Based on 1 year's data from Feb 24, 2026 How it works
If you like the ergonomics and extra buttons the g502 is good, I used the Lightspeed myself for a long time, dont know if the new g502 X /X lightspeed/X plus is good. But don't get the Corsair Darkstar, it's a great mouse, when it works, I've had nothing but problems. But I really need the buttons
I have to deal with Razer shitty products, because 99% of gaming mice are made for literal gnomes and there isn't any bigger mmo mouse for my bear paws. Except maybe Darkstar from Corsair, which is even more expensive than naga...
Any hyperspeed option from razer, these mice are all close to 100g with the double A battery in them and they're all very decent. Maybe a redragon m913 which is a BIG mmo mouse but VERY heavy with all weights in it. Over 150g. Corsair darkstar is a almost neutral shape with 98g, probably the highest quality mouse on this list.
I love my corsair darkstar. It's my favourite MMO mouse I've tried.
Corsair Darkstar. 6 side buttons. 2 isn't quite enough and nobody seems to make a mouse with 4. Had two G502s before this.
I ended up getting the newer model and i love it
I had a Logitech G604 for years. It was a damn fine mouse, but one day it gave up the ghost. It reached the natural end of its life. I had used it for many years. I replaced it with a Cosair Darkstar, which proved to be an absolute disappointment between the inferior battery life and the fact that the mouse wheel stopped functioning properly after a few months. I couldn't properly change my zoom distance, and it would zoom in when I tried to zoom out (this was a well-documented issue with the mouse). I've since replaced it with a Keychron M6 wireless. The M6 is interesting. I wanted a mouse with thumb buttons similar to the G604 and the M6 although it only has the conventional two thumb buttons, it offers a thumb scroll wheel, which I was able to reprogram so I can use it in game for my longer CDs (it requires deliberate movement as it offers precise incremental scrolling).
Consider the Corsair Darkstar, less side buttons but I preferred the ergonomics (especially having a place for my thumb) and I really liked having the additional two buttons on the left side of the left mouse button like on the G502. In my experience, however, my Darkstar scrollwheel started skipping or suddenly scrolling in the opposite direction for a split second which got really annoying. It's possible I got a bad unit but I read online that a lot of people had the same issue. It's a shame because the mouse was otherwise perfect. Other mice with more than 2 side buttons include the Razer Basilisk V3, Logitech G502 X, Glorious Model I, and Asus ROG Spatha X. You really don't need 12 buttons, even in top tier air.
The grid style buttons take a bit to get used to. I never could. I ended up using asymmetric layouts with an empty spot for the thumb to grip. Originally a Corsair M90 and currently Corsair Darkstar.
You'll have to try and see if you like it. The side buttons can be quite annoying depending on your grip. I can't use those grid styles ones because I can't grip it without accidentally pressing a button. I've tried the circular button arrangement of the older Naga Trinity, but I didn't like the shape so much. I much prefer the Corsair Darkstar which is my current main MMO mouse.
Honestly, just get a second mouse. For the longest time, my only mouse was the Corsair Darkstar and I've been looking for what you are currently. Recently I decided screw it and got a mchose L7 for my non-MMO games/general work. It's been a really nice change.
I've had my Darkstar for about 4 years. I previously had a very old Corsair M90 and it had the best shape and side button placement for me. I would say the overall package is *tolerable*. iCue is mid but hasn't done anything terrible to me. The battery life was initially terrible (3-4 days) but became better (about a week); not sure if it was a result of better firmware or because [Corsair stopped faking the 2000hz polling rate](https://www.reddit.com/r/Corsair/s/f5KxW2Zehl). The construction is creaky but so far has held up well (aka the creaks are the same as 4 years ago). Not had any problems with button clicks or scroll wheel. The only practical problem is it occasionally doesn't wake up from sleep and I need to flick the on/off switch. It's heavy and I certainly wouldn't recommend it for anything fast paced. It's probably EOL; I've noticed it running out of stock quite often. It's a love hate relationship, but if I see one at a good price, I'll certainly snap it up as a backup. I've recently started using it just for MMOs and got a mchose L7 for everything else.
Do NOT get corsair mice, their software is literal bloat and trash, because i used to own one and i sold it almost the same day because of software issues. Only okay ish options are the razer, RD and solokaka
Corsair Darkstar, Logitech G502, Logitech G502 X, Asus ROG Spatha X
I never used the G604, but I wish I had and I’m sorry for your loss. 🫡 I have big hands and this Christmas I tried these mice: Corsair Darkstar (see below) Corsair Ironclaw: near perfect ergonomics, but I wanted more buttons. Does NOT have wheel tilt. Asus ROG Spatha X: too heavy. I would have kept it if not for the weight. I didn’t realize how much I actually pick up my mouse until trying this one. Does NOT have wheel tilt (edited). Logitech G502 and G502 X: not enough buttons, but also deceptively narrow. The width measurement is for the flared base, because the grip width was painfully narrow. Has wheel tilt. Turtle Beach Kone XP: I think the mouse would have been great if not for the horrendous, glitch infested Swarm II configuration software. Has wheel tilt. I settled on the Darkstar. It has lots of side buttons, wheel tilt, and even literal mouse tilt inputs (not sure how to use that in practice, but it’s a feature). There’s people that say iCUE is garbage and for that reason don’t recommend this mouse. I’ll admit it does take some getting used to and things aren’t exactly intuitive, but despite the unintuitive UX, it’s not actually glitchy and does exactly what it’s supposed to. The binds are flawless, the RGB and profiles change on the games I set them to. I have a non-standard desk setup where I have a USB switch that changes from my work machine to my gaming machine, and I have RGB to tell me which is active, and it flawlessly switches between the iCUE profile on my work machine and the profile on my gaming machine. I also really like that despite having a similar button pattern to the Spatha X (which I had a problem with accidental clicks when gripping to lift and move), the Darkstar has a rubberized texture grip pad in the middle of the side buttons so no accidental clicks and gripping it is easy and natural.
The Darkstar should fit you better than it does me. It's comfortable for me, but not as much as if it were as big in the backend as the Ironclaw.
