Drastic improvement in movement responsiveness going from an old mechanical switch to a Hall effect. Most half-decent Hall effects feel the same once actuation is set up, but when I went from a Blackwidow to the original Apex Pro it was instantly noticeable just counterstrafing bots even with actuation still at 1.5 and no rapid trigger on yet. Switched to a Wooting 60 and an 80 after and the feel is fundamentally the same as the Apex Pro, but all are infinitely better than your standard mechanical keyboard

I very much like the Hall Effect one I got from SS. Apex pro I think? Can't remember but it was 'spensive. Adjustable actuation distance on the keys is great.

The chatter on my k70 pro mk2 (5 of them due to replacements) sent me to razer. Loved the black widow pro v3 until... it broke. Cheaply made. Now I have had a steelseries apex pro Hall effect for two years... and no trouble at all with it.

LCD and OLED screens on keyboards are dumb and useless depending on your positioning. Had a SteelSeries keyboard with an OLED screen to which I never used for the 7 years I used it.

Pc tower itself, probably around 2K as a very lowball. I would say 1200, but inflation and tariffs (if you’re American) have raised prices along with low availability on parts. THAT is for building a pc. Prebuilt I’d say around 1500-2.3k. The minimum size monitors would be 27 inch Monitors. Those are around 150 (MSI) - to 500 (Samsung like mine). Both can do 4k, both can do 200+ fps My keyboard is a Steelseries apex pro, it was 200 at the time. My mouse was around like 40 or 50 bucks, a g5 hero with customizable weights and a couple extra buttons and a dpi button. You can get both a keyboard and mouse for under 200 if you’re on a budget. And there’s half keyboards that fps players use that are cheaper.

I highly recommend giving a hall effect keyboard a go. I got one of the steel series ones, and I'm never going back to mechanical.

What the poster above implied is that stock of course contactless are the smoothest. When you lubricate a good mechanical switch, however... I beg to differ. I've laid hands and used Wooting HE keebs and Steelseries Apex Pro and I still feel my lubed Marshmallows are smoother (and sound several degrees of magnitude better). Thomas has great reviews and a soothing voice but can be mildly infuriating with some opinions. However, they're his opinions and he's entitled to them and he's mostly correct :)

Bro you don't know what you are talking about. Wootings keyboard or the steel series apex Pro is a game changer and a completely different experience than standard mechanical keyboards with the classic red or brown switches. If you are a serious cs player you absolutely should consider buying such a keyboard instead of the other trash gaming keyboards that exist.

Steel Series apex Pro. Amazing switches and the same technology as the wooting keyboards. Any other mechanical keyboards suck in comparison. I used cherry reds before for over 10 years.
