I have the OG headset that came out with the PS5 and for me the fit is terrible. It’s constantly falling off my head. I’ve started using my Bose headset and plugging it into my controller.
$600 is steep to most, but for a product I will be using about every single day it’s justifiable to me. Also I used to buy $200 turtle beaches every 1-2 years before they broke. Never had an issue with longevity on the Nova Pro’s and am hoping the same for these
I had the stealth 700 gen 2 and after a year of owning them they would be intermittent going out and losing connection and then mic functionality would just entirely stop working
Turtle beaches I had the stealth 700 Gen 2 awhile back, while they sounded nice, they absolutely killed my head when wearing glasses, literally it hurt to wear them because they indented my glasses frames into my skull lol. These just out of comfort alone take the win
Well there is a reason they have different priced headsets for all wants/needs. I’d rather spend money on something that will last instead of a turtle beach headset I used to have before these that was $200 and would break after a year of use
I don't know of any non gaming headsets that connect to Xbox. Connecting the Xbox without a dongle needs Xbox specific stuff that will only be on gaming headsets that have the right Xbox licensing. The Xbox won't necessarily recognise a device just because you connect a dongle either so I would check that with the headset manufacturer before buying one. I had the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 which I got the month they were first released and was very happy with them. They lasted right up until the month the Gen 3 versions came out (despite being dropped badly enough to crack the casing a couple of times in the first month). So I just switched to those and am just as happy. I've no issues with hearing anything in Hunt. Turtle Beach are far more comfortable than any alternative I've tried for ppl who wear glasses. That may or may not apply to you. My only complaint is that you can't use the phone app whenever a firmware update is available and the firmware update requires you connect your headset to an Xbox, PC and phone at the same time. It's a minor inconvenience for me since I rarely use my personal laptop so have to find where my kid has left the bloody thing every so often. But it would be a big issue if I didn't have a laptop/PC. Tbh though, I rarely need to use the phone app. Occasionally I'll accidentally mash the headphone buttons and spin all 3 volume wheels so lose track of where everything is. Having the app to be able to get better visual indicators of the settings makes getting the balance back where I like it much easier. If you do go with Turtle Beach, I wouldn't go cheaper than the Stealth 600s. One final tip, follow the advice Crytek gave recently. Either use Cryospacial and turn off any audio enhancement built into the console or use the built in audio enhancement and turn off Cryospacial. Picking Stereo Uncompressed in the Volume & Audio Output menu is how you turn off the built-in enhancements on Xbox. I used Cryospacial for a good while and found it worked well. But I play too many games and got sick of turning Windows Sonic on and off so I've switched to just using that now. Either option works well.
I've enjoyed the last two generations of the turtle beach stealth 700s. Just stepped up to the gen 3 because the transmitter was becoming an issue with the gen 2. Great battery life, dual connectivity, and everything else is literally great. The only downside is if you have more than one pair in the same household they tend to have an issue connecting to their respective transmitters but that's not a giant issue for most people. Turtle Beach has been great on the service end of things as well for me
I have the stealth 700 v2. It works well for me.
Whatever yall do dont even waste your money on the turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2. I had a pair for about a year which eventually stopped powering on. Got a replacement through warranty just for them to show up and not power on/ charge. Did a hard rest and the volume button wouldn’t work on em which I looked into and seemed to be a common issue on them.
