I would avoid the Keychron C2 and Redragon boards. Redragon have a couple of recent boards that are pretty nice but that's one of their horrible old legacy ones, and the Keychron C series are their cheapest and dodgiest kit. The Pro boards are wireless with Bluetooth. The Max boards are wireless with Bluetooth and a 2.4 GHz USB transceiver. The K boards are tray mount, and stiff. The V boards are gasket mount which makes for a nice typing experience. You can get the V6 though Amazon for about $80.
That's what I was gonna suggest. Big bump, and it's very high up, so there's essentially no pre-travel. I put them in my C2 and liked them, so I ordered a V6 Max with them already installed
Oh sorry, I meant typing in general as opposed to slamming inputs for gaming. For long sessions, I have used my keyboard for about a year straight now with about 8 hours of average daily use. It is a great keyboard and I couldn’t get enough of it. I do have a cheap wrist rest pad from amazon, it took a week to get used to since I was too cheap to buy a wood block rest. It does not have a numpad however which is probably something he needs. There is the keychron c2/c2 pro which is pretty good and I couldn’t find any other reputable competitors in terms of quality. It is going for $48-$57 depending on the model and keychron sells a $17 silicone wrist rest for them if you want something better than the crusty cloth foam pads.
Keychron C2 and Rapoo MT760, got so fucking sick of Razer and Logitech shit dying after a month and their support being complete nonces. Had em for like 2 years and working gloriously even after accidents
They have more than a frame of latency. Not great for gaming.
Latency. If you're a gamer avoid these. Otherwise they're great.
A frame or two of latency is important, whether you're aware of it or not.
You would do *better* without the latency.
Not remotely true. Hitting skill checks in Dead by Daylight regardless of what level you're playing at is easier with less latency. I'm not saying "spend $350 for a Hall Effect keyboard with 1ms latency". But Keychrons are sometimes at 30ms, and that's just about 2 frames.
Can't go wrong with a Keychron then: https://www.keychron.com/collections/100-layout-keyboards
Mine has problem when pressing multiple keys down at the same time, nothing happens. So called "tilt" keyboard. This broke my trust on this manufacturer, is it just on my end?
As you are saying, the reason why you need to replace your keyboard is because you are buying cheaper keyboards. It's probably worth spending 150£ on one that will last you 5 years and that you will change because you want to rather than because you need to! I'd check into keychron UK and look at their mechanical keyboards. They are great quality and if you get a hotswapable keyboard you will not only be able to change the keycaps but also the switches themselves.
