Ducky - One 3 TKL

A "gaming keyboard" is usually just a marketing buzzword over a regular mechanical keyboard to sell them for more than they're worth. I customized a ducky pro 3 tkl and it's leagues better than the "gaming" keyboard I bought in high-school for $30 more. r/mechanicalkeyboards is a great place to start, but know that custom keyboard building can be an expensive and slippery slope. If you just want something with rgb, there are plenty of good options around $50.

Don't get the one 3, mine started chattering after a weeks use and got unusable after like 3 months.

I just sent my ducky one 3 rgb back this week. RGB in custom mode had blinking leds around the numpad area. The first time this was mentioned (on Reddit) was years ago and is still an issue. But i don’t know if you want to get a RGB version.

I get that and maybe would have done the same, but they know this for years and don’t seem to fix it. That’s bothering me.

I’ve got a Ducky One 3 with Cherry MX Ergo Clear switches for everything but the space bar (which has a Silent Red instead). Keyboards are pretty personal and dependent on what you want (for example mine is tactile and mechanical). I recommend researching that and figuring out what you want rather than taking blind reccs. As for a mouse, I use a Naga Trinity but any MMO mouse or good mouse with customizable DPI will serve you well

Yep same. I replaced all the switches and it's been OK so far. Bit will AVOID in the future

Mine does that if I make a custom mapped zone. I just stick it to all one colour now.

It's near the bottom of my problems now. Must be a hardware thing they just can't be bothered to fix.

Ducky one-3 and Phreeze rapid fire v3.

A fair few people, myself included have had 'chattering' issues with the One 3. I'll be avoiding Ducky in the future as their failure to acknowledge the issue and support was pathetic.

Logitech is a solid choise i have ducky one 3 myself (its a real product lol just sounds crazy)

I've had my Ducky One 2 for 6 years now, newest model is the One 3

At this point it's a "go test what feels right to you". Back in ye olden years it was some super expensive brand and cherry keys. Now you have tons and they all have different pressures. The one I was using up to then I bought in 2013 or earlier (email doesnt go back far enough lol). Both are Ducky brand. The 2013 version was a Ducky Shine 2, current is a Ducky One with red cherry switches. $120 for the keyboard. If you can I would **highly** recommend just hitting up a Bestbuy or other large-ish electronics retailer that sells keyboards. They usually have them on display and may even have test boards that use different switches.
