OP have you found anything ? I have a Corsair Strafe RGB with Cherry Red Silent switches. I have it for a decade and its still fine but I am trying to find something for backup incase i need to replace - decade and not a single issue on this keyboard is a flag for me that time is up soon :D
I'm not entirely sure about this keyboard, but I got a corsair strafe a year ago. It was pre lubed and meh, the downside is that it had a double press issue. You needed corsair's software running at all times to debounce and fix that issue. I just use it for work, so I don't care. But there are better keyboards out there for less. I also got a magnetic keyboard for $30 that works better(I use it for fps games), an all aluminum wireless keyboard from epomaker for $80(the epomaker x feker, got it for my wife), and I've custom built one(costs hundreds, I use it for everything else)... If Corsair didn't have that double press issue(I returned it and got a 2nd one, same issue), then I'd be okay with them. But there are just better keyboards out there with better QC.
Yea, I used to like their strafe waaay back before there was much competition. I thought I was unlucky with their new strafe, but 2 keyboards having the issue, and many reports online stating the same thing. So I'm just assuming that their new strafe has a double clicking issue that is fixed with their software(so most won't notice it, they even added a debounce setting to adjust for the keyboard). ofc not all corsair keyboards are the same, so maybe the k70 is fine, especially since it uses optical switches.
weird. My Strafe has a LOT of hours and use, and the LEDs are still fine for the most part. I've work a transparent place out on my space bar lol.
tl;dr $50-$100 US seems to be the sweet spot for quality. My most recent keyboard is a Keychron C1 for $60. It has a very nice premium quality and satisfying key strokes. The one before that was a Corsair Strife RGB mk2 for $115 that while very nice, isn't as satisfying to type on. Both are mechanical with cherry red switches and still in service. The Corsair has full RGB, ten keys, volume roller, and media shortcut keys. The Keychron has white LEDs under each key, is ten keyless, and no extra keys. If you compare features, they're pretty equivalent price wise. I prefer the Keychron (once I got used to not having ten keys).
I had a Corsair Strafe keyboard with silent switches. While it was not greatest feeling to type something it really did the job in small apartment, I could play without waking up my girlfriend. I think it might be not a bad idea to look into "hall effect" keyboards with magnetic switches
Just get one that you like the most that offer cherry mx silent red switches. I use a corsair and love it.
