overear headphone made for high quality music will also be a game changer but you will need to invest a bit more… I almost forget, mic is a challenge, you can connect the iem to the controller directly but the mic might not work…. That is why I needed a dac… also consider to do some tuning on Xbox Dolby atmos depending on what you are playing… some IEMs have a very high treble which can be a bit annoying. Chat gpt can make the work for you. Good luck, I wanted a simple wired headphone with a mic and I ended up spending 200 usd to make it work (dac, cheap IEMs, trrs splitter and a boyu mic) … I was that happy that I upgraded immediately to a better IEMs and good over ear headphones

Steelseries. My partner and I both love our Steelseries headsets and other Steelseries peripherals. They're Danish I believe. The mic is retractable, not removable. My partner uses his headset for work as well as gaming, and they both come in black and white. They're both wireless. Both of our headsets have removable, replaceable, changeable ear pads and elastic headbands. The elastic headband prevents excessive pressure on any singular part of your scalp, and I'm pretty sure you can wash them. I just sewed little sleeves for mine, so fresh vibrant hair dye won't stain it. Bonus: if you're a tiny person with a small head and neck problems, the Arctis Nova 5 is pretty lightweight for a wireless headset, while maintaining good audio quality.

mantra: comfort + mic quality > flashy features a lot of headsets with gimmicks sound okayish and they start pinching after an hour. and bad mic clarity just frustrates teammates. i’ve seen you’ve already filtered the list for comfort and mic quality. out of these i’d recc the \[nova 5s\](https://SmartChoice-Hub.github.io/Grab/?to=the\_best\_gaming\_headset\_to). cos they got soft ear cups for clean audio & clear mic quality. solid for both fps & rpgs. any useful features on other ones to change my opinion??

Just got these and kinda waved off the small ear cups comments I saw around but they are really small. They are a bit uncomfortable until you get used to them. Audio leaves something to be desired even with eq balance I found online. But it's a very good budget wireless option if you don't plan to use it for hardcore games(hearing footsteps and foliage) then its good.

I was using my Sony MDR-7506 with my Shure SM7B for a while and the sound and mic quality was obviously top notch. But I eventually just switched back to a good ole Steel Series Nova 5 wireless gaming headset because I love being able to get up and move and leave my desk without taking off my headset. I also like being able to talk to my buddies without having my mouth right next to a stationary mic. I like that the headset mic just is next to my mouth at all times even if my head is moving or I’m across the room turning off a lamp or whatever. So am I getting as good of audio or mic quality? No but it’s worth it for the convenience and comfort. I don’t like how I have to be sitting straight up and down in front of my mic to chat with buddies. Sometimes I like to sit back in my chair if it’s a more casual game, then I have to move the mic or would have had to buy a mic arm that hooks to the desk. I was using one of those mini mic stands that you place on a desk top instead of an adjustable mic arm like what podcasters use.

Ear cups are very small. GG software is hot garbage (full of unnecessary junk and adds) I'd use it to update firmware and EQ then delete forever. They are super light and comfortable. USB-C charging and battery life are good. Didn't work on PC for me because of bad firmware had to return and go back to my Arctis 7 (similar design).

Nova 5 - are switchable BT and 2.4ghz - you can't have both at the same time - so won't be what you need? I got the Nova Pro Wireless due to this \[you can stream 2.4ghz and BT same time\] and had zero issues with them - they work great and sound great too!

You should love the Nova Pro Wireless - really great once you get the EQ locked in \[helps they have a few presets on the GameDAC\] - I chose them over more expensive ones - due to being able to connect to Xbox and PS5 through the DAC and easy switching. I was playing TLOU part 2 - and you could hear someone breathing behind a tree lol I've had the Nova 5 \[great headset and app control\] - but it didn't do simultaneous BT - so upgraded to the Nova Pro Wireless. I also have the Gamebuds \[for VR\] - again great buds :)

I find the 3p detachable mic to be so intrusive id settle for the nova 5 honestly could go for 2 days straight heavy use (im talking like 48 hours battery life speaking from experience) without charging and you barely notice the mic it has and the mics great too has an option for 2.4 and bluetooth pairing too. Little to no downsides but ye steelseries has been a solid brand for me i had a arctis 3 that lasted me for 6 years just replacing the wires it needs until the mic finally gabe out

I bought it a month ago and here are the pros: - Great sound quality which is heavily customizable with the SteelSeries GG app - Can connect to one device with the USB dongle and another with Bluetooth at the same time - Good quality build. Seems sturdy. - I like the retractable mic. It also has this feature where it plays your voice back to you. This removes that whole complete sound isolation issue where you don't know how loud you're talking because you can't hear your own voice. Cons - Although GG app allows customization, it creates multiple sound profiles on Windows which is a pain to organize for all the different programs you may use. - I struggle to get it connected wirelessly after it disconnects. - it's less comfortable than my older hyper x cloud 2. Starts hurting my ears after an extended period of time.

r/steelseries • Wireless SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 ->

I think it might have to do with it creating multiple sound profiles. I click the button and the green light turns on, I can see sounds playing on screen (like a youtube video) but no sound comes out of the headphones. I then need to close the headphone, long press the power button until it turns green again, then it connects. Its not a pairing issue as I've paired it but just cumbersome I have to do this every time. And the online guide/user guide isn't helpful either. Maybe I have a defective unit as I don't see other people have this problem.

Personally, I really like this headset. Sound isn't fantastic, but good. Battery is awesome. Other features like rotating earcups, bluetooth, mute indicator, retractable microphone. The only two problems I had: 1. Small earpads. I always felt how my lower part of ear touches the earcup. Just a little bit, but I was annoyed so much about it. I got used after several days. 2. Quiet microphone. My friends told me that I am too quiet all the time. I found the solution by setting compression in the steelseries software to the max.

Its'a shame, Poor quality Builds , Poor Audio , nothing ( immersive here with this ones , so avoid if youre planning buy for audio. Mic cheap build , but good sound when talking( im not sure with the fiability , 6month im pretty sure mic will start to be problem.. thats my guess cuz so cheap.) im from Razer BlackShark v2 pro and nothing comparable here , better mic/better audio in all aspects , Bluetooth doesnt worthg it with nova 5 cheap too .. so Nova5 its a budget headphone thats it. if you want spent 200$ on headphone avoid this ones dont worth the prices. im really disapointed . 2/10 for nova 5. im sending them back to get back my blackshark back or kraken v3 who know. Ps: so headache for nothing. Go Razer plug and enjoys. Keyboard/mousse SteelSeries is still my way to go tho ! also\* Hyercloud x2 get better Audio for quality too so dont buy nova 5 you will still be disapointed.

Hey! I just bought a pair of steelseries arctis nova 5 and i paired them to my pc via the 2.4ghz dongle. However, the left ear audio is a tiny bit muffled compared to the right and it's horrible. I used to keep my volume wheel on the headset to around 20-25% and leave windows on 100% since that's what i got used to on my old arctis 5. I found out that on the whole span of the volume wheel rotation there is ONE TINY SPOT that if i put it correctly de-muffles the left and the headset sounds fine. That spot is at around 95% volume on the wheel so i did that and turned windows down to like 40%. If i move the wheel microscopically up or down it gets muffled again.

Eh, as someone that's been using headphones with a standalone mic for years: just grab a mediocre gaming headset if you don't want hassle. A desktop microphone can be annoying to setup (mine is Scarlet Solo + AT-2035) and typically hang out in your peripheral vision. Bluetooth headphones have noticeable latency that disorient me. So I've been using wired headphones with an Antlion ModMic (wireless) attached. Works, but honestly I hate cables. Been waiting for years for a decent 2.4GHz set of non-gaming headphones but no one wants to make them. Finally caved a couple days ago on a SteelSeries Nova 5. Yeah it's worse than my old setup but completely useable and I still have my old setup if I ever want to go audiophile for something. It's not a big deal.

I’ve had my steelseries nova 5 for about 7 months. The usb doesn’t work anymore. It just makes a nonstop sound screeching sounds whenever a sound it played through them. That happened within the first month of having them. I’ve been using the Bluetooth bc it still sounds amazing. For the last two months, the quality drops sooo much randomly. It also likes to randomly make all the sounds seem very far away. I’ve tried to figure out how to fix it and haven’t been able to. I do not recommend this one in particular. I’ve heard a lot of people have the same problems as I do. My bf has the pro and it seems to be amazing. If you’re going with steelseries, just save for the pro

I have several pairs of high end headphones and amps, but I game with an Arctis Nova 5 headset because it sounds fantastic for the price and I like to be able to walk around my house without leaving the conversation in my group. It's also the most comfortable headset I've owned and the pads stay pretty cool, I can easily use it for several hours at a time. If 150 pound is actually your budget I wouldn't get a different wireless set, they all sound pretty mediocre in that range and the Arctis is probably one of the higher quality ones - I'd get a wired Fiio FT1 it will be miles above anything else in that range

This sub really likes complaining about their steelseries headsets. I have been using my Nova 5 both outside and when I’m playing. I just threw it in my backpack all the time and had no issues at all. Just enjoy your new headset!! I’m sure you will like it.

Youre spending too much considering you arent even picky about the tiny details. Ngl all of these are pretty good options but their specs go way beyond your requirements. Like the nova pro has got audiophile drivers and anc, both of which you wont even utilize. I think their nova 5 might actually be better for you cuz they cover all the basics for gaming n stuff without any extra af features. So its a bit cheaper too. Also the battery life is good but make sure you dont over use it or it will start draining super fast.

I actually just went from some old Hyperx cloud stingers to the Arctis Nova 5 a couple months ago. Two main negatives so far: * Charging is super finicky. With my hyper x I would take them off and plug them in and never once had an issue. With the Nova 5 for whatever reason it sometimes just doesn’t charge. I’m not sure if I just have a faulty headset, but it is extremely annoying to get home from work ready to game and have my headset be dead. * the Steelseries device management app is pretty bad The positives: * extremely comfortable, even for long periods of use * excellent battery life when fully charged Overall pretty satisfied with my purchase. The battery issue is annoying, but hasn’t caused too many issues.

Cloud alpha wireless sound awful, but no wireless headphones that function off of a USB dongle are going to sound good and Bluetooth headphones have too much input lag for gaming unless you're playing single player titles. Arctis Nova are the least bad imo, but I've just given up on wireless headphones for now. I used to call my wireless HyperX headset my tin cans because they sounded like tin cans and the mic quality was worse than my laptop webcam's

Artic nova pro 5. I have a big head, and with the VR headset + the artic pro on, they fit nice a snug and don't fall. Very comfortable

I use a steelseries arctics nova. I got it fairly recently (like a month ago) and i can hear the smallest of sounds when I play pretty darn well. It's also fairly lite weight and has a long battery life.

Yes. Headset with amazing sound stage for 3d audio is incredibly detailed and immersive. Try a 3d audio game with any set of headphones you might have lying around. (I use an old set of fairly chunky hi-fi headphones). Buying a new headset I concur with other people who said Arctis steelseries with the 40mm "Nova" drivers. I honestly thought they would be a bit rubbish, at least a step down from the previous 50mm in bass. But wow, they're surprisingly good. I have a sort of neckband thing for VR racing, it feels like a HANS device and gives a sort of personal bubble of surround sound. It's a bit of a unique case, but I picked it up cheaply and it makes a huge difference (not isolated, not loud, and not TV speakers).

Do you want a head*set* or a head*phone*? The Sennheiser Momentum 4 is great but the ANC is weak.  If you want a head*set* I’d up the budget slightly for a Fractal Scape. The Arctis Nova series is also solid, from my own demos. This is coming from someone who owns and has tried much more expensive gear, if that makes you any more comfortable with my recommendation.

I have the arctic nova wireless. And it’s been the best bit of money I’ve spend in ages. It’s so easy being wireless and in my opinion it’s ridiculously comfy. I’ve been playing for many years now and it’s just by the best I’ve had

I had no luck finding a decent all pink headset. But I really love my current headset. I have the Steelseries Arctis Nova in white! You can swap out some of the white parts with pink accessories they sell. Like [this](https://steelseries.com/gaming-accessories/nova-booster-pack?color=rose-quartz). You can also buy replacement ear cups from third parties that are pink in color!

Are you still enjoying them as much? How fast do they recharge if they run out? I use my headphones quite a bit and one of the best things I find with the arctis novas is I can just fast swap the battery, but I'd love having a smaller (and portable) solution in general.

Make sure to try on a headset that has a web across the top so it's not hard plastic on the top of your head. I have the steelseries arctis novas and they're so much more comfortable than my previous pair.

just adding to that as I had both 2 APW and tried to upgrade to Nova, Nova is... not user-friendly. \-If you get one of the earlier models the thubs inside of the ear muffles are too big and they will be uncomfortable to wear \-If you're low on battery (15% and less) it will start beeping every minute but 15% is like 1-2 hours of lifetime for this headset. \-Changing the battery is a nightmare, there's a hot-load function where it automatically turns back on when you switch batteries fast enough but you have to be fast and it's not designed to be easily interchangable (battery facing the wrong side compared to the hub, hard to insert, etc) \-I've been using it for a little under a year, my microphone suddenly got quiet and now people hear me 30% less well Next time I get a headphone I'm just buying an APW with it. Just make sure you do not sleep with it AND most importantly, do not play with the button to mute too much as it will wear out quickly if you are not careful.

I have had SS and HyperX different products from these but i think they both had their advantages and disadvantages. ultimately i went the with SS and glad i did, the comfort of the headset is really what sells me on this brand and the audio for me i find it to be better than the hyper x. The SS is the wireless novas and the hyper x was the naruto edition clouds which now just serve as decoration in the crib.

I'm replacing my virtuouso with the nova. The v's cups are too small for my ears and the headband fatigues my skull, they are super heavy aswell. I did like the build quality and the detachable mic though. Battery has been dieing much quicker after a year but that could be my fault.

I have the SteelSeries Arctis 7 and SteelSeries Nova. The Nova is lighter and more comfortable if you have a bigger head. Unfortunately, even on the smallest setting my head is too small for it and it slides off easy. The Arctis 7 is heavier but because of the ski goggles band fits on my head very well. I mainly use the Arctis 7. I’ve had SteelSeries for many years and can’t imagine switching anytime soon.

Dunno what headsets you've been using but I'm on my 3rd SteelSeries headset since I've been buying them since 2015. First pair I bought which is the Siberia v2s (iirc) are still working beautifully and I use them with my PS5 when I travel for work. My second pair is an arctis wireless pair, forget the model, but they only got replaced because I was given my current ones as a Christmas present. Zero issues ever.

What headset you recommend? Currently have a hypercloud 2 and it´s breaking down as I´ve got it for 8 years now lol, bought the hypercloud 3 and it´s whack, literally feeling pressure on my ears and the microphone is bad. Tried arctic steelseries and even that one felt like pressure on my ears.
