I still have my g510s and use it daily. The switches feel so good and it types like butter.

I have a membrane keyboard that has served me reliably since we first got it. The Logitech G510. I have really enjoyed how large the keyboard is. I haven't really ever used its macro keys, except for within the last few months, when I started using them as "buttons", where I could map them as additional, keyless objects for my flight Sims. I also have really liked that the backlight / illuminated keys are not just (or don't appear to be) clear keys with dark tint, but are rather 2 different plastics, so one is opaque, and the other transparent. I've worn the coloring off of the wrist-rest, but it's the only keyboard, that even after 15 years of heavy daily use, hasn't had the key caps fade, or the lettering wear to nothing. The Home Row locators have gone smooth, but the keys remain lettered. I would like to switch to something mechanical, because the membrane has finally begun to fail (keys are soft on raising back up, will sometimes 'stick' low, sitting beneath the other key caps.) I am sure there's a daily thread or FAQ, but I'd like to replace it woth something that can offer the same longevity, with those main features. A powerful back light, keycaps that won't fade with use, and a large, full keyboard. I don't know a lot about mechanical keyboards, but avoiding something obnoxiously "clicky" would be a plus. A nice detent, but I would like to avoid the tippy-tappy that comes from some key types of mechanical keyboards. (I've gotten used to the feel of Membrane, so something similar to it would be very nice.) Any suggestions for someone such as myself?

I think it's kind of a hit or miss thing with logitech. Like my G510, I've had for like 15 years is still going and I love it. But, I've had logitech mice that have died in that time. Currently have a G403 mouse that is about 5 years old with no issues. I'd love for Logitech to put out another G510. Maybe with out the LCD display, since it doesn't always do anything these days.

The G510 and the ZBoard were the kings of overdesigned mid-2000's gamer peripherals. I though they were dogshit at the time, but now I have a semi-ironic appreciation for them.

I had to "upgrade" from the G510 to the G910. It's... fine. It does everything I need, and therefore, I can't complain. But the G510 was *cool*. I hate remembering it was a thing because it makes me miss it.
