I had a few keyboards from the gaming brands... they did not last long. I got a ducky shine 7, I still have it 5 years on. and the on device macro recording is rly nice.
Imo it is not even if it's better by any measurable data, but it feels so much better, for typing, for gaming etc. I went for a second hand Ducky One2 Mini that I have later sold and bought a Ducky Shine7 Both are so much better than my precious non mechanical keyboards. ( I've sold the One 2 Mini because I had the Speed Silver switches which were a bit too sensitive for my taste and also I prefer a full size keyboard vs a 60%)
Nice things are nice. It's as simply as that imo. You don't need fancy expensive peripherals, but they're nice to use! I find I make less typing errors with my (mechanical) Ducky Shine 7 than I did on my old Saitek Eclipse II (membrane).
Not really in that space for keyboard, you probably want to peruse/poke /r/MechanicalKeyboards or similar subs for more specific advice. I'm using a Ducky Shine 7, find it quite nice for typing and it is the sturdiest built keyboard I've ever used, whole outer frame is a metal alloy, nice weight and quality feel to it.
I bought a ducky shine like 10 years ago and despite spilling wine all over it, it's still going strong. Truly an unkillable keyboard. I could beat someone up with it and it'd still work perfectly fine, it's such a strong item. However, it didn't survive my wife. It was too loud, so I had to get rid of it. The Logitech k120 is like 20 euros and after 10 years of sitting in a cupboard, it's also still going strong!
For keys its doubleshot PBT. Body is a zinc alloy.
