# Just bought a Razer Huntsman v2 TKL yesterday. I'm wondering if there is a way to change the actuation of the keys because as soon as i put my finger on any of the keys it feels like that key is being pressed automatically. i wanna make it so that only pressing the key fully makes it register. is there a way to do this?
I have been a razer user since i was like 7 so ive had a deathadder chrom which I liked, then a wired viper first version which i just upgraded to the v3. A kraken 7.1 that broke so quick. And I have a huntsman v2 tkl for my keyboard but I will probably replace it for a HE keyboard soon enough
Looks like that board has optical switches, so yes, you should be able to adjust the actuation point. I would not recommend setting the actuation all the way down, because you might as well just use a membrane board at that point. But you should be able to make these adjustments using Razer's software for this board. I'd check their website for a download link.
If you can still find one available, Huntsman V2 TKL with red switches.
100% recommend going to a local tech store that has some gaming keyboards and mice on display and just get a feel for them. Your accessory is a preference so its hard to give a definitive recommendation. I've had razer ornata, huntsman v2, huntsman tournament and they all have their own minor inconveniences that lead me to not use them anymore. Ornata is mechanical membrane, not particularly optimal. Huntsman v2 was a bit bulky for me (tall key caps) Tournament had too low of an actuation point (resting my fingers on the keys activated them) and did not have a feel-good press to them. Mice are the same depending on your hand size, grip, and even moisture (how much you sweat). Ultimately I have a Logitech g915 keyboard because of its short key caps and it has an overall nice feel. Rock a razer viper ultimate mouse (v1 basically) I own v2 and it just was a bit smaller and out of shape for me. I own a superlight and it was uncomfortably small as well. I have razer glass keyboard but I def recommend a slow-medium pad of whichever company you like, its just easier to use and better for tactical shooters like valorant.
i've had mixed results with razer. a blackwidow hyperspeed i got a few years ago broke recently, but a huntsman v2 i've had for over 5 years works well. i think at least their optical stuff is good. also, i think there have been a lot of issues with the blackwidow v4, but that supposedly has been resolved
i love my razer deathstalker v2 pro tkl with red switches. for gaming it's amazing, for typing, it's ok. better than my normal huntsman keyboard with red switches. it's also optical, which is a must for me in terms of reliability. sick of having double typing problems with non optical keyboards
