r/keyboardsKeyboard under $80? Is Corsair K70 Core Good? (Buying advice)

There's only two Redragon boards I would recommend, the k715 and k717. They're QMK/VIA and don't use the awful native Redragon software. One of the best options for Europeans are the oddly-named Sharkoon Skiller SGK50, they're legit QMK/VIA boards available in 60%, 75%, and 96% form factors, with plastic or wooden cases. I haven't had a chance to try one myself because they're not available in the US. Eg: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Sharkoon-Skiller-Gaming-Keyboard-Gateron/dp/B0DHCF13Q6

The only decent Redragon boards are the K717 and K715.

The software for Redragon's legacy boards ranks somewhere between awful and appalling.

Here's some 75% QMK keyboards I might recommend, prices might be a bit off because it's that time of year: * [Monsgeek M1 v5](https://www.monsgeek.com/product/m1-v5-via-rapid-disassembly/) * ($80 barebones) * [Akko 5075B VIA](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0FLDJZPH9) * ($60 barebones) * [Womier RD75](https://www.amazon.com/Womier-RD75-Pro-Mechanical-Swappable/dp/B0DG82QD1X) ($95 w/ coupon) * [Womier WD75](https://www.amazon.com/Womier-Mechanical-Swappable-Translucent-Keycaps-POM/dp/B0DT8SP79R) * (wood, $90) * [Glencreag WK84](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DYDM9N49) * (wood, $100 w/ coupon) * [Redragon K715](https://redragonshop.com/products/finke-k715-pro) * ($30, 15% off with XMAS) * [Womier Q75](https://www.amazon.com/Womier-Keyboard-Topographic-Mechanical-Swappable/dp/B0DQV22S2T) ($59) * [Womier Era75](https://www.amazon.com/Womier-Wireless-Mechanical-Pre-lubed-Swappable/dp/B0FGD7HWPW) ($63) * [Womier SK71 Pro](https://www.amazon.com/Womier-Keyboard-Mechanical-Swappable-PRO-Black/dp/B0DSFWXFV7) ($65) * [Yunzii AL80](https://www.amazon.com/YUNZII-AL80-Wireless-Mechanical-Swappable/dp/B0DT73C6VP) ($84) And a few 80%: * [Womier QK87](https://www.amazon.com/Rainy75-Multimedia-Mechanical-Swappable-Switch-Gray/dp/B0DTKDD1VK) ($46) * [Weikav Stars80 v2](https://www.amazon.com/BOYI-Aluminum-Mechanical-Keyboard-Programmable/dp/B0F6VQ7J94) ($100) * [Yunzii B87](https://www.amazon.com/YUNZII-Wireless-Mechanical-Keyboard-Programmable/dp/B0DLKZ4HBW) ($70) See if any of those spark joy.

r/keyboardsDoes Redragon have good budget keyboards?

In general no. Their software is awful. About the worst I have run into. There are three exceptions with QMK firmware that use VIA instead of the Redragon software. They are rather nice: * k715 - 75% * k717 - 60% * k742 - 96%

* [Akko 5075B VIA](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0FLDJZPH9) * ($60 barebones) * [Womier WD75](https://www.amazon.com/Womier-Mechanical-Swappable-Translucent-Keycaps-POM/dp/B0DT8SP79R) * (wood! $90) * [Glencreag WK84](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DYDM9N49) * (wood! $95 w/ coupon) * [Redragon K715](https://redragonshop.com/products/finke-k715-pro) * ($30, 15% off with XMAS) * [Royal Kludge RK R75 QMK/VIA](https://www.amazon.com/RK-ROYAL-KLUDGE-R75-Mechanical/dp/B0CWGR5KM9) * ($51 with coupon) * [Womier Q75](https://www.amazon.com/Womier-Keyboard-Topographic-Mechanical-Swappable/dp/B0DQV22S2T) ($59) * [Keychron J2](https://www.keychron.com/products/keychron-j2-qmk-wireless-mechanical-keyboard) ($70) Get silent tactile switches to reduce the impact on your hands and work on your typing posture... don't rest your wrists or arms on anything when you're typing. Outemu Silent Lemon were life-changing for me but I like the Silent Yellow Jade better now.

The K715 PRO is a great keeb but it's not tri-mode, it's USB and BT only. I totally love mine, though.
