"the ability to be wireless to my pc and connect my phone at the same time is awesome. ... I can accept phone calls and still listen to whatever is on the pc. ... Sounds small but really nice to be able to check instagram or something in between ques and having full audio in the headset. ... Or a phone call comes in and you can answer without have to stop playing."

"sound AMAZING with bass that can literally rattle your head"

"The difference in audio filling a three dimensional space going from normal audio to Dolby Atmos is night and day, and I consistently hear directionally better than my friends in Tarkov (when Tarkov audio wants to work)"

You should use Badseed Tech or Gadgetry Tech on YouTube for your headset reviews then. Both of these guys talk specifically about the cup width, height, depth, and head fitment in every review. Badseed Tech guy has a pretty big noggin and will always evaluate that. If I were you, I would watch Badseed Tech's review of the Fractal Scape. It meets all of your criteria but I can't remember if he said it was comfortable for him or not. I've had the Astro A50 Gen 4 for a lot of years and found it very comfortable. The Gen 5 is like an identical chassis but they made the earcups smaller for some inexplicable reason. Since they didn't change anything on the physical product, all the dozens of replacement pads on the market for the years old Gen 4 fit the Gen 5 headphones perfectly and all of them have bigger ear openings. Nothing can be done about the headband though except there are better padded ones on the market.

I just got these I have the a50x and the nova pro 9 and the maxwells and these are my go to for fps. I just like that I can listen to music or watch videos on my phone while gaming. The software it's still in beta but it's been working fine for me. Plus they are super comfy can game for hours. And the foot steps are clear I can follow the enemy behind the wall. I don't use the mic because I have a stand alone mic on my desk but love that it's detachable and battery life is infinite. Haven't changed it since I got it and I play daily 6-8 hours. And it's still at 83 percent. Also I love that I can mute the headset on the DAC.

Astro A50’s are the most comfortable pair of headphones I’ve ever owned

Yo, I just went through this process. Unfortunately, all the wireless gaming headphones are lack luster in some way. Maxwell was the closest to what I wanted but went through two broken pairs so there's quality issues with the current versions and they're heavy. Corsair Virtuoso XT are great for FPS shooters and with an EQ actually have decent sound for media consumption but they get blown out of the water by professional headphones, and the battery is really bad and have to charge 1-2 times a day, mic imo is decent. Astro A50x is good with everything but sound. In FPS games I was missing so much detail compared to other headphones with them. I bought myself a Fiio BTR17 portable amp and now settled with Sennheiser HD 490 pro with a 4.4mm balanced cable. The portable amp makes the wired headphones into a wireless setup. I keep the amp in my pocket with the wire down my side, but Im thinking of even other methods like attaching the amp to the side of the headphone and using a very short cable. I added a Tonor microphone: [https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DG2RSR77](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DG2RSR77) attached to the side of the headphones which has great sound quality. Also got a bluetooth USB that makes the wireless range ridiculously good. I like this set up because it's the best sound and microphone quality while keeping it wireless. I should throw in that the HD 490s are insanely comfortable and light headphones. People praise them for the comfort and I absolutely agree, you sometimes forget you're even wearing them because they fit like a glove. You can't even compare the sound quality of gaming headphones (apart from Maxwells) to professional headphones like the 490s. I can hear details, subtelties and separate sounds with them that you can't with most gaming headphones. Only draw back is having to charge the microphone and amp separately, and having to turn bluetooth on/off in windows settings at launch so it pairs with my amp (but could probably fix that with a script that launches when windows starts). I tried the MMX 330 pro before the HD 490 and that is very good if you don't mind wired.

Astro A50s, used to use them on my PS4 too and they’re still amazing. There’s an updated Gen 5 of them now too. They’re also much more comfortable than any steelseries headset for me

If you are looking for a wireless 'gaming' headset, and are used to a more neutral tune, like your Sennys, you have to do some research on which headsets come close to that. Out of the box, most gaming headsets have a weird tune compared to what you're used to, including all Razers. Some more recent notable wireless gaming headsets that sound great from an 'audiophile' standpoint are the Audeze Maxwells, Astro A50X, and Hyper X Cloud 3 S Wireless. Those come out of the box with a great tune, close to the Harman curve. You can also get a lot of other headsets to sound great with some EQ. Something like the Fractal Scape or Nova Elite sound great with a modest EQ. GadgetryTech on YT offers awesome 'audiophile' EQs for a lot of headsets. Also, if you are using a modern gaming headset, make sure you have any corny 'surround sound' or spatial type features turned off. Since you've been using the same set for 16 years, you also have to give some time to adjust to the sound of a new headset. Even something slightly different might sound a bit weird at first if you aren't that experienced with different audio products overall. Many people still totally write off any wireless 'gaming' headsets, and imo that perspective is outdated in 2025. You can get really awesome, low latency audio quality with wireless headsets these days. Yes, for absolute dollar spent, you can get the best 'value' by sticking with a wired setup, but if you value the convenience or features from a wireless setup, you *can* get a great sounding setup if you're willing to do some research and drop the coin.

Wireless 'gaming' headsets don't use bluetooth. Also the Maxwells sound incredible from an audiophile standpoint. You should update your viewpoint with whats currently avalable.

Honestly the best headphone I ever used for gaming was Astro A50. Sound , bass and comfort was amazing. The only problem I had with it is that it keeps malfunctioning

Eh. I ended up with the Arctis and not bad. Still miss my Astros but more control and better audio with Arctis. Mic quality on my end is kinda ass and it sometimes disconnects when I first turn the PS5 on.
