I'm looking for a very quiet gaming keyboard. I have a Corsair K70 Core TKL RGB, which has Red Linear keys with "sound dampening," but it's not truly silent. When the key hits the bottom and pops back up, it makes a noise. I don't want to disturb anyone around me, without sacrificing performance. Do you know of any keyboards suitable for this situation? (TKL) Edit: Budget €100, I can go up, but I'd prefer as little as possible. Thanks
Horrible take. I own both and the f75 is above and beyond the rk84 in every way, especially the build quality.
**Edit:** Huge thanks to everyone who took the time to help! After thinking it through, I decided to go with [**Keebmonkey Crush 80**](https://redditsc.com/product/B0DJ7BJL5W?i=xoxcgfeq) since it offered the best value for the price, plus it’s on discount at the moment. :)) i've been doomscrolling for like 3 nights. keyboard shopping is a mess i'm serious. my old rk84 wired mode has input delay, probably controller dying, use it for work and gaming, like hotswap if possible. budget is flexible if it's actually worth it but i'm also not paying extra just for a logo. need something that'll last 3-4 years minimum, stable wireless and decent stock feel. skip the sponsored top 10 lists, what do you actually use?
Wired only or wireless? What size? Full, TKL, 75%? The Aula F75 is meant to be very good and around budget if you can find a UK layout black version on AliExpress. Its about £70 on Amazon UK. Logitech G G413 is a TKL for £46 on Amazon UK. I had a previous version of this; it's a solid pick. The aluminium backboard is great but the switches are not hot-swappable if you had any intention of keyboard modding. Keychron is a great brand. [This is one of their cheaper models](https://www.amazon.co.uk/Keychron-Keyboard-Programmable-Mechanical-Backlits/dp/B0D91SK1Y2/ref=sr_1_4?crid=WGZJG7D9PNPI&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.rhqvuSz_vwvV2WlhrBFM41_leI-zZ8Obh8DcrjvmOytJoRzS8UhgY2hwgCRvVHpOqGEMoihoB3789y_ieiJeAHZxuLcDPkNblqSp7TWJsvJb13QL30ACc9HiKV94g7faaa6gpVBfNJoEY15rr6vRxzUliQRmKJchzZdpEm4DvFeDjLIZX9nNg_t8xxnvoafpXyF3BxisaKhUffIV62zSb-aS_w5hTLt66Tibwskaqbw.mMvaqrR1EAvdVhOSaOk__osW_80rVydIyXqywdVuSYw&dib_tag=se&keywords=keychron%2Bc3%2Bpro&qid=1771449115&sprefix=keychron%2Bc3%2Bpro%2Caps%2C116&sr=8-4&th=1), also a non-hot-swappable TKL though there is a hot-swappable version too but can't see it for sale. Aside from those you could also take a gander at one of the chinese brands. Reddragon and Royal Kludge are reputably "okay". I'm rocking an RK84 myself. Ajazz and EPOMAKER seem to be other brands that can do decent budget boards.
HE keyboards are not exponentially better than your good value mechanical keeb mostly because their benefits are, from my point of view, marginal in nature. I bought myself an HE keyboard (Aula Hero 68HE) a few days ago and have been using it over my mech keeb (Royal Kludge RK84). Valorant/CS2 wise? I can feel the difference between the two thanks to the rapid trigger & custom deadzone setting of the Aula. I "feel" like I have more control over my movement compared to my RK84. But mind you that the RK84 is the least of what the hobby has to offer and there is significantly more variety and capability compared to HE keyboards, even more do TMR as they are both new entrants to the market. So overall, if you are casual and want to stay casual in games like CS2 & Valorant, you can still with mechanical keyboards and have more freedom with customization. But if you think or plan to become competitive in some way, you could get an HE keyboard from Mchose or Aula (Mchose has better web driver support compared to Aula, I think) though you will have less switch options.
Tbh, for a budget upgrade that lasts, I'd lean towards the AK820 Pro you mentioned. The hot-swap sockets mean if a switch fails in a few years, you can just pop in a new one instead of replacing the whole board. I've had a similar budget board for about three years now with no issues. You can check the [AK820 Pro](https://metadoraffi-eng.github.io/shopit?search_keywords=AK820+Pro+keyboard) for current pricing and reviews. If you want absolute simplicity, the Royal Kludge RK84 is another reliable option around that price that's built pretty solid. The foam and lubed switches in the AK820 will feel and sound much better than the Logitech, honestly.
