"I highly recommend the Corsair K70. ... it turns out 3 of them have the same keyboard and all swear by it, too."

"about two years in the LEDs will randomly start to die (for example: the blue led on one switch will die out). Every K70 I've had has followed this pattern like clockwork."
I’ve been using the K70 since Corsair released their first generation. IMO the first Gen was a bit better but I also have this model and love it. I love the Brown switch, as I use it for gaming and work to type.
Still rocking my Corsair K70 RED I purchased back in 2017 (Cherry MX Brown switches). Just replaced a couple broken key caps. Though I should pull apart and clean the damn thing for once :-D
Have the corsair k70 cherry mx red for at least 10 years, still in perfect shape.
I'm partial to the Corsair K70 series, but I can't really recommend it at the ludicrous prices they go for nowadays ($150+). If you can find it on sale below $100, it's a really nice board.
Standard Cherry Reds still have significant bottom-out and recoil noise. Typing this on my Corsair K70 with Reds, it's quite loud if I type quickly and bottom-out a lot. There are Silent Red switches or O-ring mods you can do that will significantly improve the sound, though.
I really love my Corsair K70 keyboard. You can get it with Cherry red or blue switches. The RBG is super bright, and it's excellent quality. I fully expect it to last at least 10 years if not 20.
still rocking an old corsair k70 and it's been perfect, it even predates the RGB models and still going strong. just checked i got it in 2014 and it's still running perfectly despite one or two beer / chocolate milk incidents
Ive been using the same corsair vengeance k70 from 2013 all this time. It still works like new, no idea if they still sell it but the k70 line is still fine enough I hear. I would say grab a refurbished one because that's just a good deal. For a mouse I just use the Scimitar because it's useful for FF14 and certain actions in applications.
What's the general opinion on corsair refurbs? the K100 @ $100 doesn't seem too bad at first glance. My K70 from 2017 (2016 model) works fine but a few LED's have gone weird. Might be a good upgrade?
That one has game specific presets, right? I used a Corsair at the demo booth for Deep Rock Galactic, and throwing a flare caused a flare of white light from around that key. Looked so cool.
They also had a massive keyboard display, where they had synced them up to display moving images across like, 16 of them. I bet there's somewhere to get presets.
:/ No gasket, no foam, no VIA, *no hot swap*. Hard pass.
