You may wait a little to buy during Black Friday, keychron K8 HE or K2HE can be a good choice, they are selling at around 130-140 now probably get to around 100 during on sale. Software of keychron is good which is important for a HE keyboard, the main drawback is its 1k pulling rate instead of 8k of some other brands but I can’t feel a difference. I have tried Aula Hero 84HE (around $70) but it got plenty room of improvement in terms of software and typing feel. If you don’t need HE, there are many budget options

Chinese keyboards are deemed budget, but in reality they are just value. For 55-60$ after tax you are able to buy a really nice keyboard off of Aliexpress, like aula f75/s75/hero 84he. If you see comparable western keyboards, they all start at 100-120$. Add tax (25-30%), add shipping (30$) and you are looking at 200$ keyboard which is basically the same, but with "better" drivers. There is scarcely any value in that. Something fancy is 200, 250, 300$ + tax, but hey, they will spare you the shipping ! It is an expensive hobby and small differences in quality cost a lot. Sometimes it's liie audio-voodoo selling audiophile cables.

Hey everyone, here’s my take on the AULA HERO84HE after some solid usage: 📦 Unboxing & First Impressions * Included in the box: manuals, 2 extra switches, keycap-puller, L-shaped braided USB-C cable, stylish ribbon handle, bonus dust cover. * The keyboard looks **very good**: side-engraved PBT keycaps, a purple top light bar, decorative metal side plates, USB port on the left with ribbon handle. Back has rubber feet, flip-out feet, clean branding. ⚙️ Key Specs & Features * Magnetic switches (adjustable sensitivity & trigger) * Polling rate up to **8 kHz** with 0.01 mm RT precision. * Five sound-dampening layers. * Hot-swappable switches. * Full RGB with web-based software. * Available in 75% and 65% layouts. ✨ Aesthetics & RGB * Plug it in and the RGB is **very visible** and looks great 10/10. * Keycaps are designed for light-emission, great glow through top and side legends, but there are variety of keycap styles so you might wanna pick one per your preference, * If you’re picky about RGB, This is your FINAL BOSS. 🔊 Sound & Typing Experience * Although typing feels smooth and good the switches are **loud and clacky ,** {My only personal dislike} * The board uses a fibre switch pad instead of typical softer XPE material, which gives a rougher ‘paper-like’ feel underneath. * Stabilizers are pre-lubed, and well maintained out of the box, that means no ticking or rattle sound. * After opening up: I added a couple of additional foam layers under the plate to slightly deepen the tone, helped slightly. 🧩 Pros vs Cons **✅ Pros** * Striking visual design + strong build for the price. * Magnetic switches with adjustable sensitivity, a nice edge for gaming {but won't make u a pro gamer} * Full RGB + decent accessory bundle included. * Hot-swappable, easier future upgrades. **❌ Cons** * Switches are loud, could be a downside in quieter setups. * Some of the claimed dampening layers feel less effective without modding. * Software could have a better UI. * type C cable being on the left side might not be for everyone. Thanks a lot for reading and do checkout the video for details. 💗💗
