I was on the fence about buying the Beast Miao after using the HSK Pro 4k, HTR Pro, and X2F beta. As someone who has always fingertip gripped, I was previously using the Pulsar X2 Mini and other "small but normal" mice and made it work. But when I moved to the HSK full time, things started working so much better for me. The Beast Miao is my favorite fingertip grip mouse because of its width, contoured sides, crazy strong construction, and weight. It'll be hard for something to replace this one, I tried the Fenrir Max and found it too wide for my liking.
There are very few with an adjustable sensor position. I only have experience with the razer orochi V2, Taipan, viper mini, viper mini SE and gwolves hsk pro. So I can only speak on those. You'll have to do your own research on pwnage. They seem to have produced some well priced bangers from what I've heard so I doubt they'll disappoint. The sensors on all modern gaming mice are overkill nowadays so I wouldn't worry about that either. I have a €300 mouse and never used its 8k polling rate.
Had no issue with my Gwolves mouse build quality wise. Currently imo they make the best wireless fingertip mice. Their software is ass though so changing your dpi, keybinds etc. can be annoying. They have a lot of very low weight mice (low 30g for full size and low 20g for fingertip) and they're not scared to experiment with shape so they have some very unique mice. If the conventional shapes don't do it for you gwolves has you covered.
I wouldn't recommend the hsk pro just grab the asym, the fact it comes with 70gf clicks is pretty meh for fingertip, and well replacing them on a new mouse ain't on the list of fun things i like to do. Plus the pinky support from the asym makes a big difference.
Hey everyone, I’ve been using a relaxed claw grip for a while, but I picked up a used G Wolves HSK Pro recently to finally try fingertip grip. My main motivations were to break my bad habit of pushing my mouse down into my pad when spraying/shooting, and to see if the precision offered by fingertip gripping would help me be more consistent. For context: * Current pad: Artisan Hyate Otsu Soft * Tried hard pads before (Padsmith Empress, OG TJ Exclusives Cerapad). I stuck with the Cerapad for a bit, but eventually moved back to cloth. * Previous main mice: Scyrox V8, Ninjutso Sora V2, Fantech Helios II Pro (though I have plenty of others, they don't see much use). Side note, the 28 gram hsk makes my scyrox and sora feel heavy, which I never thought I would say. What I’ve noticed so far: * Small–medium flicks feel way more consistent. My headshot % in Valorant actually jumped from \~23% the week before to 31% this past week since picking up the mouse. * On the flip side, my micro-tracking and general tracking (especially vs strafing/counter-strafing targets) feel much worse. It’s like I’ve lost some of the control/engagement I had with my wrist/arm when clawing. * I've also felt like my longer flicks that require me to turn more have gotten less accurate (especially close range). This might also be from the same issue as my previous point. I’m guessing this might just be an adjustment thing since fingertip is such a different experience (and the HSK is so unlike any other mouse I’ve used). I have a G Wolves HT-S2 on the way that I’m hoping will let me fingertip comfortably but also give me the option to pull the mouse into my palm for some claw gripping if needed, maybe the best of both worlds. Another thought: the sensor placement feels noticeably different, which could also be throwing me off. Has anyone else run into these issues when switching to fingertip grip? Any tips on trying to engage my wrist and arm more... just time/practice? Appreciate any insights!
hsk pro 4k >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> fenrir asym
almost same hand here, 20.8x10.7 I use the hsk pro 4k and the fenris asym, that are the 2 smallest mice available. embrace fingertip. also, that measure is like 90% standard percentile. Unless you can hold a basketball with your palm and not drop it, your hands are average.
hsk is the best ftip mice ever bad thing about gwolves, is that instead of continuing evolving with them and making even a little bit narrower to go to that "stylus / pen writing precission", now they are doing them but wider, which feels awful for a ftip mice.
Do you fingertip full size mice? If yes then by all means try the hsk pro or fenrir asym, if you palm or claw and never ever switch grips then don't.
Where are all these cheap fingertip mice on the market? Keychron M4 is $40 for 1k polling, $55 for 4K and $65 for 8k. G Wolves HSK Plus Light is $60 to 70 USD, with a last gen sensor and 1K polling. (still fine IMO, but not apples to apples) That's ALL of the commercially available; wireless, ***fingertip specific***, gaming mice with decent sensors under $100 USD\* that I am aware of. Two shape options under $100, just two while being generous with the 'cheap categorization. Under $50 there is only one and it's an overspec travel mouse from a keyboard brand. Between $100 & 200 USD the market has more options; Pulsar X2F, Gwolves HSK Pro and Fenrir models, WlMouse Miao and I think the ZeroMouse Blade comes in under $200 as well. These are priced in the premium range for gaming mice overall. That said, availability is far from good even in the more populated premium tier or used on Ebay. Many of the mentioned models are often out of stock. Total, excluding OptimumTech and very small bespoke makers, that is a grand total of what, 7 or 8 total shapes? Larger than it was, but still a VERY small market unless you include mice than are friendly to fingertip, but relatively full sized. *\*Yeah, that was a mouthful, but just trying to make a distinction between all the tiny mice that are super common, but not at all intended or spec'ed for competitive gaming, like the Logitech M317/pebble/ect.*
Are there any light optical mouse switches? The ones in the HSK are diabolically heavy for something in such a small mouse. They're heavy to the point that it's easy to move the mouse by accident due to how hard you have to press to click considering the lower stability of fingertip. I've never modded any other mouse switches, but I desoldered and swapped those out.
Just a sidenote. If it's anything like the HSK Pro, you can open that sucker up and remove the side buttons. The PCB for them is separate from the main one, so you can unplug it to stop them from working, or even remove them completely so they are just 2 holes if you want to. Very easy mod to do, no soldering or anything required, just a small screwdriver.
Honestly, if you’re willing to put in the hours. I can fully recommend the HSK Pro.
What do you think of the main clicks / the switches inside? I run the HSK 4K and the Fenrir Asym looks like it might address the ring and pinky finger placement issues that I have with the HSK, but the HSK has what I consider to be easily the best mouse switches on the planet and I'm not sure I can move to anything that isn't as crisp feeling without missing them. Seriously, Zippy DF3-P1L1's are so sick. It kind of looks like the Fenrir Asym uses even smaller switches inside that are SMD mounted, so I couldn't replace them with P1L1's if I wanted to.
I was an early adopter for the HSK 4K when it launched (I was part of the batch that came with *spicy* batteries) and hadn't used ftip before. I pretty much adjusted within a few hours, it felt incredibly natural to me. Being able to move your arm for big movements and moving the mouse within your hand for small adjustments is so incredibly helpful. I was a relaxed claw grip before and noticed when I had to clutch or otherwise perform better, I noticeably tensed up my hand which ended up changing my grip - and sometimes led to cramps in my hand. That has not happened to me once since using my HSK and I honestly don't think I can go back to regular mice for video game use.
