"the G910 every single key double/triple typed or refused to register at all conveniently right as the warranty ended, it wasn't a cheap keyboard purchase either."

"Had this issue with my replacement G910, first one led was bad and logitech replaced it, the new G910 got the double type issue with around 8 months of use and logitech didn't wanna deal with it since it was something like 1-2 months out of warranty ... If it doesn't have something like double typping issue for sure it is. I had one G910 with this issue and if you look up you will find many people that had it."

"They're known to develop mechanical chatter, double-presses. ... Mine started right after warranty, and Logi was no help. ... this chatter happened to him very recently with his G910 ... cleaned the hell outta the switches, even tried a software fix to suppress the double-presses to no avail. ... I was so angry at the time I ended up going (and overpaying for) with a Topre Switch keyboard."

I don't really buy cheap keyboards or monitors. I just don't mind spending money on things that I use a lot. I like the logitech g910 a lot because it has gkeys to the left. I use them a lot for camera positions in sc2. For other keyboards I really like the das keyboard 6 professional for travel. Similar to the g910, It let's me bind the analog wheel to basically anything and setup macros for mmo's like FFXIV, but instead of through the mkeys it does it through software.. Also, it let's me quickly adjust the volume during conference calls similar to the g910, but it's quite a bit smaller and made out of aluminum which is just lighter and stronger than the plastic of the logitech. I doubt there's really too much of a real difference though.

Need something new. Been gaming on the Logitech Orion G910 for the last nine years but the space bar is now broken. Considering my searching on this sub liking that keyboard seems like sacrilege, I'm hoping to find a good replacement. I'm not against buying a kit of some kind to assemble myself but also too I'd rather do my due diligence for finding a good one. Reasons I liked the G910: 1. I genuinely liked the tactile feel of the keys. Like the bump it had felt like I was actually pressing a button as opposed to a linear key where there's no feedback until its fully compressed. From what I can tell it seems like Glorious Mako's or MX browns are the closest to the roamer G's? But I'm not sure what else I can find. 2. I like having a 100% keyboard. I don't use the keypad every day but when I do use it I like having it. 3. The palm rest on it was nice. I'm not against having a separate one but it was nice to have. 4. Edited in: A metal case would be nice but not required. 5. I'm not going to be an enthusiast here. I play a variety of games but I'm not looking to be heavy into the weeds of building my own legion of keyboards because I enjoy the hobby. Just want something that works well. I just want a keyboard that will be durable, functionally good, preferably not have crap software, and ideally last as long if not longer than the G910 I'm now having to replace. Advice will be greatly appreciated.

I swear by my Logitech G910. It’s been working for me for years. I use Logitech’s old software on it because their new software keeps breaking and they won’t fix it. This one is tactile, but not clicky, includes macro keys, and has neat little phone stand :3 https://preview.redd.it/p1j9ixffu3te1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23a52a7e8e140d7329a3c73fc2b6a6f6dee24006

Some things to know about Logitech’s software issues first… Their old software: can’t do macros that include mouse buttons. (The option’s there but it doesn’t work). It also doesn’t accept newer Logitech devices. Their new software: After a while, it will lose the ability to profile switch which can only be rectified by resetting all of your profile/app data for it. Requiring you to re-do all of your profile work. This has been an issue for nearly a decade and they won’t be fixing it, it seems.

I’d avoid Razer products. They’re pretty but they’re software is so bloated and slow it should be classified as malware and in my house we have a 100% failure rate within the first 1-2 years, and we’ve bought a lot of products from them. I like my old logitech G910, but Logitech refuses to fix their software and it’s been nearly a decade since it’s had horrible issues with breaking and needing you to reset all data. I use their more functional old software, but that’s a luxury not afforded to users of their newer products. At this point I might just recommend a brand that doesn’t come with awful software, because it seems like these big companies all push horrible bloated and non-functional software nowadays.

I'd like to say you're wrong, but looking from my experience in last 6 years... It seems you're absolutely right. I don't think they are stupid to make such mistakes in design, materials and components. So I think they really do it on purpose, and this is outrageous! G510, G910, G613, G915 - they all were total disappointment and waste of money. It's a shame, but Logitech keyboards can't even compete in quality/price with Chinese nonames from aliexpress 👿Both have no spare parts, both have cheap materials, both can break in under 2 years, but Logi is x5 more expensive.

i can't disagree with this at all, i have been using 5 logitech keyboard in the past 10 years, all of them broke just like several months after 2 years, which put me out of warranty. All the double clicking issue persist from the G413 all the way to G910 and even G815. Now i'm using K100 as well, just that my issue is that it's very sensitive and can easily triggered. so i modified some of the switches with 65gr springs

continuing my thread on [https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/1gqpzcw/does\_logitech\_gaming\_keyboard\_is\_the\_only\_one/](https://www.reddit.com/r/LogitechG/comments/1gqpzcw/does_logitech_gaming_keyboard_is_the_only_one/) After thinking for some time, i would like to bring my verdict on the Logitech Gaming Keyboard # TLDR: Disappointing and probably malliciously deisgned to maximize out of warranty break ## Keycap designed to be mechanically fail If you take a look at how Romer-G and GL switches designed, they are designed to have small plastic latching point, hopefully broke upon detaching keycap for cleaning after some time. This always happening to all my Romer-G switches: G910, G613, and G413, which i broke some of the attach points. This is the example of Romer-G attach contact: https://ae-pic-a1.aliexpress-media.com/kf/Se5bbb95a04ba4417ab230400fe902e36O/For-Logitech-G910-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard-Original-Replacement-Keycaps-a-Full-Set-Replacement-of-113-Keycaps.jpg_.webp Romer-G switch: https://ae-pic-a1.aliexpress-media.com/kf/Sbcd7e2c61a4b485390fee8b216c84d78I/4Pcs-Romer-G-Switch-For-Logitech-G810-G910-G413-G513-Pro-Mechanical-Keyboard-Repair-Parts.jpg_.webp Why use 4 small and weak plastic latching slots rather than one big strong joint such as Cherry-MX? In the other hand, the Logitech GL switch is also very worrysome with 2 weak attach point prone to breaking as well. ## Endurance All the logitech keyboard that i have in the past 10 years, all has issue with some switches breaking just short after 2 years, which is outside of warranty. The issue is not only happening to me but my sister as well, especially those using Romer-G Switches. As the time of me writing this, i have been using my Logitech G813 with GL switches since August 2022, and now the N, P, and Enter key is double clicking or unregistering the click, which causes a lot of pain for me as programmer. Got one time the G613 with Romer-G switch have the Tab switch broke completely not registering at all just 2 months before the warranty void, allowing me to claim warranty on the product. ## Conclusion So after all those observation, i would like to conclude: - Logitech designed their product to likely broke just several months after 2 years time to make their fanboy buy new one - Logitech designed their product to be unrepairable/difficult to repair with no spare part available - Logitech designed their product to likely broke with user-error with weak mechanical strength on the attachment point - My verdict is this is malicilously designed

so far my G813 which is not romer G has not broke any pins. The G910 and G613 which used romer g broke legs with just like 1-2 clean off. still you can see that G913 and G813 family have a very weak attach point prone to break if we compare with cherry mx style keycaps

I used a Logitech G910 for 10 years - a good keyboard, but with buggy software. And since magnetic keys are better for gaming, I switched to **Wooting**. It doesn't require software (the settings are stored on the keyboard), but you can't set up macros. If you really need to, you can always use AHK, which is more stable than any software from peripheral.

UPDATE: I went with Cherry MX browns. I know I like those the best out of everything I've tried. Hey all. I’m a big fan of Cherry MX switches, and I am thinking of getting a new keyboard. My first mechanical keyboard, a Logitech G610 Orion, had Cherry MX Browns, which I first used at home for gaming and then later took to work. I loved that keyboard as it wasn’t THAT loud but the tactile feel of the keys felt solid. When Covid hit and I worked from home, I bought myself a Logitech Orion Spectrum G910… and I promptly returned it as it was needlessly huge and I did not care for the aesthetics or the switches. Then I got a Logitech G815 with GL clicky switches. I loved the soft click but did not like the low profile keys and eventually they also developed bad wobble, so it too had to go. After that I went a completely different direction and got a Corsair K70 RGB TKL Champion Series with the Cherry MX Speed switches. I’ve liked Corsair keyboards ever since. This keyboard was AWESOME to game on, but I found it very difficult to type accurately on. I got a new 100% work from home job back at the end of 2023 and so I got a Corsair K95 Platinum XT with Cherry MX blue switches (this is my current keyboard). I love the build quality and feel of this keyboard. It is simply awesome for working, but after having it some time, I’m finding myself pretty overstimulated by the noise when gaming on it. It’s a shame because it really is the best keyboard I’ve ever had and will last a long time and the key press to me feel so solid and true. Now I am at a point where I am thinking of replacing it for something quieter (and my wife would probably be a lot happier too). I am considering the Corsair K70 Pro RGB with either Cherry MX browns or reds. I know I liked the browns for work and gaming, but also know that I loved the linear MX speeds for gaming but found them too sensitive for work. I’m not the best typist and do tend to type heavy and bottom out my keys. Should I stick to what I know and get browns to give me that tactile resistance I like for work? Or take a chance and go with reds? Are the reds like the MX speeds in that I will find them too sensitive for work? I will add that the entire time I went through different keyboards at home, my original Logitech G610 with browns continued to serve me well for years at work until I moved jobs.

Been using the the same 502 mouse since it came out. For the 910 I replaced it once cuz a small child broke it. For the keycaps. Its 12$ on ebay.

I used to only buy Logitech, but the G910 was a major disappointment. After a few years, it started double typing and nothing ever prevented it. I replaced it with a Steelseries Apex 3, which costs a third and still performs excellently. We‘ll see how it holds up, but even if it only makes it to 3 years, it‘ll be cheaper than the Logicrap. „But the Apex 3 is not mechanical“, you will say. So? I notice no difference. Except that it‘s quiet. Really, really quiet.
