I believe you are buying into fake information on TMR. It is more precise. A Wpoting HE can go down to .3mm actuation And budget TMR keyboards can go down to .1mm. There are budget TMR 8k polling keyboards and I have seen tests of their latency and they are under a millisecond on wired and wireless. Not sure where your so formation is coming from, but there is so much negativity from HE fans because they don't want something to be better than their Wpoting. For me, the mixing of magnetic and mech switches is the real selling point and Wpoting fanbois say it's stupid.
+1 for Wooting. I have the 80% for home where I mostly game, but had to buy a full Wooting for work because it feels so nice to type on.
I've been hunting through subreddits for gaming keyboard recommendations for a few days now and I'm not finding ones that match my needs. Everyone seems to be obsessed with miniature and minimalist keyboards, but I absolutely hate those. I need a full size keyboard with a full number pad and preferably some macro keys. I've had a Corsair K95 with MX Brown switches for around 10 years, I love it but it's starting to break down on me and I really want something more modern. The K100 is too expensive.. I've seen Keychron recommended a lot but I personally find them to be really ugly. I see Reddragon a lot too, but some of their other products I've used felt cheaply built in the past. I'm currently eyeing the Wooting Two HE, it's at the top of my budget but I like how it looks and it has the keypad. I'm willing to sacrifice the macro keys but I'm worried that the (seemingly) insanely impressive performance might be counterintuitive for me. I'm a gamer who works from home so I'm on my computer 10-16 hours a day, but I don't play competitive games at all. Does the performance of Wooting keyboards end up being too quirky for users who don't game competitively, and if so, is there a better option out there for someone like me?
So I bought the Wooting Two HE, and I'm instantly feeling like I don't like it. The keys are really heavy and mushy, and not tactile at all. It could be something that I'll get used to over time but the heaviness of the keys worries me. They take significantly more force to press than my Corsair keyboard and I already suffer from finger strain especially in my pinky fingers. I'll give it a week or two to see if it grows on me but the lack of tactile-ness is giving me the bad brain feelings. Also the wrist rest accessory not only functionally useless it's uncomfortable too.
Keychron might be your only option. Since HE is typically marketed for gaming and companies don't really make 100% gaming keyboards. If you don't mind wired wooting two seems good.
Those might be your only options. Unless you're open to a num/macropad paired with a tkl or something
Of the wooting? They have a full size keyboard on there website it’s called the wooting two he.
Between the two I’d get the wooting which is a Hall effect keyboard. But there’s a lot of better quality Hall effect keyboards you can get for the price if not cheaper. They’re definitely available in Canada they have a few on Amazon.
Yea I’d definitely get a Hall effect keyboard I use one for cs2 and it gives an advantage when it comes to movement. Everglide su75 pro, Irok mg75 pro/max, chilkey slice 75, monsgeek m1 v5 tmr, mchose jet 75, IPI Aurora 75, ATK Hex 80, Iquinix ez80, and Akko Tac75 HE. These are all good tmr (which is similar to Hall effect but newer tech and some people consider it better) or hall effect keyboards at different prices. You can find videos on youtube about each and do your own research from there, I suggest migss on youtube he does some pretty in depth reviews on keyboards. I’m not 100 percent sure if they all ship to Canada but I would imagine most do. Also stay away from big brands like Razer, Corsair, Logitech etc. They aren’t necessarily bad but the build quality isn’t too good for what you pay for them.
Hey mate, there really isn't a best stock switch or modified switch, it's all personal preference I may like heavy scratchy switches and you may like light buttery smooth switches, so my best is your worst stock switch you know. If you just want a pure "gaming" performance KB I guess this one from wooting would be OK: https://wooting.io/wooting-two-he This is just my 2c, pretty much all kbs are going to be 1k polling which is more than good enough. In my experience gaming on a wooting did not really bring any real noticeable difference from playing on one of my custom KBs rocking standard mx blacks or any other standard cherry styled switch. You're going to be a bit limited on choice with a full-size, but if you go for a TKL or 75%, you're going to get more choices at the cost of the numpad.
