r/keyboardsIs this a decent gaming keyboard, for this price? Alternatives?

I’m not saying this is for everyone but: Swagkeys (Transition lite TKL, Eave65) kit - €60, Gateron Milky Yellow Pro x90 - €15 (BSUN KI x90 - €20 / TTC Frozen Silent - €19), Designer Studio Stabilizers - €15, any Aifei keycaps you’d like - €10-€15. Would be fully custom almost for the price of this keychron = 60+15+15+10+15=115 Also there’s an option like Tiger Lite Gaming (Hall Effect), almost any switches, everything to build the kb that matches your requirements. And on pre-built side of HE keyboards there is Melgeek with their MADE68 Pro, Real 67. It’s just my opinion as a typist (I am a developer and a CTO so I’m typing ALOT) that there is no boards on the market that would match my current requirements based on the: sound, feel, dampening, feedback, travel etc. the only way I did the best keyboard for me was my KPRepublic first built (not recommended in 2025 and outdated). And it’s the best feel in the world when I’m typing. Also it’s too heavy (60g force) so my wife gifted me 2 more keyboards: Transion Lite TKL, Eave 65 and a full sets of all accessories (BSUN KI switches for Transition, TTC Frozen Silent V2 for Eave). So I’d say that my opinion is not for all but at least you may consider something like that.

If you are prone to hand pain or fatigue, get a keyboard with highly flexible gaskets (e.g., the Tiger Lite 80), or one that has a softer landing because of an intervening dampening material (e.g., Niz Plum or Minilo75 Silent). Otherwise I really don't think polling rate matters for this kind of game. Plenty of top players are still probably using the ancient Qsenn DT35. Something with a lighter actuation might help, but I don't think HE features are going to do much here... maybe if you also play competitive FPS or racing games a lot.

r/keyboardsWhat HE keyboard / manufacturer (for fps games)?

Wooting was the first to get he on the market, and now people use what they got used to Also there's some people (like tenz in valorant for example) that modded their boards to be incredible The point is more that wooting delivers a "mid" product for a premium price, which was fine when there was no alternative (thats why i got my wooting) For alternatives if recommend the epomaker 68he as a cheaper option (around 55 usd) A tiger lite gaming with owlab ti he switches as a more premium option (which ends up around 180 usd depending on vendors, keycaps and exact config) If you want a metal case u could go for something like a venom 60 he in a Tofu redux, a Tofu tkl he or a venom tkl he in one of the many tkl cases on the market (at that point you might end up above the 80he zinc, custom keyboard cases can get very pricey)

For magnetic switches - refer [here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSsjTA29tUSQDgT_FWmvX2nHg17RLzCXdZnBV2pdAWO2SqJmzeNl9EQNc2Yw2Cy4kHjIBcDVVCUgErC/pub) for an extensive writeup and see for yourself from there. In my opinion, they are entirely unnecessary, unless you really want something like rapid trigger. They also really cut down on your available options in terms of keyboards. My first choice for magnetic keyboard would be Tiger Lite 80, but it requires assembling it yourself and buying switches and keycaps separately. For non-magnetic - something like Evo80/Crush80/Bridge75/Womier RD75 + keychron number pad would be good (and you can throw on matching keycaps or change switches if you want to) . Full-sized - Epomaker Galaxy 100, ND 104.
