Based on 1 year's data from Jan 25, 2026 How it works
Been using Aula F87 pro for a few months now, it's pretty good keyb, nice thocky sound, decent customisation, triple connectivity option. GG
if you can change the settings on the keyboard itself, you don't need the software. And in many cases, you can set settings in windows and use it on linux. That's what I did for my Aula F87
I have an aula f87, wired and 2.4g works flawlessly on linux, didn't test bluetooth but I'd assume it also works. I didn't really check out the control software (not that it works in linux) but you can control the lights a decent bit with key combinations built into the keyboard
Aula F75/87/99 depending on your persuasion. Best bang for your buck.
aula f75 and aula f87 you can get under 6k personally i like its build quality or you can get aula 2022 and s99 under 2k
Sell the brother and get yourself a nice keyboard I don't know steelseries that well but on a 60 to 80 euro budget I'd recommend the aula f87 pro
I’ve been using the AULA F87 for a while now, and I’m honestly impressed with how good it feels to type on. The keys are smooth and cushioned, and the hot-swap feature lets me tweak switches whenever I want. It’s compact, sturdy, and the PBT keycaps feel premium for the price. Id also personally prefer a keyboard where the shift key is not right next to the arrow keys. If you want a solid budget mechanical keyboard, I’d definitely recommend it. https://preview.redd.it/atpl7o7zk16g1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fe6505778b2fb144176708cc830a05bf329ed19
if you mainly just want a board that won’t feel like a downgrade while staying under $120, the f87 pro keeps popping up for a reason. it’s comfortable to type on, the wireless modes actually work, and the build doesn’t feel flimsy. not mind-blowing or anything, just reliable and easy to live with. fwiw my mate and i looked at some long-term comments too, and people seemed pretty happy with how it held up over time compared to other budget options. same affiliate disclaimer.
I would always recommend to get a TRIO mode, you may never know a time comes when you need to show off to people that hey look its got bluetooth, dongle, and wired USB C hehe xD. But when you get such connectivity, why not. I have 1 AULA F87 pro and its a beast. Easy to carry to office, just slide the switch and it works. i am trying to replace my current GMMK with F108 Pro or a Keychron Q6 based on price factor and whichever launches first.
My wife bought the Aula F87 Pro due to the cheap price; it's actually a really decent keyboard and she likes that it can be switched from USB wireless to bluetooth (she works with 2 different PCs at the same time), so she doesn't need a second keyboard. She does not have the bluetooth problem like you mentioned though. Doesn't sound bad too in its original form, no mods done. The battery bar only on the F87 is quite nice to have for battery life.
