"With the Naga I map the center button on the bottom row to shift. ... And with that I can roll my thumb up, left, or right and get another three keybinds. ... And just having shift there also lets me press that for shift, instead of my left pinky. One less thing for my left hand to do. Makes Shift+4 while moving and jumping easier. ... This gives me ready, instant access to the entire hotbar. And with shift, an entire second hotbar (excepting shift+7 and shift+9)."
"Macros will let that be enough to play even a druid in all forms with every spell being useable. ... And this is without stopping movement to reach and without any annoying left pinky stretch ever being required."
"Only the Naga let's me assign shift to one of the middle row buttons, then easily roll my thumb left and right to get shift4 or shift6 from just my thumb."

"Saving the profile to the mouse memory fixes this. ... Then you can use it in any computer and it just works. ... I don’t even run the icue software anymore. ... You still initially save it through icue, but you use one of the 3 hardware spots on the actual mouse. ... Iv’e gifted 3 of these to friends who play with me, I opened each mouse and saved a profile so they wouldn’t have to mess with it. Plug them in and it’s ready to go."
"Works fine tbh ... Once you get it setup, you're pretty much good."

"My scimitar would randomly "unplug/replug" itself (Windows USB sound would play) ... and then it would forget all custom keybinds until I rebooted...often in the middle of a key. ... I chucked it out the window after a year of pain"
"iCue constantly explodes, requiring a reinstall to fix ... the settings you put on the headset REQUIRE iCue to reapply every time the headset connects. ... I have reinstalled iCue a number of times to try to make it work and its straight up ass IMO."
"Icue is so shit. ... But god forbid trying to reset up your bindings or trying to save them sometimes. ... So unintuitive. ... The worse ui I've used out of all the mice I've had over the last 20 years. ... Having to do macros for everything was stupid. ... I could never get the onboarding memory to work right either."

"had it twice, both times broke in under 6 months, don't want to ever buy it again"
"mine ultimately failed because of the common issue that happens due to the plastic they use for the top housing being softer than the switches they use on the left / right click so as you continue to use it eventually the switch indents the plastic and it stops actuating."
"it broke within 6 months."

"I use the software to configure the side buttons and it won't save the profile. ... I think I eventually got it to save a profile but if I closed the software, everything would reset to default. ... So I'd have to reconfigure the buttons every time I turn on my computer. ... I googled this and it's a common issue people have with the Corsair software."
"And the iCue software is a mess. ... Mutiple times it broke completely and I could only fix it by doing a complete reinstall. ... While that seems fixed, now it just refuses to launch on startup."
"Corsairs MMO mouse sucked ass. ... Kept having weird software problems."
Currently naga V2 hyperspeed, i do use a lot of map grip too. I really like it, good shape, extra easy to change battery, if you get a small 2 slot battery charger and 2 rechargable batteries you are, virtually, always ready. It has 2.4 receiver or bluetooth. 12 buttons on the side that are default mapped as: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 - = I have no complain, aside that i would have liked it to have "mouse button1" instead of a button that already exist on the keyboard. Please avoid the Corsair Scimitar normal or Elite, they have a know flaw related to the scroll wheel, it brakes so easily ending up clicking but not rolling. I have 3 of them in my electronic graveyard drawer.
Corsair Scimitar PRO RGB, thank me later. [SCIMITAR PRO RGB Optical MOBA/MMO Gaming Mouse — Black](https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/gaming-mouse/ch-9304311-na/scimitar-pro-rgb-optical-moba-mmo-gaming-mouse-a-black-ch-9304311-na)
I use a scimitar where i have some mix feelings about. I like the design and fact u can adjust where your thumb rests on the 12 buttons. But the coating is subpar imo. The rubber gets very grimy over time where it think a more solid plastic shell would've been nicer. Have also looked around for replacement shells/keys but can't find any. Still kinda baffled there haven't been any sleek new mmo mice designs with a 12 side button layout aside from the razer mice
Corsair Scimitar pro, I was so impressed when I upgraded to this one that I bought an extra one.
I use Corsair Scimitar pro and I'm loving it! Got bigger hands so really appreciate movable 12 button side panel.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm preparing to replace mine too as the scroll wheel issue is starting to show it's ugly head. Definitely will be going with the same mouse though - it's perfect for me!
I love this mouse, seriously way more comfortable in my hand than any other MMO mouse I've used. I've went through two of them though, because the mouse wheel scroll eventually starts to degrade. You'll be scrolling through a web page and it will jitter up and down several notches as you scroll. Its bearable at first and just gets worse until its unusable. I've taken them apart to try cleaning the wheel, oiling it, all the stuff I found online but the ultimate fix is always replacement. After burning through two of them, I'm over it lol. Otherwise, they were excellent and comfortable mice.
I had been given a Steel Series Sensei as a present when GW2 came out and I actually played ele with it for the first few years. Hard to imagine now! I knew I needed one of these mythical mmo mice but the price was insane. £100 for a MOUSE? I nearly fainted when I found out what my brother paid for the SteelSeries and that was just 'normal'. When my second Sensei was on its last legs, (I had replaced the first with the SteelSeries Guild Wars 2 tie in version) I got one of the cheap Redragon ones and it was a game changer, as you've learned. Way too heavy for me, ultimately, but it did persuade me to bite the bullet on a proper one. I went with the Corsair Scimitar, because of the movable keypad as I have very small girl hands. Yes, the software has been quite a pain over the years, I used to regularly have to unplug and replug the damn thing because it wouldn't be recognised on startup, but I realise I've not had any iCue issues in a very long time now. (Touch wood.) I guess when things work they become invisible. I honestly think at this point I'd have to give up the game if I couldn't get another Scimitar.
As a very small woman with very small hands, I also recommend the Corsair Scimitar Pro. That movable side panel is awesome and the reason I won't be changing brand. It genuinely suits everyone, ergonomically. I've not had any scroll wheel issues, but I am a bit of a button masher and my 1 button takes quite a bit of punishment, along with the LMB, so I have had to replace my Scimitar (with another) in the past, but I really consider that a user issue.
I have a Corsair scimitar, wired. Had to replace the wire 1 time, and the wheel recently started to break down, the mouse is 9 years old, which is insane because I alwayes used steel series rivals and they were breaking down after a year or two
Well Corsair released the wireless Scimitar about a year ago.
Your demand shall be satisfied. The theme of my collection is twelve side buttons and only one mouse per brand. Corsair Scimitar - the flashy Lambo: I bought it as „refurbished“ in 2017. As a car guy I love the design. I have rather large hands and it fits me perfectly. 17 buttons total. The sidebuttons are adjustable in position. It has five different RGB zones. The cable is pretty stiff (they released a wireless version about a year ago). The scroll wheel is the second worst of them all. The scroll is inconsistent and rattly but other models of Corsair mice have this problem as well. The rubber coating got disgusting after a while so I sanded it down. I had to replace the middle mouse switch a while back. Other that it has been great and my daily driver at home. Razer Naga V2 Hyperspeed - the best overall: My daily driver at work. 19 buttons total. It has a great scroll wheel with consistent, noticeable clicks, freewheeling, side scrolling. It runs on AA-battery which I really like and has a dongle storage space. The build quality is good and it has no coating which makes it easy to clean. I also like the two extra buttons on the left. At home I find the button and scroll wheel are a bit too loud but at work it’s fine. It also works via bluetooth, without the software including all buttons (except self recorded macros and delete key for some reason). Roccat Nyth - the stealth fighter: It has been discontinued for like 5 years and is really hard to get. 18 buttons total. It looks great. I just recently got it and it might tie the Corsair in looks and ergonomics. You can change the buttons and button layout: fewer buttons, different layouts, different shapes. You can also change the right finger rest which really changes the looks and feel. I have the wide one installed. It also has a rubber coating which is hard to clean. I opened it once and the build quality is really good and it’s over engineered, which I love. It even has a switch for easy ejection of the side buttons. The buttons have a good feel and are easily distinguishable because they are staggered like on a staircase. It has no side scrolling and fewer buttons overall though. In place of side scrolling it has a “shark fin” which you can flick left or right. For that you have to lift your fingers from the main buttons though. The grey stealthy look with the tasteful RGB and the modularity are the highlights. Logitech G600 - the tank: 20 buttons total. Discontinued, hard to get for less then 80€. I luckily got mine for about 30 in mint condition. Heaviest of them all: 131g. It feels planted and dense. Great ergonomics. Third button next to the right click. It has side scrolling and the wheel is almost silent. The build quality is good but it’s also rubber coated which still feels great though. I‘m trying two swap it for a white one. Steel Series Aerox 9 - the lightweight convertible: It’s the lightest with about 93g. 18 buttons total. It has two design flaws: The mouse skates aren’t spread out wide enough so it tends to tip to one side (I fixed it with additional skates). It’s open which makes it hard to clean but thats also it’s whole thing. The sidebuttons are to hard to press. It’s wireless and has bluetooth which is great. I like the silent scroll wheel. Redragon M990 - all the buttons: It has 16!! sidebuttons and 4 behind the scroll wheel. 24 buttons total. Those last two behind the wheel kinda get in the way. The RGB is tacky. Ergonomics and the scroll wheel are decent. MadCatz MMOTE - the crazy one: Well it’s eccentric. 19 buttons total. You can adjust the palm rest which is cool. It’s red and has some tacky decals. With my hans it tends to tip to the back. Worst ergonomics of them all. Worst build quality. No RGB. And the scroll wheel doesn’t work which seems to be a theme among used ones. HAVIT HV-MS735 - nothing special: 19 buttons total. It’s pretty long which fits my hands well but the pinky and ring finger have no real place to go and end up squished together. The buttons are ok, the scroll wheel is ok. I‘m missing the Titanwolf System, Rytaki R6 and the Turtlebeach Grip Arena. The last two I‘ll probably never optain because they are super rare.
Over all I would recommend the Razer Naga V2 Hyperspeed; not flashy, interchangeable AA battery, wireless, dongle storage, sidescrolling, more buttons, good mouse wheel, free wheeling. I use it as a daily at work. I had the Corsair Scimitar since 2017. I really love it but the rubber coating got disgusting and it’s wired (they released a wireless version a year ago). You can’t really get the Roccat Nyth anymore. The Logitech G600 you could get but it’s also discontinued. The MadCatz is discontinued as well and the ergonomics are bad. The Redragon M990 actually has too many buttons lol. The Steel Series Aerox 9 is really light but tends to tip. You can‘t get the Havit.
My little collection: One mouse of every brand, with at least twelve side buttons. I have the og Corsair Scimitar with the yellow accent (12 sidebuttons, 17 total), the Steelseries Aerox 9 (12 side, 16 total), Razer Naga V2 wireless (12 side, 19 total), Redragon M990 (16 side, 24 total). Now I'm only missing the Logitech G600. But I can't find a white one. The most usable overall has to be the Razer Naga V2 wireless: I use it at work, the lack of coating make it great for a quick wipedown when I have greasy hands. It’s also the most professional looking (also has no RGB). It works with AA batteries, has storage for for the USB-dongle, freewheeling and it works without Razers Software even in bluetooth mode (except recorded macros). It also has the second most buttons. The ergonomics and design are not quite up there and the buttons are a bit loud. At home I use the og Corsair Scimitar with the yellow accent piece. It’s wired, the cable is to stiff and I had to partially remove the rubber coating because it got gooey. It was my first and I got it in 2017 and only had to replace the middle mouse switch. The mouse scroll click feel is weirdly inconsistent (a problem other Corsair mice have too). BUT I love the ergonomics and the design!!! The side buttons are adjustable the curves fit my hand perfectly. It also has 4 (5?) RGB zones. It’s kind of my favourite. The Redragon M990 is huge, has 4 buttons behind the scroll wheel and 16 side buttons! I just love how ridiculous it is but the software isn’t great. The Steelseries Aerox 9 is the lightest of the bunch. It has the fewest buttons but is super lightweight for it’s functionality. The sidebuttons are to hard to press and the USB-C dongle is way to big. The glide pads are not spread out wide enough so it tends to tip to one side; I had to add glide pads at the very edge on both sides. Now it’s great. The open design is bound to get dirt inside. But it looks cool. The last one I‘m missing is a (preferably white) Logitech G600. If anyone knows where to get one; hmu. For anyone wondering what I do with all those buttons: You can see the key bindings in the last few screenshots. …thanks for enjoying my weird little collection :)
Yes I have large hands and the Scimitar is perfect for me!
Naga v2 hyper speed works great for me. Super comfy. Came from a scimitar wired that would double click after a lot of usage. I tried going back to the scimitar when they had a wireless one but the comfortability for palm grip was terrible compared to the naga. Need more brands and models for MMO mice for sure but I’m really happy with my Naga v2 hyper speed
