"Generally speaking, mechanical keyboards still have the upper hand when it comes to sound... ... They sound better to me, so they're less distracting, and that motivates me to use them. ... In general, I prefer mechanical keyboards for the sound. When they figure out how to make HE switches sound as good as mech switches, I'll be all over that."

Nuphy Air96 v2 is not HE, but they have some HE boards. I have the Air60 and it's not bad, but I prefer full-height boards. On your Glorious board you could try swapping the switches for some Tecsee half-low-profile switches (and matching stabs), they're regular MX below the plate and LP above the plate. * https://www.amazon.com/Tecsee-Mechanical-Keyboard-Lubricated-Peripheral/dp/B0BZGV48BQ * www.amazon.com/Tecsee-Installation-Translucent-Stabilizers-Mechanical/dp/B0BZCWZB2N

Keyboards and mice are highly subjective. You can buy something like a Keychron or Redragon and these are much higher end than the vast majority of people would ever buy, but they’re more in the mid range and entry level mechanical keyboard class. Keychron are on par or a little better than many mechanical gaming keyboards from bigger brands, just for half the price and a lot less flash. But you can quickly get into the $400 or even $4000 range with keyboards. It’s a deep rabbit hole of customization with little to no “performance“ benefit over a Keychron, and in some cases may be worse. I’d say a ”high end” keyboard would be something like a Wooting 60HE or NuPhy Air60 HE are “high end” if you’re looking for gaming specific keyboards with actual benefits over a Keychron. Or something like a Das Keyboard or HHKB for high end coding / typing keyboards.

**·** The trigger and release points of general mechanical keyboards are fixed, but HE/TMR keyboard's are customizable. And currently many brands of keyboards already support 0.01 accuracy. That is to say, pressing 0.01mm further from the trigger point will input and releasing 0.01mm will stop. Relatively dynamic trigger and release points are more helpful in FPS games that require faster reactions. **·** Functionally, they're all pretty much the same. Power-wise, the TMR keyboard consumes less power. But for now, Hall keyboards have more options. So I would suggest that you can think in terms of preferred design or focus on features. r/keyboardsMechanical vs Hall Effect – Which keyboard makes more sense for me?

Honestly, unless you're looking to dump $100+ into a keyboard, HE doesn't make sense. Cheap HE boards are just not it in terms of reliability, build quality, and software experience. The cheapest HE board I can actively recommend is something like a NuPhy Field 75 HE or Air60/75 HE. Keychron's K2 HE or K4 HE are also a steal for what they cost. But it's all preference. Generally speaking, mechanical keyboards still have the upper hand when it comes to sound, and to a degree build quality. But if you're not particular about sound, and you can handle more or less only having linear switch options, HE is fantastic for both work and play.

TMR is supposed to be the best from a technical standpoint, but I don't think anyone can actually notice a difference in accuracy... As for a combination of good features, fast response times, and good build quality, look at NuPhy, Iqunix, and Keychron/Lemokey (there's only one Lemokey keyboard with 8 kHz polling, but that's also marketing wank IMO). The only reason I hesitate to recommend a wooting to anyone is because they can't be used as "daily drivers" by a lot of people because of the lack of onboard macros.

Not really. The NuPhy keyboards will feel a little stiffer compared to the 80HE. Both will require mods to sound truly good. Just different mods. The Iqunix HE boards are pretty solid across the board aside from the software being a little less intuitive and polished. Keychron and Lemokey's wireless HE boards are all limited to 1 kHz polling, but you'll NEVER notice 1 kHz vs 8 kHz in a keyboard. There's one Lemokey board that's 8 kHz. I think the L5 HE (?) but that's also only wired lol. The biggest drawback with Keychron/Lemokey HE boards is that they're only compatible with Gateron Double-Rail Magnetic switches (and unofficially, the switches that the Glorious GMMK 3 Pro HE uses). So that's a downside if you wanted to try other switches. But those Gateron switches are decent. The rest (stuff like build quality, keycaps, sound, and feel) all match or surpass Wooting.

If you want a Hall effect keyboard, the NuPhy Air75 HE and Air60 HE are some of the best bang-for-the-buck options IMO. You should also look into the models u/ArgentStonecutter mentioned.

r/keyboardsWork + FPS Gaming: Nuphy, Lofree or Iquinix

I have the Lofree flow1, Nuphy Air 60&75 v1, and the iQunix Magi65 without the dial. The Magi65 feels significantly better to type on and more premium than the other two. It also supports via for mapping, but is a bit heavy so I only use if at home. The Lofree feels better than the Nuhy to type on, but the v1 doesn’t support any mapping software and is 75% so I mostly use the nuphy at work/traveling but it feels pretty cheap. In an open office environment I would swap out the switches for silent switches, my partner has hades in a Lofree flow lite and it is far less annoying but a bit less pleasant to type on.

Yeahhh.... don't go for that one. Since you have that budget, I'd much rather suggest the Iqunix Magi65 (super creamy, my friend has it) or the NuPhy Air 60/75. Pretty sweet keyboards. Do you know Indian websites to get them from or would you like suggestions?

Oh yeah, it is a wonderful keyboard. My friend has the Pro version with the volume Knob and media control keys and I have typed on it. It is buttery smooth and the sound is creamy and soft to the ears. It is quite heavy though. So you won't be able to comfortably travel with it. If you were to do that, I'd suggest a NuPhy or LoFree keyboard.

Probably the only keyboard thats going to tick all those boxes is the NuPhy Air. It comes in 75 and 96 low profile layouts, 1000hz wireless polling rate, alu frame with injection molded plastic bottom, per key RBG. The only problem is while it is hotswap, as of this comment, I believe that NuPhy is still using proprietary low profile sockets, so it will only fit NuPhy low - profile and a select few Gateron low profiles. I think the quietest NuPhy switch is the Wisteria linear, but as far as I know its not being marketed as a true "silent" switch
