I've been running a Corsair K95 for over 10 years now, and it's served me well. However, the past year or so it started having problems with double inputs, and it's finally got to the point where it's basically unusable. What would be a good replacement? I could just get another K95, but is there something better?
I liked the *idea* of all those extra buttons. It was comforting to know that those macros were there if I ever needed them, but in practice I never used them. So, I'm not really looking for keyboards with macros. That being said, I can't do tenkeyless. I actually do use the numpad. Another thing I can't live without is keyboard volume controls. All of the other multimedia keys I don't care about and never touched, but I use the volume roller constantly.
I personally own a K95 from 2016 and the keyboard itself still operates as new despite some minor wear on the key cap lettering. The wrist rest is another story, it's worn down and old but I'm crocky about replacing things unless I absolutely have to. I was looking at upgrading my keyboard and mouse this year since it's been 10 years now but I am split between Corsair and Logitech for this. I am usually a big Corsair fan but seeing these posts make me wonder if I just got lucky with how solid my hardware from them has been for the last 10 years of constant use. For reference, I use my computer at minimum for 4 hours a day if not more, usually leaning towards more, only times I don't use it daily is when I am on vacation or something. Big gamer, also use it for my audio/video work, and honestly I'm surprised how well it has held up this entire time. I guess I will have to see how their current lineup holds since I want another long lasting mouse and keyboard combo.
> I have a full size keyboard with macro keys on the left I love my K95, the extra macro keys (bound to F13 onwards) are great for extra shortcuts that have no chance of stepping on any existing shortcuts.
I ended up buying a Corsair K95 because of that reason, was the only one I could find with a macro keys row after my G19 died, still got one G15 running on one of my other workstations.
Hoping to get some help here, I am looking to purchase a new keyboard as I have been upgrading peripherals. I have used the Corsair K95 for about 7 years and it has been great but keys are starting to break and I want something higher quality/newer. It has been quite overwhelming as I dipped my toe into the rabbit hole and just want straight up answers. I understand that it’s about preference but I don’t have time to test each one individually, nor watch countless videos. I’m hoping to not have to make a change for at least a couple years. Budget: $50-$250 Games: CS, Deadlock, StarCraft/Warcraft, BF6, WoW, EFT, Dark and Darker, etc. Size: 75% (I think, looking for suggestions for best performance for my situation) Hoping to get it ASAP, thank you to everyone!
