>razer huntsman mini this board is not hotswappable with normal mechanical switches, it uses a different tech that doesn't have any options for different switches You would have to get a entirely different board but you can just put any keycaps since it just has the + (the cross shape) stem [https://wiki.keyboard.gay/KEYCAPS.html](https://wiki.keyboard.gay/KEYCAPS.html)

I'd recommend getting a 60% if you're gonna travel with it a lot, if you're also gonna do gaming with it then you could go for a huntsman mini. It is out of your budget range but if you use checkmate it can get you a discount and maybe be closer to your budget range. If not that redragon is good, but you should go in store to find a 60% red switch keyboard, they have a lot of blue switches so just test them out before picking one up.

I had the same board with the tactiles and if you like quiet keys they weren’t bad. I did hate that they aren’t hot swap though. I’d suggest YouTubing different switches and sound profiles before committing to another board. Do you want silent? Thocky? Creamy? (Clearly not clicky) I went down the same rabbit hole lately and didn’t know how many awesome boards are out now.

Despite playing most video games on controller, and not using my computer for much typing, I've gone through like 1 gaming keyboard a year for a while now. Each time, the switches start to skip and eventually stop working altogether. Sometimes it's related to frequent use, like the number keys for my password. But sometimes it's random. Like the "C" key on my most recent keyboard. It's starting to get annoying. Off the top of my head, I've gone through a Ducky 1 2 Mini, a Roccat Vulcan, and a Razer Huntsman Mini (although tbf I got that one used). Probably some others I'm not remembering too. I'm not trying to spend tons of money on some bespoke keyboard, but honestly at this point it might end up being cheaper for me in the long run. Do you guys have any recommendations for gaming keyboards? Preferably 100% layout, don't care about stuff like RGB.
