I got it a couple days ago and love using it for typing and gaming. However people are correct about the software, it's a mess!! Here's the thing, as far as i can see it all works pretty good when in wireless mode (Omni receiver), but when the cable is plugged in strange things happen. Then Aura sync doesn't work, neither does Aura Creator, the keyboard is no longer recognized by these programs. It has something to do with Windows 11's Dynamic lighting. There's a prompt that asks you to turn on Windows Dynamic lighting and prioritize Armoury Crate in the settings. But when i follow these instructions the RGB turns itself off on the keyboard. I'll go into Armoury crate and there it'll say that now Windows dynamic lighting is controlling the RGB, but nothing lights up. The other thing is, with these settings (Dynamic lighting On in windows settings) Aura Creator does recognize the keyboard and i can select keys etc. but it doesn't register what i'm doing for some reason. They keyboard stays dark!! So in Wired mode, i'm stuck with the standard effects 10 or so. These are slightly customizable and you CAN save these to the onboard memory (5 profiles). In wireless mode you can use Aura Sync & Aura Creator and ONLY in this mode does it let me change RGB effects per-key. But those effects created in Aura Creator cannot be saved to the onboard memory. So these only work locally with the software installed. I was really disappointed when i learned i could not use per key RGB and save them to the onboard memory, every time i have to charge the keyboard or use it on another computer my custom created effects are gone, and that's a shame! There are plenty of people complaining about this though, so it might get fixed/updated. Asus are aware of the current issues, and replied to some posts about this, claiming that they are working on it and that because of the complexity of Aura sync it's not an easy fix. So i guess it all comes down to ... HOW important is key per key customization to you? Do you have a bunch of ROG products and want to sync them all? If yes, prepare for some issues, will you use the keyboard mostly wirelessly? For me it's pretty important, but i settled for some basic customized effects with the colors i use for the rest of my system. That'll do for now when in wired mode.

Well if the RGB customization isn't that important you're good imo. The latency is exactly the same in Wired & Wireless mode 1000hz polling rate. Only bluetooth is a tiny bit slower according to the reviews. I don't use bluetooth, so i can't confirm this. My overall experience with this keyboard is excellent! Best one i ever had. And i used Corsair, Logitech, Sharkoon, etc... coming from mostly full sized keyboards it takes a little getting used to the new placement of the key's. But even after a couple of days use i wouldn't want to go back to a larger keyboard!! And it still has a num-pad! These keys are very responsive (NX Snow switches), a joy to listen 2 & game with! My last keyboard had brown switches with a little bit of a tactile feel to them, those were loud and not lubed, these are pre-lubed linear and i prefer them over anything i ever used before!! If you can, you should go to a store that displays keyboards and test them out, if that's not possible, you can always test it out at home and send it back if you don't like it of course.

I do have the same problem... I thought if was just me but when set up the RGB disapears in Armouy Crate within 3 or 4 minutes I don't know... I hoped I would find a solution but actually I don't. when I unsync the keyboard it goes full ARGB and I don't like that because I want the color to stay white... If someone comes with a solution pls DM me PLLLEEEASE !

There is a lot to say about the Scope, in terms of hardware, the NX Snow switches are spot on (great lubing from factory), very good stabilizer for the space bar, key presses are consistent, keyboard build quality is very good, wireless connectivity is great, battery life is good. 96% layout would need some getting used to if you never used this format in the past, but it's the best layout in my opinion.... 75% is not that great as I tend to use the numpad, and 100% is too large, so 96% is a great middle ground. But.. using the 96% will play some tricks on your keyboard muscle memory, "Del" key is in an awkward position, "0" numpad key is not large, right "Shift" is more to the left of the position you are used to - overall, it's not hard to get used to it, but it will take a few days. Now.. what I wish would be better on the keyboard, the fonts on the keycaps (game focused, not very visible), transparent secondary print on the keys, aluminum volume knob (the feel on it is not that great), heavier wrist pad, the one included seems very cheap. but has good ergonomics. Better LEDs or LED controller, when setting per key RGB you can't quite get the colors you want, in contrast... a high end Corsair has way better LEDs. So... what's bad about the keyboard, well... the software support (Armory Crate), which is simply atrocious, when initially installing the keyboard had some random errors which prevented me to install it, had to do some windows gymnastics in order to get it on my PC, after installation I could not update the keyboard firmware (common issue as I later found out) which required to uninstall Armory Crate, install Armory Crate Gear.. update the dongle firmware, uninstall, reinstall Armory Crate again, and update the keyboard firmware - a real pain in the a$. Also, macro functionality is not great. I tend to use it without the software. Keyboard is very good for gaming and quite good for typing (with a little bit of getting used to).

Yeah you're right! Just turn off the freaking windows Dynamic Lighting and you're good to go! i'm personally using this keyboard for a while and i've no issue with AURA SYNC nor the AC :) I know a lot users complained about the software is bad but it isn't really that bad at all, users just need to know what to do and get used to it. PERSONALLY i will take ASUS keyboard over RAZER anytime!!! the build quality and premium level really no joke unlike RAZER!!!! i'm officially done with RAZER after so many bad experiences with the blackwidow v4 pro and exchanged it for so many times

I am coming from a razer lycosa that lasted me 10+ years , the scope 96 was my go to after all the reasearch It is getting some used to, but overall is a great kb and I am happy with it The whole build quality feels and looks premium, the latency and speed in either modes wired omni etc has no difference to each other , they all work great for me , plus it is super quiet when typing The lighting and rgb stuff might be tricky but I just set some pre solid colours and done, so I am not really bothered by it Hope it helps!

I have one and I love it. It’s hot swappable and quite honestly I’ve had zero issues with Armory Crate. I’m a linear person so got the NX Snow version for switches and couldn’t be happier. For me it’s worth the price for what is included and functionality. Only thing I wish it had is being able to multi layer key macro but other than that it’s a fine board.
