Have recently built my first gaming PC, looking for recommendations on a decent starter keyboard. Currently have a SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL but want to look at other options. I appreciate this is subjective but would be nice to have some ideas. I have looked into Aula/Epomaker/Yunzii etc and not sold on how cheap they can appear/feel based on reviews.

I have the TKL. I love it. Cheap, small, quiet, quality.

They're talking about software to manage the RGB of different components in their PC. RGB controls for mice and keyboards will almost always be built into the peripheral and/or be included in the software for the peripheral anyway, so it won't be a problem. Even if it is a problem, with most peripherals you can set them up with the software and then just uninstall it to avoid issues. I think the choices you have made are great! The G305 might not be the best first-time mouse because it's not a "safe" shape, but it's a really good mouse for the price and a perfectly good choice. I would probably go for the SteelSeries Apex personally just because I'm not familiar with RK ROYAL KLUDGE and if they're a reputable brand.

I'll be honest, I don't know what mouse is similar but safer. What makes the G305 special is the iconic, flat egg shape. So as soon as the shape moves away from that I wouldn't consider it similar anymore, but that's also what makes it a less safe shape. It's also probably the best value mouse out there if you exclude the Chinese market. Any alternative will be more expensive unless you buy a wired mouse or from a budget brand. If you still want to keep the price down and you're looking for something with the same general size to the G305, maybe you could check out the MCHOSE A5 and MCHOSE L7. They're both very safe shapes with the L7 being slightly smaller. It's a Chinese brand, but it's one of the few ones that I know of. The XTRFY M42 might also be good and in my region its also at a very good price (~45$). I think you would get the best advice asking around in the mouse review subreddits or the aimtraining subreddits instead of here though. The aimtraining subreddits will tend to recommending more expensive mice, but they might also be able to recommend good mice on the Chinese market.

I actually ended up finding a decent one, I grabbed a steel series apex 3 tkl while it was on sale and I’ve been using it for a little over a week now. No issues and is super quiet

I have no issues and use it daily. It does a great job of keeping dust out, so I just blow it off every now and then where the dust just settles on top. It is still super responsive and has stayed quiet so you don’t have to worry about the whisper switches getting loud over time, they may get a little louder after a couple years but I’ve only had mine for about 3 months now so I can’t tell you if you will have issues or not. I really like the feel of the keys as well, you can feel every key click but you can’t hear it and has been a very smooth experience for me

Honestly, they're all pretty good, its all about custom preference for the most part, most keyboards from reputable retailers have been reliable and reasonably well made,I've had dozens over the years from corsair steel series and Logitech. Other than features, I see very little difference in switch quality from a $50 keyboard to a $150 one. Right now I'm using a steel series apex 3(~$40usd), technically doesn't even have mechanical switches, but the feels pretty good, I bought it because it was slightly waterproof rated, and I have a bad habit of spilling drinks on my keyboard, it's been great for that purpose, while still maintaining a "gaming feel" with responsive key presses and a low latency.

I got a stelseries apex 3 for my wife. She loves how quiet it is vs my asus strix scope 2.

I used to only buy Logitech, but the G910 was a major disappointment. After a few years, it started double typing and nothing ever prevented it. I replaced it with a Steelseries Apex 3, which costs a third and still performs excellently. We‘ll see how it holds up, but even if it only makes it to 3 years, it‘ll be cheaper than the Logicrap. „But the Apex 3 is not mechanical“, you will say. So? I notice no difference. Except that it‘s quiet. Really, really quiet.
