Hey, currently using a logitech g512 blue clicky keyboard full size and really have not many complaints other than it being hard wired and full size. I tried a razer huntsman v3 pro optical and didn't like the linear keys, I found myself misclicking and fat fingering other keys when gaming due to them being so sensitive. Then I decided to try out a low profile keyboard so I tried out the logitech g515 tkl which wasn't too bad but I prefer the traditional keyboard size and clicky switches, the browns felt similar to razer optical linear switches. The reason I want wireless is because I have a split setup between a desk and a sofa so moving the keyboard from one to another without unplugging stuff would be easier.

Modern “gaming” peripherals are almost always aimed at FPS players so numpads not only are useless to them, but also take away mouse space and force a less ergonomic posture. And to be honest, with how widespread mechanical keyboards are there’s no point in spending on a TMR/HE keyboard, which is a feature aimed squarely at competitive FPS players, if you’re going to be playing games that use a numpad.

The G512 is very good, I've had it for 3 years and I can recommend it to you

Really? I had to get it replaced twice in one year due to issues with the LED, double-clicking, and dead switches. The G512 has been the worst keyboard experience I've ever had — even worse than the free one I got when I built my PC. And trying to resell the G512 was a nightmare. I could only sell it for one-third of its original price, and even then, barely anyone wanted it. I ended up selling it to someone who's not very tech-savvy.

Plastic is nice if it's premium plastic. Aluminum keyboard are loud even with proper padding and silent switches.

\-North-facing RGB in 2026? \-Who tf needs 2 dial knobs? \-Keycaps looks cheap asf \-I love 75% keyboards, but i also need home+del keys. Honestly this is a hard pass for me. I still have my g915 with a few issue and replaced it with a g pro x tkl lightspeed which is probably leagues better than this new g512x

That’s not what this is. A lot of esports players prefer smaller keyboards because you get more room for the mouse. Also, a lot of keyboard enthusiasts actively dislike full sized boards because they have zero use for the numpad.

\>>some people just want a keyboard they can use for both gaming and productivity that doesn’t feel like absolute shit to type on There are plenty of those on the market. You’re aware that gaming keyboards are like 80% marketing, 10% bloated RGB drivers, and another 10% negligible “performance features.” Unless you’re using a Hall Effect keyboard, which does indeed offer advantageous features, most mechanical gaming keybaords don’t offer noticeable performance advantages in real world testing. \>>Don’t know what qualifies someone as being a keyboard “enthusiast.” There’s an entire scene of people that build and program their own custom keyboards from scratch. I know because I am one of those people. While not all mechanical keyboard enthusiasts go this deep, there is still a rather large market of people that buy custom hotswap keyboard kits and build their own. These people tend to be extremely picky about switches, stabilizers, sound, typing feel, etc. [r/mechanicalkeyboards](r/mechanicalkeyboards) is absolutely full of these people. \>>i’m guessing this a is a generational thing. Bro, I am a middle aged man. I have another middle aged buddy that competes in Quake tournaments and places in the Top 3 on a 75% non-gaming mechanical keyboard. Although, he did recently switch to a Wooting 60% because of the ineherent advantages you get from Hall Effect boards.
