I had my Huntsman TE for around 4 years up until yesterday when it decided to brick itself. Think it stopped working properly, drew too much power and may have lightly avoided an electrical fire. Anyways, I’m looking for a new keyboard of similar calibre minus the arson attempt for use in competitive gaming and video editing. Good build quality, fast response and TKL are a priority. I’m not overly fussed about sound (hence why I owned a Huntsman) so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
r/MechanicalKeyboards • /r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - September 18, 2025 ->So I switched from Windows11 to linux. I had a razer huntsman with optical switches and it was ok in windows. It was very loud and the dial was always flaky. Even using open razer I wouldn’t recommend any razer stuff in linux. You can change some of the RGB stuff but changing anything meaningful doesn’t work. I have a 65% keychron HE keyboard now and it works perfectly in linux. You can set the RGB stuff but you can set actuation points or change what keys do what. And it does that using a web app so nothing needs installing. Works with bluetooth, wired or using the included wifi dongle.
r/linux_gaming • The best Gaming Keyboard to buy for Gamers now? ->completely forgot about that lmao. well in that case I would recommend OP get another decently built keyboard for typing and daily use, and use the huntsman for gaming.
r/keyboards • My Razer Huntsman Mini's keys wobble, is this normal? ->Razer huntsman is fine. It's overpriced for the features list, you are mostly paying for the brand name. But it's definitely not a bad keyboard by any stretch of the imagination. My main complaint is that for the same price you could probably get a better featured Keychron, Yunzii, or Monsgeek. Features you want to look for: Double Shot Keycaps - Lots of "gaming brands"[ including Razer](https://www.reddit.com/r/razer/comments/p2qouf/huntsman_elite_keycaps_peeling/) laser etch their keycaps, which have a much lower life expectancy. QMK/Via compatibility - This will easily allow you to set up macros and layers without needing clunky proprietary software. Razer requires you to log in to a Razer account to use those features. Hot Swap Switches - I understand you may not want to build your keyboard from scratch, and that's 100% understandable. But when a key breaks if your keyboard is hot swap you can just replace that switch. No need to send it in for repair or take the whole thing apart to solder in a new switch. It's as simple as popping the switch off and plugging in a new one.
r/keyboards • A good mechanical keyboard for mostly gaming with that thocky sound. ->it's good for gaming (counterstrafing) however i don't think it's worth it overall. good quality but you can get better keyboards for way cheaper and at the end of the day the snap tap isn't life changing
r/keyboards • A good mechanical keyboard for mostly gaming with that thocky sound. ->Yes, huntsman keyboards have more wobbliness than other keyboards
r/keyboards • My Razer Huntsman Mini's keys wobble, is this normal? ->Imo, the Huntsman is awesome, i have it and the snap tap feature that comes with it is great
r/buildapcmonitors • which keyboard is good for playing shooter games? ->Hiii, i bought my huntsmann last yr december so wala pa sya 1yr pero yung isang letter iba na color ng ilaw. May idea ka ba how to fix? Yung sayo ba goods pa din ilaw?
r/PHbuildapc • what’s the best gaming keyboard? ->No. I have a wooting 60 and razer huntsman (optical, but whatever). Gave them each a shot for a couple months. Went back to my varmilo manilo with khail prestige silents. Like mice, we're at the point where improvements in tech doesn't matter in real world scenarios for keyboards. IF (and this is a big if) you vastly prefer changing your actuation point on your keyboard then they might be worth it. Outside of that, it's all just preference. There are going to be some keyboards that just feel better to you, and it isn't necessarily going be because of the hall effect. Experiment with switch weight and figure out what you like, then prioritize keyboards where that's available or install those switches yourself. The reason you hear the community say they're definitely better is because they don't want to feel stupid about dropping $200+ on a keyboard that isn't much different than what they had before. I say this as a very early adopter of higher hz monitors. The difference there was obvious. There difference on keyboards is purely preference.
r/GlobalOffensive • Are analog Hall effect keyboards actually superior? ->Had a huntsman that lasted about 3 years. Head a kraken ultimate that lasted 18 months and their support told me to go fuck myself when I inquired about the 2 year warranty. So I've said fuck em and haven't looked back. Fuck razer, all my homies hate razer
r/pcmasterrace • Why hasn't anyone made something like this since? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
