"For me, I like mechanical, 100% keyboard layout, media keys, low-profile, RGB. Corsair used to make K60 and K70 that fit the bill ... Actual separate dedicated keys for media control."
"Yep, I own this keyboard and it does have a volume knob / wheel on the righthand side and a mute button as well next to it."

If you are considering the k70 pro rgb, choose the opx version. If you want to use it for a long time and solve problems on your own, choose a product that is hot-swappable with general mechanical switches. Other alternatives include optical switches or magnetic switches. Mechanical hot-swap switches are designed to easily replace those that have a 3-pin such as the Cherry red switch. The keyboard you are using uses Cherry Viola switches. That switch is less durable than a typical Cherry MX switch, and due to its structure, problems like those you repaired using alcohol are bound to occur. Instead, you can pull it out because it is a switch that does not require soldering. If you want to clean it with alcohol, pull it out, disassemble the switch itself, and use alcohol to fix it. [https://youtu.be/oAIKK1ddCds?feature=shared&t=137](https://youtu.be/oAIKK1ddCds?feature=shared&t=137) That switch is actually something that should never have appeared in the world. It is difficult to use that switch for a long time. Anyway, a hot-swap keyboard using typical Cherry MX-style mechanical switches can be used for a long time, but Corsair does not have a hot-swap keyboard among the full-size keyboards. Corsair's two keyboards, the K65 Plus and K70 Pro Mini, are such HOT-SWAPPABLE products. OPX is an optical switch using an IR sensor. Since key input is detected using the IR sensor located on the PCB side, there is no problem unless the sensor is broken. These switches don't require soldering, so you can pull them out as well. However, there is no compatible switch that can completely replace Corsair's opx switch. The reason is that the bottom part of the switch is slightly different, so if you connect a different switch, there are some problems with sensor recognition. Recently, magnetic switches capable of rapid triggering have become popular. This switch is also replaceable because it does not require soldering. Corsair uses something called the MGX switch and currently has two products, the K70 MAX and K70 PRO TKL. If you want full size, choose K70 MAX. This magnetic switch has a magnet in the center of the switch, and a semiconductor that enables HALL EFFECT is located on the PCB side according to the magnet position. Because of this structure, magnetic switches other than Corsair's MGX switches can be used. Unless you stick to full sizes, there are more options. Recently, many inexpensive and high-performance keyboards have been released by Chinese manufacturers. Most of them are 75% or 65% keyboards. As for the K70 PRO RGB, I've already mentioned it, but unless it's the OPX version, it doesn't meet the conditions you want. However, since the K70 MAX, Corsair has been increasing the number of keyboard configurations including double dampers for noise reduction, and is also applying basic lubrication to the switches. (The switches of the K70 MAX do not have basic lubrication.) Because the K70 PRO RGB was a product before these changes, the keyboard itself is a bit noisy. Keep this in mind too. One last thing to mention is that not only the problem of the keyboard switch itself, but also the problem of the RGB LED is a separate problem. The lifespan of an LED may be shorter than that of a switch. If RGB LEDs are set to white and used at maximum brightness, their lifespan will be significantly shortened. If you want to use it for a long time, lower the brightness or avoid fixed colors.
r/Corsair • Should I buy this Keyboard? Corsair K70 RGB PRO ->i upgraded from the K60 RGB PRO SE to the k70 rgb pro opx (optical switches) and its much better in every way from accuratcy to feel to straight up comfort, i really recommend it to anyone probally the most comfotrable keybaord i ever used, aside from the k100 (dont have this one my friend does but its even more comfotrable). # so in conclusion if you got the money for the k70 rgb pro opx, get it.
r/Corsair • Should I buy this Keyboard? Corsair K70 RGB PRO ->IDK, to each their own but I just couldn't with the aesthetics of that keyboard. I bought the mentioned Corsair tournament edition a couple years back and it was a great buy, still have zero issues. The RGB is beautiful too and all of the keys still work perfectly including the lighting. Longest I've had a keyboard that hasn't had an issue considering how much I abuse it tbh. I'm not a keyboard aficionado though (I just want it to have minimal latency and look nice) so ymmv. I don't even know what you'd use the knobs / screen for. If volume, the Corsair also has a volume knob / dial on the righthand side that you can turn. I guess if you have a usecase for the 2nd knob, you want to replace the keys or you want a screen for something then yours makes sense.
r/buildapcsales • [CPU] AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT - $158 with free Corsair K70 RGB TKL CHAMPION SERIES Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Newegg ->Yep, I own this keyboard and it does have a volume knob / wheel on the righthand side and a mute button as well next to it.
r/buildapcsales • [CPU] AMD Ryzen 7 5800XT - $158 with free Corsair K70 RGB TKL CHAMPION SERIES Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Newegg ->Bought and returned this thing is ass… you have to push these keys to their full depth to register and the travel is far. Returned and bought corsairs new K70 pro with addressable actuation point.
r/buildapcsales • [Keyboard] DROP - The Lord of the Rings TKL Wired Speech Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Black Lands $110 ($229 - $119) ->K70 pro is pretty good. My mouse is the scimitar elite it’s fine not the best but solid.
r/Corsair • Best Corsair Gaming Keyboard and Mouse? ->Hi, currently using a K70 Pro from Corsair with Corsair OPX switches, my gf is constantly annoyed by the noise. I want to finally take the first step and build my own MK buy I have 0 experience and tools for soldering. I wanna know what I need to build a : 100% full size keyboard ISO FR layout that need to be silent ! I wanna avoid the all black looks, I prefer the white color. Anyone willing to guide me ?
r/MechanicalKeyboards • /r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - September 25, 2025 ->I have the Corsair K70 Pro it’s $180 I know it’s more but honestly look don’t cheap out. Trust me it’s worth the $30 $40 bucks!!
r/pcmasterrace • Best Hall-Effect Keyboard under 150$ ->I have tried a lot of keyboards. I like the Corsair k70 pro with clicks keys.
r/buildapc • What are some generally recommended gaming keyboards? ->Just got it due to Prime day. Extremely pleased but probably wouldn’t buy it full price
r/keyboards • Is the Corsair k70 pro worth it at 125$(115€) or should I choose… ->I love my Corsair K70 RGB Pro, but I have Cherry Mx Blues. its so nice but the price point is kinda a turnoff to me. Would really like Corsair to re-release the keyboard with hotswap sockets, cherry MX2, and better adhesive/ larger rubber pads for the armrest (like the size the keyboard uses). All while keeping the same price. I also had an OG Tramp stamp Corsair K70 RGB with MX Browns that I loved literally to death. Had a couple RGB LED's go out, had the spacebar switch die. Fixed the switch. Eventually the RGB Led problem got soo bad that I attempted to explore what happened. In the end without actually finding the problem with the RGB a ribbon cable died. lived 9 years.
r/Corsair • just bought this corsair keyboard ->Ive been using the same corsair vengeance k70 from 2013 all this time. It still works like new, no idea if they still sell it but the k70 line is still fine enough I hear. I would say grab a refurbished one because that's just a good deal. For a mouse I just use the Scimitar because it's useful for FF14 and certain actions in applications.
r/Corsair • Best Corsair Gaming Keyboard and Mouse? ->That one has game specific presets, right? I used a Corsair at the demo booth for Deep Rock Galactic, and throwing a flare caused a flare of white light from around that key. Looked so cool.
r/GirlGamers • What's the best gaming keyboard widely preferred by Gamers right now? ->They also had a massive keyboard display, where they had synced them up to display moving images across like, 16 of them. I bet there's somewhere to get presets.
r/GirlGamers • What's the best gaming keyboard widely preferred by Gamers right now? ->:/ No gasket, no foam, no VIA, *no hot swap*. Hard pass.
r/keyboards • What's everyone's thoughts on the Corsair K70 ->I've been using a K70 (not the same one) since 2018. Never had key caps pop off. The biggest thing I notice with these is about two years in the LEDs will randomly start to die (for example: the blue led on one switch will die out). Every K70 I've had has followed this pattern like clockwork.
r/Corsair • just bought this corsair keyboard ->Yeah, dunno. Just an odd thing. Their triangles fail on me constantly also. Those are my two biggest grips with all the Corsair shit I have.
r/Corsair • just bought this corsair keyboard ->My Corsair k70 finally died and I've been wanting to check out the less gamer looking options. I see yunzii is selling "mystery boards" for 40. I assume this won't be a screaming deal per say but if I genuinely don't know what I like is that a terrible deal? I would probably get two and see what I like and don't like, since if you order two they are guaranteed to be different. Is this dumb? Is there an obvious better thing for me to be doing? Edit. Usage would be coding and gaming, Windows desktop and laptop running cinnamon variant of mintOS.
r/MechanicalKeyboards • /r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - September 25, 2025 ->razer keyboard? gl winning the lottery system of whether ur razer keyboard gonna have keys that are double-registering/non-responsive within 1-2 years consider cosair k70 or pile your budget higher for a custom built one to last
r/buildapc • Need Help Finding a Gaming Keyboard ->Thanks, I'm in the same boat, ended up grabbing a Corsair k70 and it's just so loud that I'm going to end up returning it.
r/buildapc • Best keyboard for under $120? ->Inhave the k70 prontkl and it's solid. I settled for the g50x plus for a mouse but have thoughts about finding a corsair equivalent for icue May try the nightsabre but idk
r/Corsair • Best Corsair Gaming Keyboard and Mouse? ->I like the Corsair K70. Loved it so much I bought it for my wife and my mom.
r/GirlGamers • I need a new keyboard help pls ->You should ask here as well: /r/MechanicalKeyboards/ I would probably go a more standard size keyboard and not a 60%/65%. Something like the Corsair K70 is nice, pretty solid keyboard, 100% and relatively inexpensive. Cleaning it is a bit easier as it's an open design. I personally use a KeyChron that's like full metal, and they have a wide range of sizes 60/65/100 etc. A bit more expensive. You just have to keep using it and playing games. Just like when you first used a controller..and you can still use a controller on your PC as well for certain games.
r/buildapc • Need help choosing a keyboard (new pc player) ->Hello I own a K70 Corsair keyboard since 2015 I think. I think it time to change it. it still works fine but super dirty. I was thinking about some TKL keyboards but have no idea what would be an actual "upgrade" feel without breaking my pocket. Any suggestions? Gaming/Working usually.
r/MechanicalKeyboards • /r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - September 22, 2025 ->Best gaming Keyboard Please help. I know norhing about good keyboards. I spilled a drink over my Corsair K70. and now I'm searching a new keyboard. I use it in my homeoffice, so a numpad is mandatory for me. I like RGB, and I'f like to have a nice sound. Thinking about something like an Akko 5098b maybe? Any help is appreciated.
r/MechanicalKeyboards • /r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - September 11, 2025 ->Corsair K70. No complaints.
r/GirlGamers • What's the best gaming keyboard widely preferred by Gamers right now? ->Likewise, I know it's a logitech subreddit, but I highly recommend the Corsair K70. I think I got mine on sale for $100 at the beginning of the year. Brought it home, hopped online with my buddies, and it turns out 3 of them have the same keyboard and all swear by it, too.
