I have experienced far too many custom keyboards so my only bias take is the Rainy75 is too generic and foam dependant. Well I can't blame the board, since it's only 100$, I cannot expect a full Aluminum keyboard to have enthusiast-level of customization/design and sound profile lol. I will just list the thing I like and dislike overrall: \- QMK/VIA support which means very good keymapping capability and no need to install extra software/drivers \- Good sound with foam (which is already pre-installed) \- Good build quality, good dark color anodization. Their bright color coating is also fine. \- Good stock switches, acceptable stock keycaps. \- 3 modes variant needs some extra work because the wired-wireless switch is under the capslock key lol \- generic 2 pieces design \- Screws are inside, not outside. Without care you can scratch the top casing while screwing in and out the board. The manafacturer has a 1.6mm PCB and no flex cut version. If you can find this version then I recommend this stronger than the normal 1.2mm PCB + flex cuts version because having 1.6mm PCB and no flex cuts provides better sound.
r/keyboards • Need 75% Keyboard recommendations ->As someone who got swindled by them back in the day, I feel ya. The board is a POS. I havent had the pleasure of trying the HE board but there are so many good alternatives, esp for traditional mechanical. I like HE but theres so much better stuff for mechanical if you are not a pro. Some of my favorites: \- AULA f75 - Yes its plastic, but it does have a knob, sounds like a dream and is comfortable to type on. I love mine at home \- EVO 80 For the price point it cannot be beat, 169 and you get leafspring mount, incredible stock switches and free decent keycaps. \- Rainy 75, 89 dollars for the board that remains my daily driver. Same thing as evo 80 except with a gasket mount. And for HE, if you are going to get a board, get the wooting module and throw it into a case from KBD fans. It will take a little longer to get there, but the experience will be way better. I have mine in a holy 80 case, and it's an actual dream. It might even be cheaper. But I understand if you want to keep that board because you have sunk so much money into it. I found that force break mod, tempest tape mod, and putting polyester stuffing in the bottom helped the sound of my old GMMK pro significantly. Hope this helps!
r/MechanicalKeyboards • disappointed - Glorious GMMK 3 Pro ->My current favorite is the Rainy 75.
r/buildapc • What are you go to Keyboards? ->I was using a Keychron over bluetooth and recently I started having issues connecting reliably, so I decided to look for something else. Not sure if it was dying, but I decided I'd had enough of it. I chose to grab a Rainy 75. The usb dongle and bluetooth connections have both been rock-sold for me. It doesn't exactly fit the bill with what you're looking for. It has linear switches, and it has RGB, but the keys aren't shine-through although you didn't specify it shine-through was necessary or not. Unfortunately the vast majority of modern, quality 75% boards come with linear switches, but many of the boards have hot-swappable switches, which is great for customization. To that point, I noticed the Womier RD75(which is extremely similar to the Rainy 75) has a pretty sizeable discount on their site right now. That discount would easily give you plenty of room to order a set of which ever switches you'd like and still come in under $300 CAD. Of course, I haven't tried that board myself but I think the reviews were pretty positive and even better than the Rainy 75 for customization. Anyway, hope that helps.
r/linux_gaming • Wireless Mechanical Keyboards ->Rainy75, standard or pro version. I have the standard version.
r/pcmasterrace • Can someone please recommend a decent gaming keyboard with trust worthy software that won't break the bank please ? ->I'd recommend 75% keebs like Rainy 75 (aluminium body) with VIA support. Aula/Epomaker is not great stuff as they come with proprietary software, but acceptable. At least F75 have gasket mount and 5 pin sockets for switches and normal foam layers. If you need rapid trigger for games - take a look at keyboards with magnetic (HE - Hall effect) keyboards. Dunno much about what to choose between HE keebs :) Most of them are configured by own software directly in browser as I know.
r/keyboards • Should I replace key caps or buy new keyboard? ->If you can go up a bit with the budget ($135) I highly recommend Rainy75. Probably the best prebuilt keyboard under $500.
r/PcBuildHelp • Are expensive keyboards even necessary ->I bought a Rainy 75 for roughly that price around 6 months ago and absolutely love it
r/keyboards • help with looking for new keyboard ->The noise and feel is great! exactly as advertised, no complaints
r/keyboards • help with looking for new keyboard ->Rainy75 pro all day
r/keyboards • What starter keyboard would you recommend? ->Hey! I'm a huge mechanical keyboard girlie, so I love questions like this! With the caveat that I can't really comment on how well any of these keyboards work wirelessly for gaming, here are some thoughts. Personally I recommend these—they're all hot swappable aluminum 75% or TKLs with no obvious branding and white and/or cream options, and one (Zoom75) can have a knob depending on which one you order. 1. [**Evoworks Evo80**](https://divinikey.com/products/evoworks-evo80-keyboard?variant=41718476013633): this is my personal daily driver keyboard. I have the version with the oat switches and the sound and typing feel are to DIE for (sound test comparing the two switches [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7hkH0mAX3w) for reference). I will say not all the colorways are my favorite—I like the cream one a lot but YMMV. It's incredibly easy to take apart and mod—you literally just press down on it and the top case pops off, you can play with the configuration without a screwdriver! I'm not sure where Evoworks is based, but they're definitely not a budget company—and they have great and responsive customer service. 2. **Meletrix Zoom75**: With the caveat that I think it's overpriced—especially since you'll have to buy your own keycaps and switches and put it together yourself—it's undeniably a solid option. If you don't know what kind of switches you like, WS Morandis are a general crowd-pleaser, and I once again adore the [Keygeek oats](https://divinikey.com/collections/switches/products/keygeek-oat-linear-switches) (from the Evo80, just sold separately). Still, there there are much better and cheaper pre-built options on the market. Meletrix is not a budget company, might be based in China. 3. [**Wobkey Rainy75 Pro (with a BIG caveat)**](https://www.amazon.com/KEEBMONKEY-Mechanical-Acoustics-Connectivity-Pro/dp/B0D87CW7TS/?th=1): The Rainy75 kinda blew the Zoom75 out of the water in terms of affordable-ish keyboards. It's very well and widely reviewed, decently fun to type on, the RGB is nice and vibrant, it sounds great. THAT BEING SAID, Wobkey as a company has horrible customer service and a bad returns policy, so while the Rainy75 is generally considered to have pretty good QC, I would HIGHLY recommend not buying it from them directly and using Amazon or another third party vendor. Wobkey is based in China iirc. As for your questions about brands: * Leopold: I don't know much about them but cursory googling suggests they're a solid brand. * Ducky: I have no idea what their reputation is. * Zoom75: See my above recommendation. * Keychron: Solid, solid keyboard brand. Very newbie friendly. I will say there's a ton of options and some of them are overpriced for what they are * HHKB: Can't speak to them personally. * Nuphy: I thiiiink they're Chinese, but a pretty solid brand from what I hear. * Tofu: Part of kbdfans, not sure where they're based. The overall opinion on them seems pretty meh. * Keydous: I've literally never heard of them before.
