I went through different mice last year - DAV3, Pulsar Zywoo, NG-01 Ergo, Viper, OP1 4k v2, and then S2-D2 and EC3-DW. I will never leave the EC shape ever now
Unfortunately, I was sucked into this hobby in 2016 (don't mind date, old account got shadowbanned) and I've essentially tried a variety of mice. My hands are like 19x9, and I play with a relaxed claw that goes into an aggressive claw when I'm putting more tension on the mouse. From oldest to newest: Logitech G303 (the original) Logitech G Pro (wired G102/G305) Razer Deathadder Chroma Zowie-EC1A Zowie-FK2 Endgame Gear XM1 G303 Shroud Edition Logitech G Pro Superlight Razer Viper (Wired) Ninjutso Katana Ultralight Razer Deathadder V3 Pro Waizowl Cloud VXE R1 Pro ATK X1 Ultimate Endgame Gear XM2w 4k Razer Deathadder V4 Pro ATK Zero Even now, I'm still trying to find the mouse that works for me. The only ones that I felt that really worked out are the G303/G303 SE, the XM1/XM2 and the R1 Pro/Zero. Though I have some slight problems with each of them. The G303/G303SE have become too heavy for me after getting used to all these lightweight mice (and I accidentally tore a ribbon cable of the G303 SE while replacing the battery for the weight mod), but aside from that I've been secretly hoping for the day a G303 clone arrives with updated specs and less weight. I feel that the XM1/XM2 just needs to downsize a little and it would be perfect, and the R1/Zero are fine, but they're just missing the locked in feeling the G303 and the XM1 gives me. Any recommendations that fit in well? Budget is unlimited, and the games I play vary from CS2 to Apex Legends to TF2 and Deadlock. I'm fine with the weight being up to 60 grams. EDIT: Ended up picking up the OP1w 4k V2 and man the back hump makes it far more comfortable compared to the Superlight 2c where it felt like my ring and pinky finger was going to cramp up after a couple of runs in a kovaaks scenario. Keeping it as my main, while repurposing my Waizowl Cloud to be used for non-gaming stuff because of how comfortable it feels in the hand.
Does it NEED to be light (sub 55g)? If not I recommend the OP1W4K v2? Or if you have the budget I recommend the orbitalworks pathfinder. Its so fun and I'm having a blast with it Edit: I just saw that price is no object for you. In that case I would definitely go with the Pathfinder. Because you can change the shape so much and so easily, its damn near impossible to not find a shape that works for you. I would go with low hump, average sides with no spacers to start, then maybe trying the claw sides to see how they feel. I have 18.5 x 9cm hands (not including thumb) and I use low hump, average thumb side, slash pinky side, and 1mm spacer for the sides but not the back. I use claw/finger
The Pathfinder is 55g on the dot at max weight, and lighter in the config I suggested. I really recommend it as someone that's gone through probably like 40-50 mice and was unable to find something perfect. The OP1W4K v2 is my second choice.
Bought an op1w 4k v2 after not really liking the superlight plus it was so loud and such a heavy click. My new mouse is just perfection a little smaller but i claw grip and it works surprisingly well on my large hands. There can’t be a best mouse because each mouse caters to individual needs and use case. I used to use a death adder elite which at the time considered it the best mouse. Usually 2 things are the deciding factor in modern mice shape which is king and weight. Everything else even polling rate is subjective.
Technically yes but for Endgame Gear that would be a literal non-issue for 2 reasons. 1, their Kailh GX switches use SPDT tech, so there's a mode you can activate where it basically requires the switch be activated in a specific way that prevents double clicking, and 2, they literally market you being able to open up the mouse and swap out the switches for new ones by changing the daughterboard with packs they sell online. Makes it customizable. The OP1 series is what allows this. Otherwise if you don't wanna go for an OP1 8Kv2 or OP1W 4Kv2, can also recommend a Superlight 2c for the size (fantastic for ftip which surprised me). WLmouse BeastX series is also fantastic for ftip but the side buttons do sit a bit far forward.
It will depend on your hand size, preferred grip type, and preference of wireless vs wired. eloshapes is a good tool for doing size comparisons. https://www.eloshapes.com/ Personally I like the Endgame Gear OP1W-4K-V2 or OP1 for claw grip. They are also usable with finger grip, palm grip I prefer something wider. https://www.endgamegear.com/en-us/gaming-mice/op1w-4k-v2 https://www.endgamegear.com/en-us/gaming-mice/op1 I would recommend ignoring differences in sensors/DPI. All the modern options are so good you can't feel the difference. Same with 1000 vs 8000Hz polling. Weight does matter, but small differences like 3-5g are less important than how the mouse feels in your hand.
Never had any issues with Endgame Gear products, actually gifted my XM1r which I used a ton to nephew over a year ago and it's still running great. I've heard people have had cable issues though but I managed to dodge them and now using wireless OP1w 4k v2, can't give any long term durability of this one but so far it's flawless. And could be easily opened at least (screw are directly accessible without removing skates) if something came up.
OP1 (wireless versions). Mainly due to the shape but also because of the coating and it just feels the most responsive and snappy, haven't tested the Viper V4 pro yet though. In general anything narrowish with a backhump and a low button height goes.
Yep also would recommend the OP1 8k v2 (wired) or if you’re ok with a 59-60g mouse and want it to be wireless, I’d go with the OP1 4w v2. Same shape as the OP1 8k. You can change the switches in both of them for lighter clicks. Super easy to do. Also if you’d like to make the wireless one about 6ish grams lighter to sorta match the weight of the wired, there’s this brand called TJ exclusives that makes lighter bases for a handful of mice. Under $20 including shipping so I’d easily recommend them.
