I have 2 of these - the Redragon K552 (a few years old now) and the AULA F3287 (around 9m) I thought the latter was a great deal but it stopped working a few months ago, so will avoid AULA now. The Kumara is still running well. I am not a heavy gamer though.

I know Redragon doesn’t have the best reputation among enthusiasts, mostly because their releases over the past few years weren’t great. Still, I picked up the K708 Pro for 80 bucks yesterday and...I’m genuinely impressed. It’s factory-lubed, sounds deep and thocky, has multiple foam layers, and uses a gasket mount with a nice amount of flex. The RGB is on the dimmer side and the software is okayish. The keycaps are decent for a budget gaming board though. For the sake of comparison, I have recently tried the infamous K552 with outemu red switches at a friend's house and I got to say, it's really unpleasant to type on. So overall I think Redragon keyboards have come a long way since 2020 (The whole market has, really.) and for someone coming from an optical blue switch keyboard, the difference in sound and feel is night and day. The only tiny mod I did was put some foam around the stabs wire on the pcb, it helped reduce the spacebar clack by a lot and made it deeper. The video makes it sound really loud but it's much quieter in real life. Also inb4 someone asks why not get a keychron or Aula, the offerings are limited in Egypt, especially if you're on a budget and are trying to find a keeb with a knob.

What lunatics are recommending the Redragon Kumara? Worst keyboard ever. And yes I see people recommending the Aula F75 a lot, what's so great about it?

Redragon Kumara lists for $45.00 and it's ugly AF, uses the terrible Readragon driver that's not even uinversal for theoir boards... they package a unique separate driver for each board. And on top of that it has those horrible Outemu-style sockets... I gave up trying to pull the switches on mine, it might as well have been soldered. It's comparable to the bare Keychron C2 Pro except the C2 Pro gets you QMK/VIA support for the same price. The MageGee TKL is equally crummy, but it comes in a wide variety of colors and costs $25. Kemove K87 is $5 less and has decent Kailh-style 5-pin coskets. Womier WK87 is $36, proper 5-pin Kailh-style hotswap sockets, and I am sure Womier's software is better than Redragon's. I have its smaller and a bit newer QMK-based cousin the Womier WK61 Pro and have no complaints. So, a quick browse through Amazon, and the only board I found that isn't cheaper was a Keychron, and they price their kit pretty high. And any of these are better boards for the same or less money.

It is a worse keyboard than the Dell L100 membrane boards that I used to get from Goodwill used for $3.99.

Not exaggerating in the least. The Kumara has absolutely none of the features that represent the advantages of a mechanical keyboard over a membrane, it has nasty cheap switches, they are effectively not hot swap, it is not usefully configurable, it might as well be the keyboard that comes with your Packard Bell. It came out 10 years ago it's not surprising that it's not a modern keyboard. I'm sorry if Reddragon is dumping awful keyboards on your country, but it doesn't make them any less awful

Are keyboards like AK820 Pro and F75/S75 good for gaming? I love the sound of those keyboards but not sure should I order any of them? Atm I have redragon kumara but the sound is awful.

Keychron K2 is solid for keyboards if you want wireless, or go with a Redragon K552 if you're on a tight budget. For mice the Logitech G203 punches way above its price point

redragon should have a full size keyboard under that, they've got metal plates and the switches are hotswappable. i have had a kumara for 4 years and it's been through multiple rough flights across the country in a poorly arranged suitcase for all those years and it's still holding up nicely.

Idts you can get a high quality mech keyb and mouse here. For gaming and if you're planning on going for fps games I'd suggest the redragon kumara k552.

I have a Redragon Kumara 552 switch blue, but it is very old, despite being good. And I recently bought an AULA F75, I highly recommend it.

I think there's a flipside to this coin. There's a certain OEM flair to all of those compact 75s with a Florida arrow cluster. It looks like they share the same reutilized chassis with slight differences in molding, even the screen firmware is identical to that of Ajazz, Epomaker, Aula, Kzzi, Yunzii, you name it. I'd bet that materials used, sound and typing feel would not differ also. Same case, same gasket mounting, same foam kit, same PCB manufacturers. It's your ultimate consumer-casual-gaming board, and it's not just a sign of industry or brand development and change, it might also scream stagnation. If everybody's doing the same plastic 75 with knob because that's the easiest way to fill the segment, where's the progress? Not to shit on Redragon, I'm glad that they're showing early signs of attempts to get out of that "strictly gaming for the poor" aura, but there's such a long road ahead. I recently bought their barebones Kumara BBK552 on sale for $10 just for shits and giggles (and with an idea to turn tray mount into spring mount). How hard would it be for them to transfer from Sonix controllers to STM32 and at least provide QMK compatibility? This alone would change the game, I think.
