"So far the only "real gamer" keyboard to date to be considered is the recent HE variants due to its rapid trigger feature ... more specifically targetted towards fps players that are willing to tinker each and every key press on how they want it to respond. ... Most HE variants offers all keys to be modified if desired since the very switches themselves have the HE features, so some would only changed the main WASD and others would utitlized tinkering the whole keys ... this is mostly catered towards fps players that have the intent on tinkering."
"HE features are super useful in games ... They're generally better for gaming because of customisation and stuff like analogue input and rapid trigger."
"The Q3 seems nice enough, but I've become super dependent on macros and customisation, so VIA/QMK or Launcher support is a must for me."

"They are great quality ... It's probably worth spending 150£ on one that will last you 5 years and that you will change because you want to rather than because you need to!"
"build quality is objectively better, specially in Q series of keychrons ... well built"

"Keychron HE keeb is compatible only with its own HE switches. For me it was a no-go."
Wooting and Keychron are the only ones I would bother with. Wooting because Wooting, and Keychron because they're QMK.
I have a Q3 HE, and it work pretty well. Web driver is user friendly and build quality is great. Typing experience is great in terms of sound and feel. For performance, it’s 1k pulling, I can’t notice a difference between 1K and 8K pulling some brands are offering, if you care about the pulling rate, consider the Q3 HE 8K released recently, but it don’t have the wireless connectivity the Q3 HE have. Overall it’s a great keyboard
Checkout Q /Q HE series from Keychron instead of K series, if you want superior build quality and typing experience. Just skip the mx mechanical if you use it for gaming as it’s pulling rate is way too low for gaming
keychron q3 but there are better tkls and the knob is in a weird spot better get 75% stuff like Lemokey P1 in silver [https://www.lemokey.com/products/lemokey-p1-qmk-via-custom-gaming-keyboard?variant=48200869413163](https://www.lemokey.com/products/lemokey-p1-qmk-via-custom-gaming-keyboard?variant=48200869413163)
+1 Keychron is worth the price. I use Keychron Q3, much better than those overpriced "gaming" keyboards.
Yes, be sure to check the correct category.. they got "everything".. the v series is definately good, like others said. I got a q3.. I like cables. Had it for 3 years, I still use it as a daily driver.. got more expensive boards "on the wall".
For gaming, really anything with an HE on the end. Q HE are high-end, K HE are less fancy, but still very nice imo. There's almost no reason to buy a non-HE Keychron keyboard for gaming. Cost is about the same, HE features are super useful in games, and the switches sound pretty good now.
The Q3 seems nice enough, but I've become super dependent on macros and customisation, so VIA/QMK or Launcher support is a must for me.
So you're looking for 75–100%. I can recommend something from the Keychron Q series. Plenty of really clean boards there, and they have keycaps with secondary legends for stuff like media control. A lot of them also have macro columns that can be assigned to various functions.
I would look into the Keychron Q HE keyboards. The Q1 HE is 75% and the Q3 HE is TKL. They're gasket mounted keyboards, and their keycaps are a fair bit nicer than the K HE series. You might also consider the Wooting 80HE with Gateron Jade Pro or Geon RAW switches, at that price. Wooitng pretty much sets the standard when it comes to HE software, and you can do a lot with the 80HE. One thing to note is that the 80HE doesn't have macro support, which makes it unusable for me as a daily driver. That's why I recommend the NuPhy and Keychron boards if you're planning on daily driving it for anything other than gaming.
Agreed. Their stabilisers need some work (although the K4 HE's stabs are the best Keychron stabs I've tried so far). But a Q series Keychron could easily be a "one-and-done" keyboard for me.
I got a barebone Keychron Q3 with Boba U4 switches and heavy PBT keycaps - it is very silent and you can allways add O-rings against bottom out sounds. I used SORBOTHANE to dampen the keyboard. => this is as silent as it gets My current Keychron Q3 HE with magnetic switches is a bit noisier, but with Rapid Trigger, there is just less bottoming out happening during gaming. If you want to spend so much on a keyboard, I would recommend at least a magnetic variant. While I cant say anything about the impact of Rapid Trigger in FPS games, in MMOs it does eliminate finger strain / fatigue for me and I will not go back to normal keyboards for the time beeing.
I've been really happy with my Keychron Q3 HE. I believe it can do everything the Wooting can (someone correct me if I'm wrong) plus it's available in white.
Hi, I'm just looking for additional opinions on keyboards to check out. My prior keyboard was a WASD Code V3 (I think?) and I loved it until it broke, would have bought another if they were out of business. Over the last 6 months i've been struggling with a Keychron Q3 Max but the board had a huge QC issue and am getting a refund, not sure I want to roll the dice with them again. My priorities: I don't care about hotswapping, just want something to work well out of the box, prefer tactile switches similar to the Browns I've been using, and prefer a TKL/80% layout. Any advice?
The first thing you'll probably want to decide on is if you need ISO-UK layout (with the big enter key), or the ANSI American layout. If you are fine with an ANSI layout, you definitely have more options. As for gaming, that really depends. If you are really into competitive PvP games, than you might be more interested in something with HE switches. These are magnetic switches instead of mechanical. Personally, I prefer regular mechanical switches. But HE switches are definitely more gaming focused. If you are fine with mechanical switches you might want to check out something like the Evo80. You can get in either ANSI or ISO layout and is generally a really well regarded keyboard. Mechmods has both layout options for sale ([ANSI](https://www.mechmods.co.uk/collections/keyboards/products/evoworks-evo80-keyboard-ansi-layout?variant=46286231699679) and [ISO](https://www.mechmods.co.uk/collections/keyboards/products/evoworks-evo80-keyboard-iso-layout?variant=54937039307130)). I also believe it works both wireless and wired. There are other options out there though, so it really depends on what you are looking for. Like if you really want RGB options, you might want to look at a Nuphy Gem80. But that only has ANSI layouts and I think they are currently sold out of there usually included switches and keycaps. Keychron is also generally well regarded. For the TKL layout there is the Q3 Max. But they have a few different options, including HE keyboards. So you might want to browse their options.
