I currently own a full size Chroma V2 with yellow switches and I’m looking for a 75% keyboard with responsive keys as I look for every advantage I can get lmao I find the yellow keys pretty responsive and I want something on that level and ideally even better/faster My budget is about £60-£70 and I don’t mind buying used. So far I’ve stumbled across a used Huntsman TE with red switches for £30 and I’m debating that however I’ve read that whilst responsive they are also super easy to active. Are there any used keyboards I can snag for around that price that are mega responsive? I’m not fussed about RGB or any of the sort, just want a keyboard that allows me to get them great rapid response times for proper competitive gaming
Hey all. currently I am rocking a Blackwidow Chroma V2 with orange switches and I would like to switch to a proper hot swappable keyboard. I ask here since the wiki was last updated in 2022. I would like to have a 100% keyboard (german layout) with silent tactical keyswitches, similar to orange switches from razer again, preferably a magnetic armrest, backlighting, and maybe a wireless option. Edit: The Budget is 150–250 Euro. I am currently eyeballing the Ducky one X but I am not sure about the new inductive switches and would like to have the input from some keyboard veterans. <3 Thanks all for your help and patience and I wish you a splendid week :)
What breaks first in a mechanical keyboard? Bad question for my understanding maybe but I’m looking to replace my Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2. Not ever input is being detected on some keys, I’m assuming it’s the switch failing but I don’t want to/can’t replace them. Wanted to buy a new one, full size is non-negotiable, but (functionally) the only choice available for UK that’s ISO is the Keychron V6 which I can’t find from a UK retailer, and Q6 which has repeated reported problems with the actual PCB. Having spent more time than I wanted, I’m half willing to just buy another Blackwidow, but in 7 years time I’ll be in the same situation with an unusable keyboard because I can’t replace one key. Question being 1. What typically breaks first 2. Is Q6 Max good enough, even account for potential failure outside warranty (as Section 75 might not protect a “custom” item)
My Razer Black Widow v2 has lasted like 5 years with no wear at all.
I've been waiting for my black widow chroma to die for a decade at this point. They're overpriced and not great quality but they can last
I don't quiet have piano fingers(I'm a bass player, no pick). I have a Razer black widow that's about 12 or so years old, but I hear their quality isn't so great anymore. Maybe something old enough that the caps are on steel posts? That'll probably require a ps2 to usb adapter though, and may not function in bios.
Nope. My Black Widow is still going after 12 years or so. I just wish that it was louder and clankier with more resistance.
I mean.. mouses are kinda a preference item.. personally I use a mouse with a ton of buttons.. if you want to get him one like that Best Buy has a good Corsair one on sale for $50.. there are other options too.. You should ask him what type of mouse he likes. You didn't say how much you want to spend.. I got my brother a Red Dragon set for Christmas like 5 years ago and he was still using it when I went to Thanksgiving at his house last month.. so I can say those are good if you're looking to keep the set around $50 total. If you want to spend more than that I would just look around and look at sales.. Keyboards are pretty straight forward.. make sure it's mechanical or membrane and has good reviews.. I am using a Razer Black Widow keyboard I bought on sale a few years ago and I definitely recommend it.. very nice keyboard. If you don't want to spend that much tho.. you can get the Ornata for way less and it's a nice keyboard as well.
I like Corsair keyboards but I find razer black widow series to be better all around.
