Hey all, Longtime lurker here—been quietly reading posts on this sub for years, but I randomly felt compelled to write this after a bit of a personal breakthrough in-game. Maybe it'll help someone else who's been stuck in the same cycle I was. I’ve been playing Counter-Strike since 2001 (yes, I’m old), and over the years I’ve used more mice than I can count—definitely a bit of a mouse whore. My hands are fairly large (19.5 x 11 cm), but for some reason, I’ve always gravitated toward smaller mice. Let’s rewind for a second… My earliest memories were with that classic white Logitech Optical Mouse—didn’t take gaming too seriously back then, but I remember it being on the smaller side, and I guess that stuck. When I started getting more serious, I switched to the Microsoft Intellimouse 3.0 and that was honestly my golden era. My aim felt crisp, clutch plays were regular, and I never thought much about the mouse—it just worked. After that, I fell back into the small mouse rabbit hole: SteelSeries Kinzu, Razer Diamondback, etc. I still held my own, but I noticed something: I sucked with the AWP. I just accepted it—"Guess I’m not an AWPer." Eventually landed on the EC2-A for a long stretch. Never quite regained that 1.6-era magic, but I chalked it up to aging, life, priorities shifting… all that stuff. I kept going with small mice anyway—FK2, MM710, MM720 (honestly loved that one for pure comfort), and most recently the MM712. From 2017 to now, I’ve been on and off with CS. I’ll grind for a few months, then disappear for a while. Recently jumped back in and found my MM712’s sensor acting up. I had a few backups lying around, including an old Glorious Model D wired—a mouse I never gave much time because it was big, and hey, I’m a “small mouse guy,” right? Wrong. I booted it up, played a few DMs, and… damn. My aim felt locked in. Tapping was on point. I had way more control than I ever did with smaller mice. That “floating” feeling from smaller shapes? Gone. Micro-adjustments that used to mess up my spray? Gone. This thing just plants itself in my hand like a brick, and suddenly I’m palm gripping again like it’s 2005. Even the AWP, which I’ve always struggled with, started clicking—literally. Shots are connecting more than ever. For years I told myself, “I’m just not an AWPer,” but maybe I just never had the right tool in my hand. It made me realize: I’ve been prioritizing what feels comfortable over what actually performs best for me. The EC2 probably should’ve been an EC1. Who knows, maybe I’d be lifting a trophy at Katowice by now /s. I’ve had my eye on the Vaxee E1, but it’s more in line with the EC2 size—and now I’m thinking I’ve been going too small for too long. Might be time to go full circle and pick up the EC1-DW instead. I’m finally starting to understand that bigger might just be better… at least for my hands and how I play. Has anyone else experienced this? TL;DR: Big-hand guy who loved small mice realized he was nerfing his own aim for years. Turns out comfort doesn’t always equal performance. RIP to all that lost ELO.

In that price range(50-60) idk if there’s any brand that has the shape and size you want maybe cooler master mm710 wired but pulsar has x2h mini slightly shorter on length also front with a lil bigger hump or u can go with normal version which has 12cm(op1we is 11.8) length but same front height as your op1we but bigger hump noticeable compared to op1we and for your handsize I suggest sticking to mice that are smaller than 12cm in order for your finger to reach the end, nearly all the girls i know use that cooler master cuz it’s properly small 710 is wired and 712 is wireless for under 50

So there are some mice that are basically MADE for budget. G305 and wired versions of razer mice. But also there are other brands like Coolermaster with the mm710-711 series that’s just amazing and so light

It’s not a bad rec, I’ve got the same hands as op but his grip is more “aggressive” claw based on the ring and pinky. I have both the xm2 and mm710 (wired cheaper version of 712), I like the xm2 better, and I would’ve recommended it to OP but he says he doesn’t like it, I think my ring and pinky don’t curl as much as his and go to the front. With my relaxed claw the mm712 was small but if the xm2 was too long and u don’t get palm contact I think he might like it…or at least try out the mm710 just for the shape (wired, worst sensor and clicks but I got mine for 25 bucks so it was worth a test). Just know while the mm712 is popular, cooler master is done making peripherals so you won’t ever get an updated version.

You can get a mechanical keyboard + a gaming mouse for a 100 USD easy. Something like a Logitech G Pro TKL + a CoolerMaster MM710 mouse would be infinitely better than playing on a laptop keyboard + some shitty mouse that spins half the time you move it.

If you are playing competitive games. Then Yes. If not , then no. If you are playing competitive games, you are okay with wired mice , get the cooler master mm710(absolute best mouse under 2k , can get in elitehubs website , yea it's a trustable website), I would suggest saving up 3k for a VXE R1 , it's wireless with top of the line sensor and it's lightweight.

I have probably bought~40-50 mice in my day with very few of them being repeat purchases. The only mouse I could use with my fingertip grip style and enjoy was the Coolermaster MM710 before I tried fingertip mice. Now after all of those purchases I have found almost true love with the HSK (the regular one) and can see myself potentially buying more fingertip mice in the future, but almost never a regular mouse. Definitely not a gimmick but not certainly a game changer.

No point going with the R1 if youre going to go wired. It's a solid budget wireless mouse but if you have no intention of going wireless then you're just overpaying for a poor performing wired experience. If you want the best possible performance you can go with the DAV3 or OP18k, both are within budget, I'd recommend the OP1 as the best of the two purely because the DAV3 has a worse cable but both are good enough. However I'm gonna assume you don't have the latest and greatest PC with the fastest CPU ever so it might not be worth getting a high polling rate mouse at all. Higher polling rates cause dropped frames on most systems and even if you only drop a few frames, that still mathematically completely negates any advantage from using the high polling rate in the first place. It's probably worth considering some older models like you mention in the title. You've got 5 or 6 years of 3360/3366/3389 releases and all of those will perform admirably. Just from a quick look you can get something like the G-Wolves SK-S or Cooler Master MM710 for as little as $25. As a random aside I think the Ninjutso Origin One X is an IntelliMouse clone, so if you loved the shape of your old mouse and just want something that works and is slightly more modern, that could be a solid bet. I usually would say avoid the 3335 sensor, but if you find one for a good price and love the shape, it could still be worth considering. Overall I'd say make sure to do your own research as I find people on this sub tend to recommend the flavour of the month mouse far too often, even for use cases that don't suit it. Regardless I hope you find something you enjoy!
