Switched to mech keyboards a few years ago. Started with the Keychron K3 v2, Nuphy Air 75, Logitech MX Mechanical and currently have the Nuphy Air 96 v2 and the Logitech G515 TKL I’ve realised that I prefer either the TKL format or the full keys layout. The 80/96 don’t work as I always struggle to identify the arrow keys - not a gamer. While I’m smitten by how well made the Nuphy is, somehow I’m not able to overcome the typo syndrome. Every few words I type, adjacent keys get activated. I don’t have this problem on my Logitech though. Planning to get the Kick 75 hybrid with low profile keys as the Logi is now used by a family member. Can anyone who’s been using the Kick confirm how the typing experience has been? That one is such a looker!!!
This explains my pain with the Nuphy Air 75 and 96v2. Have been using the Logitech G515 for almost 3 weeks now, and I'm really impressed with how easy it is to type on. I have the white, so got the tactile brown keys - i like clicky ones, but this us nothing to complain about. Would've loved for this to have the volume roller. Im fact, I did consider the G915 X TKL, but that wasn't available in white and I watched a youtube review that clearly gave the G515 an advantage for productivity use. I'm just curious to try the G915 X and the MX Mech Mini, but may end up getting another G515
Just as an update, used the Nuphy Air 96v2 and Logitech G515 intermittently throughout the day today. I had zero typos and a much smoother typing experience on the Logitech. The Nuphy blue "clicky" keys sound nice, but appears I'll need to use the keyboard for a real long time to get used to the spacing and sensitivity
Yep, that's right. ANSI isn't a problem for me as I began typing with this layout - as long as the keyboard is configured as "International", it will output all the characters I need. I even prefer that over the local (ABNT) layout, though, to be frank, I have no problem using either. Currently, the "small brand" keyboard that is closer to my requirements would be the Keychron K5 Max. Cheapest one available is priced at around $185 USD, exactly like the MX Keys, but, and I believe I've said it before, it lacks see-thru keys and the replacement ABS see-thru is very expensive (not to mention, they're out of stock right now). There's not much elsewhere with comparable specs. On a sidenote, the G515 TKL wireless is going for under $100, brand new (not open box, not refurbished), and that's pretty hard value to beat at this moment, from any brand, as its virtually half the price of anything that is even remotely similar to it and it is even cheaper than its price overseas (something exceedingly rare for us). Once those units end, its price is probably going back up to the +$160 again and never coming down. It's not my ideal keyboard but, at this value, it's probably best to get that and alternate with my MX Keys when I need a full-sized productivity keyboard.
I agree with this. I have the wired g515 with browns and love it. Only thing that bothered me was how fast my wasd became smooth. I like the clean simple look of the keyboard
Logitech G515 is good for gaming with wireless and custom keys, but the Keychron K3 Pro is really nice for typing and it's smaller. If you want something that works for both work and gaming, the Keychron might be better low-profile vs. magnetic switches? It's up to you; low-profile can be easier on your hands for long typing. Check out keyboardyeti for some info on low-profile keyboards that could help you choose.
I bought a Logitech g515 tkl wired last week and so far I like it. I bought a refurbished one directly from Logitech and with the new email rebate it came to 82$ + taxes (in Canada). Couldn't find anything else at that price that has the features I wanted.
You won't find any decent mechanical keyboards at that price. I generally recommend looking for a g515 tkl that you can typically get for around €100 from time to time. Mainly as I prefer low profile switches. Outside of that, a Logitech g pro can be gotten for around €80. Avoid anything with extra programmable buttons along the left edge (such as g915 non-TKL). You generally hit them instead of CTRL, SHIFT, etc... and it's really annoying.
Hi guys, i know this keyboard is kinda overpriced and not greatly looked upon, however, in my country(Egypt), there really are no other similar options. Keychron / Nuphy / Corsair and ALOT more are just not available here Mostly red dragon, razer, logitech. I'm used to laptop keyboards and HATE the bulky feel of traditional mechanical keybaords and the keycaps themselves, i tried the g515 at a store and loved how the keycaps are thin and flat I'm on my desk for 12hrs a day to work/code and casual gaming so i'm willing to pay if its gonna be good. Appreciate any feedback!
Really depends on what you're looking for, I often switch between my G515 and Wave keys- Personally it's by far one of my favorite keyboards. I find it super comfortable, I'd say if you've already tried it at the store and liked it, it's a great sign that it might just be the perfect fit for you!
Might be a little bit over budget but I use the G515 and it's been a treat! It has a really clean typing feel, if you like low-profile boards, it's a solid choice.
