That's what I use at home, though with the green switches. It's great for gaming and for typing. I have one complaint, and it's that the switches aren't hot-swappable. This hasn't mattered yet, nor has it mattered on my Blackwidow 2014 that I've had for 10 years. Just note that size and switch type are both matters of preference. I like full-size 104+ keys, but linear switches make me want to die Edit: am I being downvoted for liking full size keyboards, or for not having problems with them? Like I'll take the downvote, but at least explain your position like an adult
r/keyboards • Need help finding a good gaming keyboard for my husband. ->I have the blackwidow 2014, it's called that way because until 2013 they were made by a good OEM keyboard maker with cherry switches, and the 2014 model switched to kailh, that were ok, but OEM keyboard changed too and they used the crappiest keycap I had. I bought it used for 30€ and I still regret it. The current meta for keyboard is either a hall effect (HE) keyboard but there are not enough choices on switches or a mechanical keyboard with latest refinement like gasket mount and no big brand offer that. If you go optical or HE keyboard, better go keychron than razer.
r/keyboards • Need help finding a good gaming keyboard for my husband. ->I keep buying razer black widow orange and yellows because I'm dumb
r/buildapc • What are you go to Keyboards? ->I do have a gaming PC, but I spend most of my time typing (working and studying from home), so I’m using most keys from 7-7pm. Perhaps the use-case also has something to do with the fatigue? Either way, my low-profile mechanical has been a godsend, I do like the Razer TKL, but I wish I could also get it with a similar profile instead of orange switches.
r/razer • Are razer keyboards bad or it’s just internet thing? ->I used to have a Razor Blackwidow keyboard as well. Then I switched to Alienware. Definitely want to go with CORSAIR next, and I was thinking K100 also! Thanks for sharing your experience with it.
r/Corsair • Best keyboard I've ever had. K100 ->I like Corsair keyboards but I find razer black widow series to be better all around.
r/Corsair • Keyboards ->Been my goto set since sc2 released. During beta though i was using an old, and tiny ps2 keyboard that was phenomenal and i doubt any other keyboard could beat in my eyes. Look for a smaller set of keys? Youll adjust to the bw quicker than you think, but as a recommendation, also get the naga so you dont have to move your keyboard hand all that much. It’s helped me fathoms over the years
r/starcraft2 • Keyboard for Zerg! ->Learned to play Zerg on a Blackwidow way back in the day still miss the black switches tbh. Heavy and clacky
r/starcraft2 • Keyboard for Zerg! ->ironically i am typing this from my razer black widow that i've had for a whole year and one month, whose a key and spacebar refuse to work consistently even when firmly pressed, after searching for a new keyboard to buy. it's driving me insane...................
r/HyperX • Is HyperX Alloy Origins Core Mechanical Keyboard Is it still good option in end 2024 and good for longevity & long use and good keys? ->Had a Blackwidow and a Huntsman Analog Mini The Blackwidow had switch failure where a switch would not properly depress. The metal leaf contact inside the switch had shorn off, IDK how that’s even possible given the box-style switch they use, but having the metal leaf flake off and interfere with the spring is frustrating, especially since opening the damn thing to repair it is such a chore. The Huntsman’s stabilizer clips looked particularly shoddy, lots of flashing on the plastic, really finnicky to reassemble, I wasn’t confident in using it. I have a particularly heavy hand especially when gaming, I have a tendency to piano roll keys, and the stabs would not have held up if they were moulded incorrectly. When a $28 Royal Kludge bottom of the barrel mechanical keyboard has a better stabilizer than the Huntsman Mini, which is more than double the price, something is wrong.
