Razor Huntsman Mini is my recommendation. $70 on Amazon. I've bought a couple, one for $30 and one for $50, through facebook marketplace. Good key action. Some come with purple switches, some with red. I have one white and one black, love both.

So I switched from Windows11 to linux. I had a razer huntsman with optical switches and it was ok in windows. It was very loud and the dial was always flaky. Even using open razer I wouldn’t recommend any razer stuff in linux. You can change some of the RGB stuff but changing anything meaningful doesn’t work. I have a 65% keychron HE keyboard now and it works perfectly in linux. You can set the RGB stuff but you can set actuation points or change what keys do what. And it does that using a web app so nothing needs installing. Works with bluetooth, wired or using the included wifi dongle.

If your going for hall effect then the wooting HE is the best in raw performance along with Razers optical in the huntsman. For actually using the wooting would be better. Nuphy field 75 HE, Halo 65HE, Wooting 80& 65, keychron Q1 he, k4 he, or Lemokey P1 HE. I like the Lemokey since it's keychron with the same webapp, it's full metal, it costs ~$160 which makes it middle of the price pack but not as expensive as a metal wooting. The L5 is similar with slightly better polling rate. The Nuphy Field 75 is also good, but it's a bit gamery and plastic.

>razer huntsman mini this board is not hotswappable with normal mechanical switches, it uses a different tech that doesn't have any options for different switches You would have to get a entirely different board but you can just put any keycaps since it just has the + (the cross shape) stem [https://wiki.keyboard.gay/KEYCAPS.html](https://wiki.keyboard.gay/KEYCAPS.html)

I would definitely go with the Huntsman Mini. I've been using one for over three years, and it's excellent for cramped desk spaces like ours. I also used to use a 100% membrane keyboard, and the Huntsman Mini is a huge leap in terms of size, feel, sound, and gaming performance.

Absolutely it is. I've been using one for nearly three years, and my friend recently bought one himself. It's an excellent gaming keyboard with PBT keycaps, super smooth and fast optical switches, and a small footprint to save desk space. You're probably not going to find significantly more features in a similarly priced keyboard, especially given the price the Huntsman Mini is going for these days.

No, the only switches that you can swap yours out for are other Razer Optical Switches. It’s not a mechanical keyboard, let alone a hot-swappable mechanical keyboard, so you cannot install brown switches (which are arguably a downgrade from any Razer Optical Switch).

A keyboard I reccomend is the huntsman v2 or v2 tkl. I have the tkl version of this keyboard with linear switches and the build quality and sound is pretty good. You might wanna lube the stabilizers tho. The huntsman mini is also pretty good. If you do decide on buying any of the huntsman keyboards, always get linears because the clicky switches are horrible and arent the same as like a traditional clicky switch like razer greens.

You need the razor huntsman mini because even though there better keyboards since your thing about keyboards for games like valorant and cs you need razor for snap-tap so you can counter strafe insanely fast and its in your price range 80-120 if you want better maybe the wooting 60 he again(if you dont want stuff like that its fine but it will help)

I had both the razor huntsman and the Hyperx alloy origins 60 mechanical keyboard. The razor Huntman mini is faster, but the hyper X feels better. The hyper X has an aluminum back plate making it heavy. The razor huntsman mini feels a little bit cheaper compared to the hyper X I would get whatever is cheaper and are these prices USD? if so, they are not worth it

I just recently purchased one but want to get brown switches for it, can I just swap out the razer purples and put browns in or would that just be a downgrade, or do I have to purchase razer switches for it?

Huntsman mini was my first “decent” keyboard and it honestly lasted me a long time without any issues before I upgraded. I will say through, missing the arrow keys and function keys were a lot more annoying than I anticipated. I eventually went to a TKL and now I’m on a 75%. Between the ones u listed, prob the mini or the analog full size. I understand razer gets a lot of hate, more times than not, understandably so but as someone who’s had no issues with any of their products(stereo, mousepads, mice, keyboard, etc) besides there being better options out there, the only thing I’d recc is their mice and keyboarbs. Are they the best? No. Are they still decent if you find them at the right price? Absolutely. Lotta people saying wooting make amazing keyboards to which I agree but you also gotta consider that their 60HE starts at $251 CAD and 80HE starts at even more than that where’s you can get a huntsman v2 TKL with red switches from bestbuy for like $100 when it’s on sale every other week. If you’re willing to branch out tho, you can usually make a half decent custom keyboard for a little bit more,

i get that especially, for those os us in the usa, we are now screwed over by tariffs for things coming from outside out borders - which is how bezos wanted it and got it. I have had sooo many corsairs, razers, and logitechs that my eyes were opened by what exists out there thats NOT the big name brands with the huge marketing budget. While Razer seems to have improved quite a bit lately, they still charge too much for what you get - plastic everything. again, sadly, we are now kinda hosed by tariffs but things like the qwertykeys companies - EVOwork, Neo, and QK. Almost everything they make is incredible from top to bottom, inside and out. What I would like to know, is what people think of their new HEX80 HE keyboard. Monsgeek has great keyboards too for example... depending on size youd want, the M1 v5 via is incredible. I look behind me to see my Razer Hunstman mini behind me... and Razer seemed to be heading in the right direction but even now, their stuf is outshined by some of the brands i mentioned for the same cost, if not cheaper.

I've had mine for a few months now! I found it used( but looks and feels new) at a game store for $15! I love this thing! The lighting features are pretty sick. There's so much you can customize to really make it feel like your own. I've only ever had 10-15 keyboards and this feels great. The keys are pretty loud to be honest so if you or whoever your living with has sound issues, it may not be the best idea. it's very responsive as well. I play mostly competitive games and I've never had an issue with the keyboard. My boyfriend tried my keyboard and decided to buy the same one off fb marketplace. See if you can find any deals online (: I know Amazon's prices are way better than the razer website as well.

Keyboard: Huntsman Mini (red or purple switch is personal preference) Mouse: Cobra Good, budget, and Razer are three things that don't usually coincide but the Huntsman Mini and Cobra are solid picks for their price point.

Razer huntsman is fine. It's overpriced for the features list, you are mostly paying for the brand name. But it's definitely not a bad keyboard by any stretch of the imagination. My main complaint is that for the same price you could probably get a better featured Keychron, Yunzii, or Monsgeek. Features you want to look for: Double Shot Keycaps - Lots of "gaming brands"[ including Razer](https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/p2qouf/huntsman_elite_keycaps_peeling/) laser etch their keycaps, which have a much lower life expectancy. QMK/Via compatibility - This will easily allow you to set up macros and layers without needing clunky proprietary software. Razer requires you to log in to a Razer account to use those features. Hot Swap Switches - I understand you may not want to build your keyboard from scratch, and that's 100% understandable. But when a key breaks if your keyboard is hot swap you can just replace that switch. No need to send it in for repair or take the whole thing apart to solder in a new switch. It's as simple as popping the switch off and plugging in a new one.

No. I have a wooting 60 and razer huntsman (optical, but whatever). Gave them each a shot for a couple months. Went back to my varmilo manilo with khail prestige silents. Like mice, we're at the point where improvements in tech doesn't matter in real world scenarios for keyboards. IF (and this is a big if) you vastly prefer changing your actuation point on your keyboard then they might be worth it. Outside of that, it's all just preference. There are going to be some keyboards that just feel better to you, and it isn't necessarily going be because of the hall effect. Experiment with switch weight and figure out what you like, then prioritize keyboards where that's available or install those switches yourself. The reason you hear the community say they're definitely better is because they don't want to feel stupid about dropping $200+ on a keyboard that isn't much different than what they had before. I say this as a very early adopter of higher hz monitors. The difference there was obvious. There difference on keyboards is purely preference.

Had a huntsman that lasted about 3 years. Head a kraken ultimate that lasted 18 months and their support told me to go fuck myself when I inquired about the 2 year warranty. So I've said fuck em and haven't looked back. Fuck razer, all my homies hate razer

Price aside, the best is pretty subjective and depends a lot on what you’re doing and what you like. No games? Just need bare minimum grab the cheapest one from Walmart. FPS games? You’re gonna want something with fast response times. MMO games? You’re gonna want something with lots of buttons and the ability to assign macros. Do you like tactile feeling/sounds? Mechanical switches Do you want something quieter? Optical switches Do you prefer raised keys or flat keys? Do you want a light mouse or a heavy mouse? Wired or wireless? Like the others have said you won’t find anything to crazy at that price point. IMO you should get a cheap setup from Walmart and save up for something you will like while reviewing the pros/cons of the various styles. Personally I use a razor huntsman keyboard and a viper mini mouse. But before that I used the standard ones that you get from dell when you buy one of their workstations. Both did the job, I just like the pretty lights.
