I mean if it gets the job done I'd say it's worth the 25$. You're paying the extra just for aesthetics and sound not ergonomics or performance.

Of course it's not a high performer it's 25$. It's supposed to be the most basic keyboard at that price. If someone needs a keyboard to get the job done this seems like an ok deal. Most people aren't enthusiasts. What's a better 25$ option then?

I don't know much about the model that you provided. time for me to google and start investigating. thank you so much! I will need to check about the bad closes like the gk61. n there is also lucky v.2 that has split option, but they are being fazed out for the v3 that doesn't support double space bar.

Remember that with optical switches your options for replacing them are very limited, you are basically stuck with gateron and a few others. Also 61% means no arrow keys, takes some getting used to. Though the pink color seems to offer mechanical yellows for only 5 dollars more, maybe worth considering if you're okay with a pink keyboard Edit: Seems like the mechanical options have an 8$ shipping fee, interesting.

One has a longer lifespan and is a little more reliable The other is made by more than just 2 manufacturers

Coped the red colour + silver switches and I'm typing on it now, wanted to try fast optical switches. The switches feels way better than the cheap progressive red switches I tried before. I'm glad I got the silvers as the force is very light and the yellows are even lighter. The key caps just suck, the stability is awful and the board is very pingy out of the box. Only other complaint is that it doesn't have any flip up angle adjusters on the bottom, the default angle is pleasant but the feet are a tiny bit uneven because they are so big. Usually rubber feet are thin and rounded so it can sit level easier. Honestly don't care cause it was $25 for a whole keyboard, just these switches can cost as much. The problems can be easily modded, its a great cheap platform to have fun fixing up and test what you like. It has arrow keys using the function key right beside them and it is very intuitive to use, so the form factor is fine for gaming. I'm coming from a barebones CIY Tester 84 with Akko Lavender Purple switches and [these keycaps](https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005008405001968.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.25.3d97aAhiaAhieF&algo_pvid=79ba0b2a-4c64-442e-8d9c-4523d2345fbb&algo_exp_id=79ba0b2a-4c64-442e-8d9c-4523d2345fbb-24&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22order%22%3A%22103%22%2C%22eval%22%3A%221%22%7D&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21CAD%2174.62%2133.58%21%21%2152.76%2123.74%21%402101eac917484519915536899e0172%2112000044900920205%21sea%21CA%21724038161%21X&curPageLogUid=derSYFvrGZbF&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A) which I will swap on and update you all to see if it helps the key stability and pinging.

It's that price because it's a piece of crap. Save yourself a hundred bucks to buy some decent premades through Chinese retail sites for keyboards Like rainy75.

I owned a gk61 4 years ago, it wasn't good for 50 then and it certainly isn't good for 25 now, high latency despite running optical switches as the board refreshes at 250hz, unreliable firmware and generally horrible build quality and feel. Not good for gaming, not good for typing and certainly not a high performer in any metric. Plus optical switches are a niche in the keyboard building community rn, mechanical switches enjoy way better upgrade paths and modding potential. Anyone who says you're only paying extra for aesthetics would be ok with an Apple magic keyboard clones because this is what the GK/HK 61 models are, mass produced e-waste.
