Not really one simple answer, it's not a one size fits all thing, been PC gaming for over 20-years, went through plenty of keyboards and mice, and it took me a while to find what I like, what form factor etc. For me, these days, depending on which games I'm playing, I use a combination of: * Logitech G502 X Lightspeed and a Steelseries Apex Pro Gen 3 TKL Wireless * Logitech Pro 2 Lightspeed and a Steelseries Apex Pro Mini Wireless I also helped a friend build his first system last month (Also a 9800X3D and 9070XT), and he ended up with a cheap / cheerful peripheral setup which totalled around £130, which when I used it actually felt pretty nice, that consisted of: * Razor Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed and a Epomaker G84 HE Keyboard My advice would be to watch and read reviews, look for pros that you consider key to your needs and cons that you can live with. As, regardless of what people say, you'll never find anything that's perfect. I would also say that these are peripherals where price doesn't always reflect quality and them being “the best”, so don't fall into that trap.

This is a decent price, but I really don't like these boards. I bought an Apex Pro TKL wireless (2023) a few years ago. The RGB is entirely tied to software that needs to run to work. It can't be programmed and defaults to rainbow without the software. After the warranty expired (1 year? IIRC) I've had five different colored LEDs fail, the blue ones specifically. So the switches that failed can no longer show blue. Overall really disappointed with the design and quality.

Currently using a Corsair K100 with OPX switches. Love the board but I'm getting gear acquisition syndrome from all these new analog rapid trigger keyboards. I've narrowed it down to the Wooting 80HE, SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL(Gen 3) and Razer Hunstman v3 Pro TKL. The newest version of the Apex Pro is on sale for just £146 atm. I work in a store that has one on display so I know I like the feel of it. The only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger is all the people insisting that the Wooting is SO much better. The Huntsman is only £30 more. I understand the typing experience on it isn't great. The reason I'm considering it is because it has all the same features as the Wooting for much less and on paper it has the best switches of the three in terms of precision and reliability (I'm sure the difference is probably imperceptible). The Wooting obviously has great reviews, but £200 for a plastic board with no PBT keycaps and no wrist rest is... bold. If you want a metal one with all that stuff, there goes another £120, for things that are standard on both other boards. I know the Wooting is the best, but I'm not a keyboard enthusiast. Is it really \*that\* much better than the other high-end boards, or would I be paying for quality differences that my palette is too unrefined to appreciate?

I ordered the Apex Pro and then discovered the software has to be running for any RGB settings to work and the actuation points you get can be \*way\* off what you actually set them to. That was enough for me to cancel my order and buy the Wooting. Guess the software was the kicker after all.

Haven't put it through its paces yet cos I've been playing Clair Obscur and Veilguard, which are both designed for controller. The new Doom and Borderlands games are next on my list though. Feels nicer to type on than the Apex, even though I do think the Apex \*sounds\* better. The zinc case has made me feel better about the price tag. Makes the board feel very premium, and it's heavy enough that I can confidently reach for it if I need to bludgeon a burglar to death. You can't put a price on that kind of quality.

It's a fantastic keyboard but I don't think it's £320 worth of fantastic. It's a 10/10 product but when you can get a 9/10 alternative for half the price it becomes a really difficult sell. The build quality and software support are first class but if you forced me to switch to the Apex Pro or the new Corsair Vanguard 96 I don't think I would miss the Wooting at all. Other than price, my only issue with the Wooting is that the default L60 switches feel a touch heavy, especially for WASD movement. If you do get one, I would recommend ordering one with the L45s instead.

I like my Apex Pro Gen 3. Hardware wise it’s even nicer than my first Gen Apex Pro - software wise it got worse (no onboard memory anymore) The quick alternating keypresses are nice and it can be so sensitive that simply putting my hand on the key presses them.
