Razer - BlackWidow Chroma V2

Hey all. currently I am rocking a Blackwidow Chroma V2 with orange switches and I would like to switch to a proper hot swappable keyboard. I ask here since the wiki was last updated in 2022. I would like to have a 100% keyboard (german layout) with silent tactical keyswitches, similar to orange switches from razer again, preferably a magnetic armrest, backlighting, and maybe a wireless option. Edit: The Budget is 150–250 Euro. I am currently eyeballing the Ducky one X but I am not sure about the new inductive switches and would like to have the input from some keyboard veterans. <3 Thanks all for your help and patience and I wish you a splendid week :)

What breaks first in a mechanical keyboard? Bad question for my understanding maybe but I’m looking to replace my Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2. Not ever input is being detected on some keys, I’m assuming it’s the switch failing but I don’t want to/can’t replace them. Wanted to buy a new one, full size is non-negotiable, but (functionally) the only choice available for UK that’s ISO is the Keychron V6 which I can’t find from a UK retailer, and Q6 which has repeated reported problems with the actual PCB. Having spent more time than I wanted, I’m half willing to just buy another Blackwidow, but in 7 years time I’ll be in the same situation with an unusable keyboard because I can’t replace one key. Question being 1. What typically breaks first 2. Is Q6 Max good enough, even account for potential failure outside warranty (as Section 75 might not protect a “custom” item)

My Razer Black Widow v2 has lasted like 5 years with no wear at all.

I actually prefer the longer travel, myself, but that might be because I have fairly big hands. I'm on an old Blackwidow with green switches, and I love it. this is my second blackwidow, and I've probably had this one for at least 3 or 4 years, and I game for at least 4-5 hours almost every night. It's starting to show it's age, though, so I'm debating between another Blackwidow or a SteelSeries Apex 7 with Blue switches (similar switches to the Razer Green).

I literally just bought a new one after 10 years. I watched a ton of YouTube videos, rated a bunch at a Microcenter, and settled on the Keychron Q1 Max. Whereas I prefer a full keyboard I was sold on the idea of more desk/wrist space for my mouse. If you need a full sized one the Q6 Max was the other model I looked at. My previous model was a Razor Chroma Black Widow that was very clicky. The board is very heavy and solidly made. To my untrained self, the keys feel nice to press. It has wired, blue tooth and Wi-Fi; the latter of which I plan to use when switching to my work computer. LED lighting is nice but flawed. The colors are pretty but it doesn't light the whole key which means if you buy see through letter keys, the light won't shine through the lettering. The key shapes I'm not used and I can only describe it as feeling a bit tall and too close together. I'm not used to no number pad and the delete key being in a completely new location but I'm giving it a chance. I spent over an hour typing a short story last night, and it went pretty quick. I had more typos than usual but that's due to getting used to a new keyboard.

I used to have a Razor Blackwidow keyboard as well. Then I switched to Alienware. Definitely want to go with CORSAIR next, and I was thinking K100 also! Thanks for sharing your experience with it.

I like Corsair keyboards but I find razer black widow series to be better all around.

Been my goto set since sc2 released. During beta though i was using an old, and tiny ps2 keyboard that was phenomenal and i doubt any other keyboard could beat in my eyes. Look for a smaller set of keys? Youll adjust to the bw quicker than you think, but as a recommendation, also get the naga so you dont have to move your keyboard hand all that much. It’s helped me fathoms over the years

Learned to play Zerg on a Blackwidow way back in the day still miss the black switches tbh. Heavy and clacky
