Agree on the kailh switches being just better. I bought and returned the nuphy and got the Iquinix mq80 instead, pricey but worth it for something I'll use for years to come. I also wanted something super quiet and the kailh deep sea silent whale switches are perfect for me.
This YouTuber made a video about the various top picks for low profile boards: https://youtu.be/wAtVyyKify0?si=zjvPSXt8M8bYI-5x I have the IQUNIX MQ80 and absolutely love it. But it’s more expensive and less portable than some of the other options. The typing angle isn’t adjustable due to the lack of flippable feet. The Lofree Flow Lite and MelGeek O2 are also good options imo. Generally, the boards that use Kailh low profile switches seem to have better typing feel and sound.
Always fun to just try something new. Build the collection. Lots of amazing options online. Ive tried them all and own an insane amount of keyboards and they all float around my office for all my staff to use and enjoy at my business. If you have some extra money - crush80 by wobkey is unreal. Low profile goes to Iqunix MQ80
IMO the best low profile keyboards are Nuphy Air series, Lofree Flow (lite), Iquinix MQ80 (I would go for for the MQ80).
Let me mess all of you up even more by suggesting the Iquinix MQ80 or Magi65. Both of them have superior sound and typefeel to both the lofree and the nuphy while also being even lower cost afaik. Best low profile out there imo.
IQUNIX 80% or 96% might be good options. I have the MQ80 and love it, it’s really good on my wrists & has a solid typing experience Lowfree has the Flow100 which is a true low profile
Yes I played Valorant and R6 with it ... So basically it's like you'll need to adjust to the flat keycaps surface.. at first I was facing some finger placement issues but then adjusted to it after sometime.. But I preferd cherry keycaps for gaming so I swapped wasd whenever I was having some issues, performance wise i didn't face any issues during gaming sessions.. Also the jiggle peek was very fast with this keeb
I have an Iqunix MQ80. Are there any keyboards with similar build (solid) low profile keyboards with maybe slightly wider spaces between the keys and slightly higher force switches (happy to swap them so this is my least priority) that anyone would recommend?
I got the Magi96 to go with the MQ80 I already had. They feel really similar, but I think it's a tiny bit slimmer. I leave the MQ80 at work so I can't directly compare though.
The bottom of the MQ80 has geometric cutouts, but is still a unibody design, and the Magi is flat but has a wide panel that you can unscrew. It's not fully unibody like the MQ is.
I used to have the original Logitech G915 (tactile switches), moved to an Asus ROG Azoth (Linear), and recently moved to the Lofree Flow100 (tactile switches) I don't know about the G915X, but the original just had so much wobble, and they sounded very scratchy. I ended up lubing it myself, but because it was my first time, it ended up becoming... mushy? I put way too much lube lol The Lofree Flow100 so far has been the best typing experience I've ever had. Typing feels and sounds **amazing**, but it does have the regular drawbacks everyone mentions. There is only white backlighting, and the keycaps themselves aren't transparent. If you do replace the keycaps, the lighting doesn't always illuminate an entire keycap, like the backspace. No wireless besides BT is a bummer. No VIA/QMK if you're into that. Surprisingly, I find myself fighting against the form factor more than I thought I would. I thought I would get used to no space between the arrow keys and the numpad, but I've had it for over half a year now and I still am hitting the wrong keys. I'm getting new 3D printed keycaps from Etsy to try and help with tactile differentiation. But all that said, this keyboard is *very* likely going to become my main work keyboard, because like someone else mentioned, the IQUNIX MQ80 is out. From everything I've seen, it's supposedly got the same (or better) feel / sound as the Lofree, the same layout as the Lofree Flow80, RGB backlighting, 2.4 GHz wireless, and QMK/VIA. I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered, and can update on how it feels if I remember. If you want a numpad and are okay with the compromises: Lofree keyboard feels great. If you want all the features that Lofree is missing and a (unconfirmed) similar / better typing experience: maybe give the MQ80 a shot. Otherwise, the closest you're going to get to the typing experience will be NuPhy. I can't speak much on them though. Update: Got the MQ80 in, and am disappointed. All of the stabilizers for spacebar, backspace, enter, and shift were unbelievably rattly. Some of the keys sounded great, others were obviously not lubed as much. From everything I've seen, these issues are hit or miss, so probably more a quality control issue than anything. There were just enough issues that I decided to send it back. I'd rather just get another Lofree for work, or test my luck with the cheaper Flow Lite.
